Horrible experence
Reviewed By eve132016On Friday 3/11/22, my family and I showed to Hamaca hotel in Boca Chica at 6PM as we had reservation for two rooms X 4 people. However, they was no electricity in the hotel, a lady at the front desk took our IDs/passports, gave us the bracelets and told us to return later as they could not provide us the room key due to lock of power. My family and I left the facility returned 3 hours later (9PM) and there was still no power. At that time there was a gentleman by the name of Edgardo was at the front desk, we informed him that we were leaving the facility as we waited for the key for 3 hours. He said he was going to have us a no show. We asked him how he will have us a no show since we were there talking to him. He then provided us a piece of paper with his name on it, name of the hotel and phone number confirming we were there. However, the hotel still have us as a no show and refusing to reimburse us the $364.50 I paid.

Panhandling is not allowed on property but when you step on the sand, well... They are nice people trying to make a living. We found that they are very friendly if you have a brief conversation with them then politely decline if you choose. We made small purchases. The inclusive food is good/not great. There is a pay restaurant on the dock that is whala also. Very good food. The sports bar in the middle of the complex is pay as well with excellent food. Nice to have thse options to take a break from the buffet food.

Extremely Friendly, Helpful, and Clean
Reviewed By Nick ZI’ve been traveling to the DR for work and fun for the last 12 years and have stayed in more hotels here than I can count. I’ve stayed here three different times and can’t recommend it highly enough Extremely professional and helpful. I asked to stay an extra couple of hours this last visit because I was doing a late afternoon scuba dive and they were so nice about it. It’s located very close to a number of good restaurants and not far from the beach, bank, or grocery store (not just a colmado but a grocery store). If you’re not the resort kind of traveler (which resorts suck), this is exactly the kind of place you want to stay.

We stood on the first floor and the manager thought it was ok for her to come into the apartment after the fact that she gave us the rundown of the apartment already. You have to pay extra for the gas, you're paying what ever it is she tells you utilized. The icing on the cake was this lady the manager accused us of stealing towels which made really pissed off because I paid my money to go there and since it was an apartment we brought our own towels, which we opened up and showed the manager so she can see the towel weren't the same as the ones in the apartments. We told her no towels were put in one of the rooms to which she said that the cleaning personnel did and we argued back in forth until I got in the car and we left. The place is nice don't get me wrong but im too grown to steal. The pool is nice but the manager isn't professional AT ALL ! There was a tv in one of the bed rooms and in the living room which was black and white until my husband fixed it, they want you to turn off the Ac's to conserve light in 90 degree weather. If you stay on the first floor all you hear is the managers voice all through out the night.

As two single women on a quick getaway from the cold, we could not be happier with our time here at Hotel Garant. Lot of reviews from the men saying women might not be comfortable here. The fact is, Yes, the prostitution in the country is a part of life for some; but, if you mind your business and worry about what YOU are there for (for me it’s the sun, sand and azure blue Caribbean water, great Fried Fish) this a great place to unwind, not far from Las Americas Airport, and just a couple of short blocks away from a fantastic beachfront with plenty of activities. With Spacious, and more importantly, clean rooms, great coffee and breakfasts to start the day, Mathieu and his entire staff do everything they can to ensure you make the most of your time in Boca Chica. What I look for is a clean, comfortable place to stay where I don't have to worry about my possessions when I'm out and about. Casa Coco is the one hotel I return to almost every time. Boca Chica is nothing wonderful; kind of the opposite, but the owner Thiery and his staff are super conscientious in maintaining everything. Totally the opposite of a big resort; you get a small room with a comfortable bed, cold a/c, hot shower, decent restaurant, and a pleasant little pool. All I want in a hotel.

We are located on the famous Avenida Duarte de Bocachica, a few meters from the beach. Where you can appreciate the various commercial establishments, enjoy the gastronomy of the area and relax in this paradisiacal natural oasis.

The attached picture is the view from the rooftop terrace I reserved the balcony room and when I checked in was told I couldn’t have it. The room I was given was windowless, the wifi is non existent and the sheets felt like they hadn’t been washed in weeks. I made the mistake of asking for extra towels and was told “no only two towels per day.” Even though the reason I needed the extra towels was to clean up the water on the floor from their faulty shower. The pool is the size of an oversized jacuzzi and the rooftop terrace was always full of trash. I stayed there one night of my five night reservation and changed hotels. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this hotel.

We are centrally located: just 10 minutes from the Santo Domingo airport, a hot spot for scuba diving and water sports, and an ideal location to travel to other parts of the DR!

Reviewed By workertravelsI booked this hotel because of the beachfront location after 2 weeks traveling around the DR before my flight back. First of all when I checked in I got a very personalised experience which made me feel very welcomed. My room wasnt that great, but was totally ok clean etc. I went immediately down to the restaurant and had some food which was great, and the service was really good. The location is absolute perfection on a quiet part of the beach, which is a sheltered cove/bay. They have free canoes and boards etc and they let you know they are they to use. I spent that day and the whole next day just chilling in the beach restaurant and walking around the beach area - it was so relaxing. I asked the hotel what other rooms they had and they showed me a couple of options al at about the same price. The other rooms were amazing, and I am so impressed with this hotel, the staff and the location and these other rooms that I will consider this my next go to hotel if i want a chill beach holiday. I didnt go out for any nightlife, but its right on the edge of the nightlife area so you can have the best of both if thats what you want
