Get an eyeful of traditional Chinese architecture in Ngong Ping village, then take the tram to the tippity-top of Victoria Peak for unparalleled views. KA Atelier - Beginners Chinese Painting workshop

KA Atelier, a private painting studio, is a reflection of Hong Kong’s art and culture, frequently described as "East meets West", due to it’s mix of Chinese traditions with Western influence from British rule. KA Atelier offers unique art classes melding Chinese painting skills and philosophies with Western modes of expression. Ideal for Hong Kongers to escape the city’s hustle and bustle as well as for tourists to discover the traditions of Chinese painting which I am determined to keep it alive by passing on the lessons of my late teacher, a renowned Chinese Painting Master, with a modern approach.

We hope when you leave, you would feel it’s amazing to have a home with cat companion. We offer basic facilities such as electricity, Wi-Fi, light refreshment and drinks.

The Riff

The Riff is Asia’s premier standup comedy club. It is Hong Kong’s only full-time comedy venue, and the first on the continent from Live Nation, the entertainment house behind the legendary Punchline Comedy Clubs in the US, home to giants including Dave Chappelle.

The Riff is in California Tower in the middle of Lan Kwai Fong, which makes it super convenient to stop in for a drink. They have a purpose-built showroom along with a separate bar that offers happy-hour specials, which make it affordable as well! The bonus is that the Wednesday and Sunday open mics are generally free, so it's a low-risk option just to see what's going on that week. I have been to a few of their shows as well, and they were super funny! Most of their headliner shows sell out at least a week in advance, so I would recommend booking ahead for those shows - otherwise, just stop in and see what they're up to!

Happy Valley Racecourse

From the stunning skyline to the spectacle of Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong is full of world-class sights for travellers to see. But if you’re looking for fun – to add a little ‘do’ to your ‘see’ – then look no further than Happy Wednesday at Happy Valley Racecourse, the city’s trendiest headquarters for mouth-watering food, thirst-quenching beverages and thrilling excitement both on and off the track. There’s nothing quite like a night at the races in Hong Kong! Week in and week out, Happy Wednesday fans are treated to a full sensory experience, pairing the pulse-pumping entertainment of jousting jockeys with a weekly theme that is integrated into everything from live bands and interactive games to on-course decorations and a delicious, reasonably priced trackside menu. Come in the fall and you’ll be treated to refreshing pints and a festive bratwurst for Oktoberfest – the largest outdoor beer festival in Hong Kong. Drop in during May, however, and it’s all ratatouille and brie, as Happy Wednesday hosts the hugely popular French Nights. It’s an extravaganza that’s fit for Asia’s world city, putting an international twist on a sport that has a rich heritage and cultural tradition for the city’s people. There’s simply nowhere else in the world where you can experience such a seamless blend of racing and lifestyle in one event. Whether you’re a local, an expat, or just visiting Hong Kong, there’s truly something for everyone at Happy Wednesday!
