We spent a great morning eating, drinking and learning a lot about Tenuta Casanova. Silvano gave us a tour and an enology lesson that was great. Silvano is very enthusiastic about his profession. We have never been to a winery where we enjoyed the atmosphere and the wine and food like this. The wines were pared with a delicious meal prepared by Silvano's wife perfectly. Living in California we go to the wineries up North but nothing compared to our visit. The aged balsamic vinegar is fabulous. It is wonderful over ice cream! The truffle oil over scrambled eggs is delicious. We ordered and just received a shipment that we placed and can't wait to start drinking it!!! I am sold on a new winery to add to my collection

Learned so much! 3 of us, met with Shirley in the morning, planned the menu over cappuchinos, then set off shopping at the area markets to get everything we were going to make! From the hand picked produce, butcher for filet's and some great prosciutto, and cured meats, to the local mercado for bread & cheeses! (the sheep's ricotta is to die for), then off to Shirley's gorgeous house up above the hill to learn what to do with it all! She was very kind, patient and learned SO much! Her husband, Chuck was very personable as well! We made SO much food-and took a lot back to our apt. in Cortona! Would definitely recommend-no, HIGHLY recommend!!
