Amazing stay at R&W cosy house
Reviewed By hanlin26We stayed for 3 nights in Dec 2019. The stay was perfect - a mix between BNB hospitality and hotel-level services, all thanks to Lao Cai and his crew. From the moment we entered the house, we were drawn to the MUJI-style minimalist design, complete with indoor plants and flowers that make you not want to leave his place. We stayed in the mini queen room on the 1st floor, which had a nice nook to relax in, heated floors, a Bose Bluetooth speaker, smart TV with a wide selection of movies, and even a retro arcade game console for some nostalgia. Breakfast everyday alternated between Western and Asian cuisine. The food was healthy and homely, yet extremely tasty. Lao Cai and his crew would whip breakfast up while you sat at the kitchen counter enjoying a good cup of coffee (with legitimate coffee art) that Lao Cai would gladly brew for you. Perhaps the highlight of our stay. The location is perfect for travelers who visit Hangzhou for its scenic beauty and peaceful vibes - staying at R&W adds on to the whole experience. The Inn is in a quaint and more peaceful area around West Lake, and the lake is only a 3min walk from the Inn. Longjing tea fields and the West Lake scenic area leading up to the Feilai Peak region can also be easily accessed. There is also a neighborhood convenience store just 1min away, which was very well stocked despite its small size. Lao Cai was extremely hospitable and helpful towards all our needs. He helped us set up local apps like alipay, DD, and hellobike which made our visit to Hangzhou much more convenient. Highly recommend staying at R&W for anyone visiting Hangzhou!

Reviewed By Daniel_FooLovely place with very cosy Chinese Japanese style rooms. Big xiaomi smart TVs to provide entertainment. And it says a lot for the attention to quality and pride for the inn master 小阮 to provide quality furnishings in the room, such as Kohler wash basins, warm electronic toilet bowls and warm tatami floorings which is great in winter. His team of staff ladies are also very attentive to our needs. Van Wind makes you feel at home with the personal touches. 小阮 is a warm host and we had great times chatting throughout the night with his fine teas served with snacks. At some point his wife the inn mistress joined us and you are brought back to the good old days of chats over teas that you can envision from the Chinese culture. I loved the special house brand (私房茶)tea that he served , I believe his hospitality and little touches to create an experience that is differentiating from the other inns amongst the stretch along the Baihe bridge (百合桥) neighborhood. Overall, I would gladly recommend staying at Van Wind inn when visiting Hangzhou!

Reviewed By 哗啦啦啦啦啦下车后小雨朦胧，星星点点的落在身上，应该是独属于杭州温柔的招呼，来到客栈的路上看到山色空蒙的西湖，才明白苏东坡的准确和欣喜。 客栈坐落于半山腰上，门前的凉亭，小桌小椅子都很有情调，房间里设施完备，老板前台都很亲切周到，店里的小泰迪很可爱，很有氛围，给好评。

Lovely hotel with super helpful staff
Reviewed By J4446DDannebVery nice and small boutique hotel in quite and green area. It is close to West lake and you can walk to Leifeng Pagoda and Silk Museum easily. The owner is very helpful to organize our trip and speaks English very well. 4 individual rooms, well equipped, the ones facing the park are very nice with bath tube. Servicing nice coffee and Longjing tea for breakfast, fruit, eggs and different dishes freshly prepared each morning (one day we had waffles, one day rice porridge). Great option, when you like to leave the crowds and enjoy individual traveling more than main stream hotels.

The best host ever
Reviewed By braunschweigtravelerThe location of the bed and breakfast place is perfect – in the middle of the green lush area west of West Lake. Very close to famous and beautiful Lingyin Temple and the cable car to Beigaofeng viewing platform where you have a fantastic view of West Lake and the city. It is also not far to Longjing Village with its tea plantations. A good place for walking and hiking, too. When you arrive by car, though, make sure you contact Tina first. She speaks very good English. It is a little tricky to find a parking spot, since the whole area is gated and you need a parking permit to park there. The room was very comfortable and new. We appreciated the modern and good appliances in the bathroom. Breakfast is Chinese and very good and hearty. You will not leave hungry. But what we liked best, was host Tina’s hospitality. She was very accommodating and made us feel at home at once. She even helped us carry our luggage to the car that was parked a little distance away! Thank you, Tina, we really appreciate your kindness!

Good hotel and helpful staff
Reviewed By nicckkThis was my third visit to this hotel. At reception they have one little english speaking manager, which is very helpful. Rooms are big and the bed is comfortable. In breakfast atleast they have some vegetarian options. I got bread and butter which is even not available in most china hotels. Only cons is it is at lonely place , any store or shop atleast is one km walking.
