Reviewed By Evan KThis hotel is great value. Although the building has seen better days (it's a bit rough on the eyes and the decor is a little dated), it was comfortable and clean. The staff are very nice and extremely hospitable. The wifi was great and accessible throughout the hotel. My only gripe was the hot water in the shower, or lack of. Apparently there was some sort of issue with the heating system during our stay and we had to put up with cold showers for our three day stay. For the price and the hotel's proximity to the train station, I would definitely stay again.

I wish I read a review like this before I came to Mongolia...
Reviewed By thejerksonOk so bare with me here. I'd like to point out that from some of the reviews I've read make me think like the author had unrealistic expectations. Mongolia is a unique, wild, beautiful and harsh place. I'm sure with enough money anything is possible but just know that you're going to be "roughing it" with pretty much any tour you do and that isn't necessarily a bad thing if you have an open mind. Guest house: It's a basic place but not quiet or comfortable. We stayed in a cheap hotel on our return to Ulaanbaatar and found it much more comfortable especially since we had a private washroom. Tour: Where should I begin. We planned a 10-day tour of Central Mongolia and the Gobi. We later found out that this was ambitious and the pace didn’t leave a lot of time to enjoy our destinations. We were able to extend our tour by a day to spend time at Terkh Lake. Our drive and guide accommodated us which we appreciated but then they also seemed to smell the money and tried to get us to extend the tour by 1-3 days several times. Pretty much everything we saw and did was stunning and I fully recommend Central and Gobi if you only have two weeks or so. The bad: Some things are understandable. We slept in uncomfortable beds and sometimes the food was almost always noodles with lamb, carrots and potatoes. I can live with all that. Our big problem was the guide. If anyone reads this I would suggest you meet your guide before you start the tour. See if you are a good match and make a decision based on that. Our guide was awful, a younger girl from the city with little connection to her culture and couldn’t answer any of our questions. In nor particular order she… -showed no interest in making any kind of conversation -used her cell phone to post selfies she was taking on facebook but lied about not having reception when I wanted to search a way to fix my camera that broke on the 2nd day -fought with the driver in front of us then spent days in silence even crying at one point -never gave us any information unless we asked and even then, the most common answer was “maybe” -left us alone several times on cliffs, hikes, etc -told my partner to “eat around it” when she was served meat after asking for vegetarian SEVERAL times -when we asked about getting a sim card she said it was impossible but I managed on my own to get a sim card with data for under $1 -just a lot of other misinformation, laziness and lies The good: Our driver was amazing and saved the entire tour. Despite not speaking English he did his best to explain things. He made sure to invite us into the family Gers and we even got the chance to be involved in a wedding celebration. Most of the special moments on the trip wouldn’t have happened without his initiative.

Buffet breakfast good and coffees excellent. Location handy walking distance to plenty of inner city restaurants and shops. Definitely will stay here again.

Reviewed By LeonieS70The staff were so helpful! They organised a trip for us to see the wild horses which was fantastic. We saw so much wildlife and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. At the guesthouse the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast each morning was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a very nice place to stay inbetween our tours.

Reviewed By blowinblowin何よりもスタッフの方々が優しく、困ったことがあれば本当に親身になって助けてくれます。また長期滞在する人も多く、スタッフも含めてみんな家族のような雰囲気です。(もちろん短期の滞在者もたくさんいます。) 立地もよく、目の前にコンビニ、日本食レストランがあります。ウランバートルの心臓部であるスフバータル広場と国立百貨店の間に位置し、アクセスで困ることもありません。 また現地ツアーは良心的な価格で、行きたいところに合わせて自由に組んでもらえます。食糧などは出発時に一式揃えてくれて、馬やラクダに乗ったりなどアクティビティも充実させてくれます。 今までに様々なゲストハウスに泊まったことがありますが、ここまで暖かく居心地の良いゲストハウスはモンゴルに限らずなかなかないのでは、と思います。是非オススメです！ I absolutely recommend this guesthouse, with really kind staffs, its perfect location and so exciting tours.

Reviewed By Jens BThe hotel is acceptable and a valid price (around 30$). You can have your private bathroom. The bathroom is small and the water is not really leaving the sink. Air smells a lot due to the smoking behaviour of prior guests. With open window you can survive. We got a welcome soup and the check in was fast. Good location of hotel.

Great value for money
Reviewed By Carla_LaguardiaWe stayed at Gana's two nights and has the ger on the rooftop. Shared toilet and shower -with hot water. We loved it! Very cozy with the fire that Gana lights up for you and very confortable bed. The view from there is interesting with the contrast of the more traditional houses and the big buildings in the distance. There are two big markets just around the corner, a mall with a supermarket about 5 minutes walk and the city center is only 2kms away. Gana is super helpful, he gives you directions, bus numbers and all info you request. Also, the price included breakfast and it was possible the best we had in all our trip. With the plus that he makes his own kitchen available for you so we didn't have to spend money un restaurantes or cafes -good for budget travellers-. We truly enjoyed it.
