Nagasaki Prefectural Saikaibashi Park

This park is lovely even if you aren't going there with children. The foliage and views of the water are very beautiful. You can see the Saikai bridges from the overlooks. There are several kid friendly things including a sledding hill (plastic grass), a small zip ride, etc. However I think most of those activities are weekend only. All in all a good place to spend some outdoor time.

Kujuku Island

Reviewed By surambo3 - Shimonoseki, Japan

So-called Ninety-nine Islands are actually composed of 208 islands. "Ninety nine" means "many". We can enjoy the beautiful view from many angles. There are observatories on mountains and hills. Also, you can get on "Kujuuku-shima Cruising" to enjoy view from ocean cruising among islands.

Miuracho Catholic Church

Reviewed By NicholasN244 - Singapore, Singapore

Miuracho Catholic Church is only a short walk away from Sasebo JR station. It is set on top of the hill with many many stairs to climb up. You can go around the back street which is less tiring to walk. However, it is a small quaint church. It does look very majestic from the front. Don't forget to visit the beautiful Mary statue within the compounds when you are there.

Kujukushima Pearl Sea Resort

Reviewed By cjbh - Salt Lake City, United States

Don't miss this, even if you only have one day in Sasebo. We take all our visitors here. So gorgeous! One-hour boat ride from a lovely little harbor, through the 99 Islands area (actually more than 99) with commentary in English, Japanese, & Korean. Only 1400 yen, and boats go every half hour from 10-4. There's a white boat and a pirate boat, so if you have kids they may want to ride on the pirate boat.

Hario Radio Tower

Reviewed By joano736 - Sasebo, Japan

Was able to tour the tower area with a guide last year. The history of the place is amazing and given when it was built a true engineering marvel for its time. We even got to look inside one fo the towers. Well worth the visit especially for history buffs.
