The 10 Best Historical & Heritage Tours in Quebec City, Canada

February 14, 2022 Marissa Gamble

Quebec City may be the only fortified city north of Mexico, but it welcomes visitors with open arms. Explore the Citadel, where you might catch Canadian troops staging a military ceremony. As for food, you could splurge on afternoon tea at the Chateau Frontenac, or do as the locals do and snack on poutine—french fries with gravy and cheese curds.

We took a private tour of Montreal with our guide Lola over 4 hours long. We had the opportunity to tour the old part, the banking area, the port and the Olympic stadium area. We were in places not usual for tourists, we learned about the daily life of the people of Montreal, their way of life, virtues and problems of life in Montreal. The private tour is a worthwhile experience, and if Lola is your guide, even better. Thanks to Voyalific for meeting all our expectations.

Rain!! Oh well. The company called us the day before and explained weather. Gave us the option of cancelling or accepting Mother Nature and going for it. We thought this was very proactive and admirable to contact their customers ahead of time. Professional. We decided to go for it. Our guides were Guy and Emily. They explained bikes and adjusted seats to our height. They were both very knowledgeable regarding equipment and our path to the falls. Our safety, seemed to be of utmost concern to them both which was appreciated. We stopped at certain points where Guy would explain points of interest and historical significance. There are a few inclines in which I struggled. ( Haven’t biked since I was 12. Clearly need to strengthen my legs). Thank you Emily! She was right beside me, with encouraging words. So kind. The falls were indeed, impressive. The snack the company provided was quite delicious with a chocolate power bar, cheese, crackers and an extremely unique box of maple water. They also provided us with water. The ride back was mostly down hill and we made our way quickly. Thanks Guy and Emily for a great tour.

The package made for a fun stress free day with lots of time outside! We were a group of 4 and all agreed the bikes were nicer and more comfortable than our bikes at home, which made the tour quite enjoyable. We have been to Quebec many times but this was a little bit of a nice refresher and a different perspective of the city. The lunch was delicious and came with a drink, soup, main, and desert with tip and everything included. The pizza was delicious. The cruise was a relaxing 1,5 hours that went out for a view of the falls and back. It was the perfect chance to relax and get a second wind for the day. The cruise ticket also comes with 3 other tickets for a beach, the funicular, and a cassis sample. In the time of covid, it was a great socially distanced day where all the businesses were respectful and well prepared. Thank you all!
