Great place for the value
Reviewed By chrisadvisor707Stayed here one night after being in Wulingyuan for two. It is December so it is cold out. The room has two heaters and warms up very quickly. The host was kind and spoke enough english to help us out. We had late flights so we hung around a bit after our day of hiking. Our bags were locked in a room for us all day and the lobby was open with a heater for us to rest in until leaving for the airport. Also a very good restaurant around the corner you can find on Trip Advisor. Also good location being a 5 min walk to bus/ train stations and 10 minutes to cable car.

We reached at 22.00 asking to pick up at the bus station but no reply ended up walking. No discount Tianmenshan tickets for hotel guests anymore. Help to buy train ticket but insurance 10%added on the fare which you don t pay if you could buy by yourself. Rooms smell smoking

A real boutique hotel, elegant with wonderful staff
Reviewed By TravelingCat22Some hotels call themselves "boutique" for the marketing appeal without deserving the qualification. This small luxury boutique hotel is perfect: warm wooden decor, elegant large bedrooms and bathrooms (tub and shower), wonderful staff before the arrival, during the stay and after. Breakfast is a la carte and all you wish: eggs, toast, tomato, lettuce, cucumber, beef noodle soup, fried rice, dumplings... All delicious and made almost in front of you by the owner himself. If you have access to it, connecting via WeChat is extremely practical for an even more attentive welcome. The driver needs to drop you at the bridge, then walk about 60 m along the river. Well marked on Google maps. Absent on the Chinese app Amap (between the two first hotels). The advantage of Lee over other high end hotels is the personalized care and also walk 5' to many restaurants. And for people not familiar with the area and wondering where to stay, choose Wulingyuan as long as you can since Zhangjiajie is rather ugly and busy (half a million people).

He speaks fluent English and has an intricate knowledge of local area and how best to see the sights. I honestly don't think he could have been more helpful unless he offered to hike the scenic paths of the national park with me strapped to his back. He and his family are charming hosts that run a quaint little guest house in a brilliant location at a fantastic price. If you read this review and decide to stay elsewhere then you're letting yourself, you're letting Richard down and you're letting me down. I won't be angry, I'll just be disappointed.

Hostel very well located
Reviewed By Laulo1979Hostel very well located, only 5 minutes walk from the parc entrance. It is in a quiet street, a back alley full of small hostels. Staff don't speak English but they use an app to translate and they are helpful. They sell vouchers to have a 15yuans Chinese breakfast in a small and very simple restaurant 1min away. We had lunch in the parc, where you can find a lot of street food and a McDonald. For dinner we went to Tang Shi Fu Tu Jia Shi Fu located on the town main street, 20min walk from the hostel, no English spoken, challenging but the menu is in English and with a phrase book we made it, the staff was helpful and the food was good.

Reviewed By 687Lisa687Value: For the price and what you get, it can't be beat! Room: My mother and I stayed in a 2nd floor twin room with a private bathroom comfortably. The room has a TV (Chinese channels only), a kettle and cups, an electronic safe for valuables, an open closet to hang clothes, a nightstand between the two beds, and a big window. The bathroom is a rainfall shower, and there are large containers of shampoo and body soap. The sink had a great modern design, like one of those procelain bowls, but I found it was not stabilized to the counter and accidentally moved it... So please be careful. Maybe it was the time of the year where travel is not high to the area, but noise was not a problem at all. It was so quiet, I wondered if there were even other guests! But this is no problem at all :) Staff: Ralph and Shao were on duty when we were there, and they were incredibly kind and helpful! From restaurant recommendations, hiking advice, and how to get to places by public transportation... My mom and I really appreciated it, thank you both so much! Airport pickup was seamlessly arranged in advance for our late night arrival. Location: When I stepped out the cab, I was blown away by how beautiful the entrance is with the wood and greenery. I loved the entire vibe of the area: a quiet neighborhood full of other small guesthouses and businesses. It's not a far walk from the bus station and most famously, the entry to the national park. Shops for snacks, toiletries, gifts etc are very nearby as well. Near the entrance to the national park, I saw that a huge shopping center with Starbucks, Adidas, etc would be opening soon. There are no chain restaurants or anything in the area, so I found it a bit sad, but inevitable. No Elevator: There are stairs only, so be careful if you have a lot of luggage, or heavy luggage. (My mom is older and not so strong, so I took charge!) The steps also were quite steep, though there is a handlebar, so this might not be a good option for those with trouble. My mother (in her late 60s) could climb the steps only very slowly, especially as her feet were exhausted from the days we went walking through national parks. Housekeeping: Cleaning could be improved for the guest room. It bother me most that there was water left in the electric kettle from who knows when, so I didn't use it. The beds were made everyday by housekeeping and towels exchanged. Towels were not always perfect condition, like a small stain or rip, but certainly clean. I say this because I saw for myself the staff doing the laundry on the ground floor. Cups do not get exchanged by housekeeping, so be sure to take care of cleaning it yourself if you stay a few days :) I felt the room was perhaps a little musty, though maybe it can't be helped because of the climate and the design of the building. I wish so much that we stayed longer! There is so much to explore in this area, and 3 days did not do it justice. I will be back when I can!

Reviewed By H CWe had an absolutely wonderful stay at this boutique hotel!The location is only a short walk away from the mountain gates. The room was very cute and clean. Breakfast was available next door for 10rmb/person - unlimited and traditional Chinese food (we frequented twice and were very happy each time). The hostess and her staff are extremely nice and helpful. Since they are so knowledgeable of the area, they were able to provide suggestions to our originally planned itinerary (which did not take into account local construction, etc). The hostess was very kind in helping us book a driver to go back to Zhangjiajie city, and provided restaurant recommendations as well. She even added us on Wechat in case we had future questions and needed friendly advice. All in all, a wonderful stay here. Would love to come back again if we get a chance to visit these mountains during another season!

Reviewed By danielye314晚班航班抵达张家界，张家界机场距离市区很近，非常方便。客栈装修风格和方便的地理位置是选择此家的理由，计划次日早去天门山游玩，搭乘缆车就在马路对面。 服务生好客，温馨的客栈，客房面积不小，用原木做的结构件和家具，配置一应俱全。晚上安静，就是机场降落飞机声音巨响，机场靠近城市有优点，缺点也是显而易见。
