Clean, very good breakfast
Reviewed By 884pierfStayed one night with my girlfriend. Check-in super easy. Our room was very clean, comfortable beds. Lots of extra pillows. Complimentary water. Fast WiFi. Breakfast was really nice with lots of choices (gluten free bread too). We did not use nor visit the SPA and the other amenities. Plenty of hiking options around.

Reviewed By sonb575This hotel is in a stunning area if the Harz Mountains. The hotel itself was very clean. It wasn’t staffed full time and this created a little confusion when we tried to check in, which wasn’t the hotels fault, the booking agency had supplied us with the wrong check in details, so for a small period we were stuck outside. Even though it wasn’t their fault, the hotel gave us a free alcoholic drink each for the stress. The grounds are beautiful and it is very peaceful. If I was to return to the area I would book again without hesitation (albeit I’d book direct with them and not through Priceline).

Great experience
Reviewed By FriemensI was on a business trip for four days and can only report the best about the Hotel Tannenhof. Best location directly at the mountain railway, bus stops and road to Braunlage (see balcony view in my last picture), private parking and above all a very obliging owner couple who read the wishes from your eyes. On the upper floor there are three very pretty junior suites, which are ideal for couples' holidays. Breakfast was prepared daily from fresh ingredients and tasted delicious. I can only praise and recommend this hotel.

All you could want from a hotel
Reviewed By MijasMikeI have stayed here several times, and each time it seems better than the last. The attention to detail is first-class, in the furnishngs, the rable settings, the bathrooms, and also with the staff. They are incredibly effcient and responsive, and take pride in their work. This must all stem from the owners who lead by example. I love the breakfasts, they are awesome, and tea and coffee are still served to you in beautiful silver pots rather than helping yourself from a machine. Dinners are quite imaginative and creatively presented, often featuring local venison. I can’t fault this hotel, it is worth visiting Bad Harzburg just to stay there. Excellent in every sense!

The frog with binoculars looking out through the front door is lovely and the framed stick figure purporting to be the first work of the infant Rembrandt fun. Travelling with a friend we had a suite with 2 bedrooms and a spacious living-room and an enclosed winter balcony that had commanding views of main street. Exceptionally friendly staff. I would have rated it as excellent, but the evening meal we had here was disappointing - slightly overcooked Schnitzel and greasy rosti - although the super service almost made up for it. It shouldn't be a factor in whether to stay here - the accommodation is really good - as Bad Harzburg is not short of places to eat and we may have caught them on a bad day.

Each day the breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with a large range of different foods on offer. I was particularly surprised and grateful when the host went out of her way to cater to my special food requirements. The hotel itself was very elegant, clean and quiet, and the central location was ideal. We heartily recommend this hotel.

The hotel has many steps, no good for disabled people and not easy to carry your luggage The reception staff was helpful to change our booked room wich was very small to a bigger room, the furniture were very basic and plain. We tried to book a treatment at the beauty salon but they did not work after 2 pm wich is not good if you spend the day outside. Children using the buffet unsupervised, the bar does not open before 8. pm. Two out of three night the dinner was good. We did not enjoy our stay and will niot recommend this hotel

An ok stay
Reviewed By SvenI_12Check in in was quick & room was ready for us up on our early arrival at 11noon. The room itself was nice, however the location not suitable to each in December dress up the kids to go to the pool, with full winter laundry. Also to visit the restaurant each time literally need to fully dress as it is all in another building. Dinner, the food was ok, salmon was cooked a point, beef was soft & tender the dumplings was undercooked very much. Dessert “Rote Grütze with Vanilla ice cream“ was a disaster. Service was friendly but preferred to service couples which came after us before us as a family besides only 2 staff for 27 guests at the time, not makes sense. Breakfast selection was ok, basic only no egg station not eggs to order, but enough to find something to eat. The area itself is nicely set up. The spa, not extra towels, no staff to asked something garbage bins was over floating when I mention to empty the team member said sure will do later, what a attitude. For a 4 star hotel lot of space to improve here, will not return for sure.
