I come to sasebo once a year for work, this is the best steak I have ever had in my life. It's a very small restaurant I think it can sit maybe about 15 people. I highly recommend coming here I wish I could come here more than once a year.

We love the burgers here. Something about the egg the just puts it over the top. Expect to pay more than you would in the states for a burger, but definitely comparable to other similar places in the area. Staff always friendly and helpful towards us non-Japanese speaking guests.

I see why Hachinoya is already highly rated. Their food is delicious and their prices are reasonable. I had their Ginger Pork, which was served on a sizzling hot plate with miso soup, a bowl of rice, a small bit of cold vegetables, and a wonderful little shrimp appetizer.
All of the above was only ¥970, so I ordered one of their famous cream puffs. Here is where they bump down from five to four stars. Maybe I was spoiled by the incredible cream puffs in Hokkaido, but these didn't even come close to matching up. They were good, they just weren't amazing.
I look forward to going back another day and trying their lemon-soy steak. They have quite a few menu items that sound very promising. :)

This place is famous for Nagasaki jjamppong and it was true. Especially, in its jjamppong, there were a lot of vegetables. I've never seen so much vegetable in jjamppong. But this place was too noisy, staffs looked a bit angry because of their tiredness. Most japanese restaurants are quiet but not this one.

This restaurant was recommended by colleagues who said that we had to go there if we wanted the best glass/crystal/clear squid sashimi.
this place did not disappoint in the least!!!
Seating is Japanese style on the floor, and very few servers speak any english. Basically you point at a picture on the menu and order (hoping for the best). If you have google translate on your phone, you might get half way there. But all of this is a good sign that that food is going to be awesome!
We ordered a bunch of stuff (lot of it just by looking at plates that other servers were carrying elsewhere!!). The clear squid sashimi is quite a trip as the squid is literally alive when it is brought to your table with the tube all sliced up!! (see my pics). For me, once was enough though :-)
i liked the other sushi and tempura dishes a lot better.
Definitely recommend visiting this place when you go to Sasebo. I am going again in 2 weeks and am going again for sure!

This shop is famous as the originator of the Sasebo burger.
When I visited there was a long queue because it was during a long holiday in Japan.
I ordered a bacon egg burger as classic menu. In addition I added a deep fried cheese and the steak Sandwich.
The bacon egg Berger had sandwiched homemade bacon, and it was very chewy. Steak Sandwich had much volume, so I felt satiety.

Sasebo is a town that sells a variety of burgers. Coming from the JR Kyushu train, one will definitely see Log Kit's burger joint at the station.
Had the bacon and egg burger. It sure is satisfying with the soft buns, juicy and tender bacon with a good classic egg!
The space here is small. But there are a few outdoor benches to enjoy your meal and busk in the cool weather..

We were seated by the glass window, so the ambiance was very nice, looking at the water surrounding the hotel. The setting was christmassy-with all the beautiful christmas trees and poinsettias. The eye-opener champagne was really good. I loved the sweet cookie-bread with sliced almonds and the sunny side up egg was perfect-not too cooked-not runny. Yay!
