Simple, effective and cheap
Reviewed By JMSPMachadoJust get of the bus from Hanoi and you'll be standing almost in front of Giang Son Hostel. Giang (the owner, was super helpful and friendly). The rooms tough simple, were one of the cleanest we had in Vietnam (in the sub 20€ range). They have bikes for rent for a really good price and all of them new. They have a big garage and you can try'em a bit before deciding what to take, big plus on that! We ended up renting a 125 suzuki which was great. The only thing i would noticed is that at the time of renting no helmets had gopro mounts, but mine stayed there, so at least one helmet now has it! They managed to clean our laundry from one day to the other, so we had clean fresh clothes for the way. Giang also lead the initial part of the Ha Giang loop, riding on her motorbike ahead of us to make sure...arhmmm...we didn't get lost and had no problem leaving the town. We also booked the trip back to Hanoi through them, it went smooth and simple. Highly recommend this hostel.

Reviewed By TTNZThe Ha Giang Riverside Hostel is an excellent place to begin and end a Loop tour. My friend and I did the tour, arranged through Lily's Travel in Hanoi ( see seperate review) with all local Ha Giang service provided by Riverside Hostel. This included a pick up service from the bus station, after arriving by sleeper bus. Binh from Riverside Hostel collected us at 3:00a.m from the bus station, amazing service! We were then able to sleep until morning, shower and have a delicious breakfast before heading off to do the Loop with our two Easy Riders, also arranged by Riverside Hostel. At the completion of the tour we were dropped back at Riverside to await the bus back to Hanoi. Binh was friendly and helpful even at 3:00am, and in the morning Logan and Paul chatted with us over breakfast and informed us of all arrangements. After the Loop ride we were welcomed back as friends. The Hostel is basic, but clean and comfortable with a lovely back deck overlooking the river where you eat breakfast. But it's the service that makes this place a stand-out! Highly recommended as your starting and ending place for the Loop, they will look after you and help make your amazing trip even more so!.

Reviewed By 424karsvWe did the 3 day Ha Giang loop tour. It was so beautiful! We came at really nice places. And we where so lucky with the weather as well. The tour guids from Chopai hostel where amazing, drinking the "happy water" every evening and doing karaoke with the locals, was fun! Cheers to oure guids Hanh and Sáng! ?

Reviewed By zaawwaazI would say the service of the manager here made the stay good! 'Min' and 'Suk' were friendly and very helpful towards my needs... super thankful! I got matched to this place as it was part of my loop tour and lodging for 1 night was kindly provided. Thankful for a private room (no windows) but it was warm and basic for the night. Sometimes you can hear other visitors if they speak loudly :P Wifi access password is written on the wall. The toilet is one level down from the room and functional. I think they have 1 more accessible from the pool area where the helmets are placed too :) Hence the redeeming factor I would say for the staff who is genuine, helpful, and fun-loving - I had fun watching the hunks play pool while waiting for my bus to arrive :) They made me feel at ease, and I could relax until I needed to go :)

Ha Giang is blessed with some of the most incredible scenery in the world, much of which is located within the newly opened Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark. The Geopark contains not only incredible natural beauty, but also amazing ethnic diversity. 17 different ethnic minority groups live in the Geopark, each with their own unique dress, language, and traditions. Unfortunately, the people of Ha Giang are also some of the most impoverished in Vietnam. By developing the tourist industry here, the local people can have access to higher paying and more sustainable jobs, while also preserving their cultures. Bông means "bloom" in Vietnamese, and is the name of the owner's niece. Our logo represents a little girl whose dream is to one day travel and see the world. The Cafe was opened in August 2015, and the Hostel opened next door in April 2016. Reviewed By 196georgkI came to Ha Giang and stayed here for one night to be able to start the Ha Giang Loop the next day. Going to the Bong Hostel was the best choice I could make. First of all spending a night there was very pleasant as the rooms are clean and the beds are comfy and second of all I also rented my bike from Bong Hostel and it was amazing. The bike was in perfect condition with only around 6000 km on it and the helmet I got was completely new as well. Perfectly equipped, the lovely manager Ann gave me a very detailed description of the most important points I need to visit on the loop, which made my journey perfect. I came back one day earlier than planned and even got the rental for one day refunded. Thanks for the amazing time, once I come back to Vietnam I will definitely visit your place again!

Reviewed By _R5261QHMe and my friend stayed at Creekside home stay before and after we did the Loop. Since we can’t drive a motor cycle, we asked the owner if he can arrange a car with a driver. He arranged it for us and the driver was very professional. They have bicycles so you can rent it if you want to go around the city. The shared bathrooms are very clean.
