The 10 best Condos in Paphos, Cyprus

April 29, 2023 Chanda Heide

Paphos, the capital of western Cyprus, has some serious historical clout. Site of the vast fourth-century BC Tombs of the Kings, set high on a cliff above the sparkling sea, as well as a dramatic Byzantine castle and fine mosaics, it's also known as the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite. The population of 27,000 is swelled by a summer influx of beach-bound English, German and Scandinavian visitors. A beautiful old harbor awaits, while modern hotels and restaurants stretch along the promenade.

Exceptional service, fabulous food and newly rennovated

The Mayfair Hotel was a true delight. The hotel is run by a truly dedicated team, from front of house to behind the scenes. I can honestly say we were looked after to an exceptional standard throughout our 10 day stay. The restaurant gets a huge thumbs up from us. The buffet menu was themed and we were blown away by the amount of choice, the freshness of the food and the tastiness. We'd like to give a big shout out to George who runs the restaurant. My youngest son is an extremely picky eater and George ensured he didn't go hungry and was well taken care of. The pool side is split in to two areas, with a family area with slides and the main pool. All very clean and sun loungers plentiful. The poolside entertainment was very inclusive with fun games, aqua aerobics and pilates. We had a room with a pool side view and it was exactly as we had expected. The cleaning staff were very attention with daily cleaning too. The location of the hotel was perfect for us as we had planned a number of day trips down to the harbour, catching local buses to the Tomb of the Kings, the Water Park (best one we've ever been too) and recommended beaches. We also booked on a Jeep Safari trip and we weren't disappointed. This was our first trip to Cyprus and the island was very friendly and welcoming. The beaches, villages and mountains were breathtaking. Thank you Mayfair Hotel for making our stay a memorable one.

Another fabulous visit

Reviewed By heatherj1962

We visited Artemis Cynthia again for a week’s break and we were not disappointed. Kypros, Jennie and Liz looked after us so well. They gave us lots of helpful advice about the local area and getting around. Our flight was delayed and we arrived in the middle of the night, having received instructions to get into our apartment. All went very smoothly and the apartment was modern and spacious. There was even a nice bottle of wine and a welcome basket waiting for us. Everything you would need for a self catering break in the sun. Such a novelty to have a washing machine and go home with no laundry!! A clean apartment and the area around the pools was spotless also. Our flights were late returning home and the team were very accommodating with organising for us to have a late checkout. This was our second visit and we are now planning on visiting again for a month as there is so much to see and do in Cyprus. With such excellent accommodation and service, we will definitely be booking again.

Great studio apartment

Reviewed By cjs3traveller

Absolutely recommend this place for all ages. Well equipped for two people, but only talking about the room we had. A large room that looks very new, however the owner needs to consider the following. 1, No hooks on the back of bathroom door to hang your clothes whilst showering. 2, No shelf in shower cubicle to put your shampoo or gel. 3, No shower Matt to stop you slipping down. 4, not one TV programme that speaks English although I don’t want watch tv I do like to see some news, Euronews is even dubbed into Greek and yet there is already about 3 or 4 news programs in Greek. English is the international language, not sure how many visitors you get who speak Greek!! This review is only meant as being constructive ant by any means a complaint . Overall a great place to stay and would certainly come back.

Horrendous Appartments

Reviewed By debbiesQ4133DE

Cleanliness of apartment was disgusting. Apartment thick with dust, cobwebs in the apartment, dirty bedding, kitchen dirty and the cooker covered in rust and was not even connected to gas so unable to use., really rusty fridge inside. Toaster and kettle were dirty. Really Un-professional and rude owner. Tried speaking to the owner, who refused several times to come and look at the state of the rooms. My sister had a massive argument outside in the garden where she called us liars and said Germans were much better than British! Owner very aggressive rude and threatening to my sister and boyfriend. My disabled brother in law had a fall in the bath because the non slip had worn away and owner said "everybody slips in the shower" didn't even ask if he was OK. My brother-in -laws stump was black with bruising! No emergency contact details available and emaila not answered. A Medical examination was needed by a private doctor who issued a medical note and letter addressed to the establishment with his assessment and suggestion to move to a more disabled friendly apartment, but once again owner was not interested in accommodating his needs. We had a flood in our apartment from the toilet so had to turn water from cistern off, owner accused my boyfriend of lying and said he had chucked water on the floor?? See pictures attached. Absolutely appalling behavior from this Property owner. The pool was green and not cleaned so was unusable. Toilet seat had been repaired with filler. Worst place I have ever stayed. We left and went elsewhere after 2 days spending a whole day of our holiday trying to find suitable accommodation for all parties concerned.

This place is definitely a find: there was a friendly welcome and the room was very clean, spacious, well equipped, bright and airy! It would be perfect if just passing through and equally as good a base, should you be planning a longer stay. The bonus was a sweet little balcony to enjoy the early sun or sit out after an exhausting day. WiFi connection was strong. Very walkable distance to local shops and amenities but we did not need to use them because there was a great little corner shop just a hop, skip and a jump away from the hotel. I had been concerned by reviews mentioning noise in other Paphos hotels and booked this one because it was away from the main centre. It was very peaceful. That being said, getting to and from the centre was quick and easy. The local area looks interesting and I will definitely be coming back again for another look. Melpomene Court will be my first choice for accommodation when I do. Thanks to the lady at reception for your assistance as we arrived.

Too much noise

Situated in the most noisy part of Paphos with discos all nights. Glad we had ear plugs. Aircondition expensive but nescessary as it is not possible to sleep with open doors / windows. Kitchenette very poorly equipped. Pool area nice but need an extra cleaning. Friendly hosts and fine service - especially in the poolbar. Rooms are as expected for a place like this, old but clean.
