Winter Holiday in a pleasant place
Reviewed By laczkozsuWe spent 3 nights in this modern 4stars wellness hotel. Our room was on the second floor but there’s lift. Everything was all right, clean and comfortable. The staff was polite and friendly, the buffet breakfast and dinner was delicious and we had a great choice. We spent hours in the wellness section, we enjoyed the jacuzzi and the sauna. They were free and we got extra massage for resonable price. It was very good, too. We walked a lot in the snow, because there are nice parks, forest and lake nearby. We will return again.

Reviewed By Svetlana HI've stayed in this hotel twice-in 2018 and in 2022. It is simply gorgeous and I can state that from a position of a quite a picky traveller and guest. We had deluxe room with my husband and a 5* meals. It was during the week so the thermal caves worked just for us which was a bliss! Neglect the negative comments, unhappy people everywhere. The service is professional and friendly and June smells just so nice in Tarcal. Great wine tasting. Great terrace and garden. Great food and cleanness. Welcome drink-furmint wine. Great beds and beddings. The bathroom cosmetics was L'Occitane. The softest bathrobes. With my husband we were pleased.

The four star hotel was reconstructed from a historical mansion in the middle of the one hundred hectare vineyard. The rooms are equipped with Empire furniture and fascinate with their fabric and color harmony. The salon and the library are equipped with antique furniture, old paintings and Venetian chandeliers reflecting the atmosphere of the 19th century. The elegant restaurant for 60 persons, the pleasant summer terrace with an overlook to the park, as well as the wine bar in the cellar with unique atmosphere for 40 persons are expecting those who prefer excellent food and high standard wines. The separate room gives place to business and family events, as well as receptions at a high standard. Besides the wonderful environment the qualified staff ensures high standard, but still family like hospitality. Our additional services include: heated outdoor swimming pool, sauna, fitness room, tennis courts , own parking place, 24-hour reception and concierge service, program organisation, restaurant, wine bar, summer terrace, salon, library, conference hall, laundry service, central safe and bicycle rent.
A disappointment
Reviewed By 645margaritasTo start with, the reason for me traveling to Today was business. I was looking for estates to work with for my soon-opened business in wine. I wanted to visit estates as a guest to have an objective experience before talking business. We booked ourselves a stay at this German Countess owned 4* hotel (probably, one of the most hi-end accommodations in Tokaj). A night in a castle with a wine dinner and other perks to enjoy our last night in the region and to treat ourselves. I will try to be as objective as possible, so here's my observations: - I sent a message to them with a booking at least a month in advance of our arrival - no one got back to me. Then I sent an email, then a reminder, then I called and finally got to speak to someone at the reception but a meeting with a winemaker or a cellar visit couldn't be booked in advance; - Upon arrival there has been a confusion with an additional package that we booked. So they did not see us booking the package everybody else who stayed at the hotel seemed to be having. There was no difference in price, so they agreed to offer us a bottle of wine and a guided tour to their cellar as a part of the package; - The tour was in Hungarian, no English tour available performed by an excellent local guide who did her best trying to translate for us from time to time. Yet it was not a winery team member, which we understood as we were visiting in the middle of harvest; - After the tour we been called by reception- the winemaker wanted to meet downstairs! When I came down a poor guy didn't know why someone asked for him, yet I explained everything in my note to reception waaay in advance. He was kind and very friendly, invited me next morning to see the winery and have a little tour and chat. It was lovely to meet him; - the dinner we had booked was called a Wine dinner (fine dining) and it was supposed to be guided by a sommelier. That's why we didn't take a separate tasting. Unfortunately, we were served by two waiters who did not explain anything more than wines names, one was not speaking good English and didn't know the vintage we been served. Dinner was okay, the dessert was horrible; - We've been never offered welcome drinks which were a part of the package even after I mentioned it to a receptionist; - Breakfast was poor, nowhere close to 4*; - No complementary water in the room; - Upon checkout the trainee and her buddy tried to charge us for a wrong room. We noticed that, asked to correct the payment. The service was friendly but unfortunately it was the last drop for me. The experience was ruined. Besides our spoiled accommodation/services experience, the wines were rather mediocre. Their 5 puttonyos Azsú seemed unbalanced with way too high acidity that distracted from the flavours. The estate has a great potential for wine tourism, a beautiful location in the middle of gorgeous vineyards, a rose garden, fitness facilities and an open pool, a lovely restaurant and overall interior, nice rooms. However, the teams need to communicate better with each other. Sales team promotes something that Reception team isn't aware of, the website has duplicated services at different prices, the winery leaves a separate life, an external guide gives a tour to the cellar, no-one replying emails, dinner isn't guided properly, welcome drinks either should be offered or removed from the package promoted, service taxes were never mentioned anywhere yet we were charged around 25 eur extra... Overall I cannot recommend this estate at this point in time. I wish them to improve a customer experience. For the money we paid I'd rather stayed longer at the guest house and get ourselves more wines from other estates.

Reviewed By Martina BGreat place for stay near the city centre. Rooms are modern and cozy, everything is clean and tidy. Vasko is a great guy always at your dispozal. We even get the 10% discount in a local wine shop and welcome dink - a bottle od dry Tokaj Furmit. We really recomend this place.

Reviewed By KrisztinaBPESTEnnek a hotelnek egyetlen egy nagy problémája van a folyamatos, egész épületet (beleértve a szobákat is) belengő ételszag. Nyilván a konyha szagelvezetése rosszul van megoldva és a szobák felé szellőzik. Nyitáskor ugyanez volt, úgy látszik ez a probléma nem lesz megoldva. Akit zavar a folyamatos ételszag az ne menjen ide. Még a szoba napi takarításánál tartottuk furcsának, hogy az ágyak rendbetétele nem tartozik bele, de egyébként minden kifogástalan volt. Szép szoba, fürdőszoba, udvarias, kedves személyzet, gyors check in-out. Kényelmes parkolás. Nekünk a reggeli is megfelelt. A földszinti ételbárban érdemes átnézni a számlát, mert két plusz tétel „véletlenül” felkerült.

Nice place to stay in the city center
Reviewed By margietkaThere is nothing I could complain about. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, within walking distance to nice restaurants and cafes. It could use some renovating, but on the other hand - it was charming and had a very nice vibe to it. Our room was clean and the beds were comfy. The air-conditioning worked well and made our stay during a heatwave even more comfortable. The staff was really, REALLY nice and polite. Breakfast was sufficient and they have the strongest coffee in the world :) We stayed there for two nights and were very happy about our choice of accommodation.
