Wonderful hostel
Reviewed By emilychoeBobbi and Muugi speak English fluently and are really nice and accommodating. They will also help you get train or bus tickets. The guest house itself is very clean, cheap, and in a very central location. I would highly recommend. You can also book a private room/apartment if with a bigger group.

Reviewed By 1waterchildI stayed in this guesthouse a total of 7 nights in as it was my homebase in UB, in between trips. Great location (close to the the city core, services like bank, public bus system, etc.) and very helpful and friendly host/owner. It felt like an apartment home because there is a kitchen and I was able to just relax, so I was able to cook meals easily. Reasonable costs. I am a solo traveler and stayed in the dorm.

We're happy to welcome you to our hostel owned/run by a friendly Mongolian family who is originally from the countryside and has an extensive experience in tourism sector. Our guests appreciate the hostel's atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, a chance to meet travelers from different countries, nice tailored tours, yummy breakfast and so on... In order to improve our facilities and comfort, we've just built a new house this year in 2014. The house is neither too big nor too small but ideal to keep the communication-friendly environment. Our Hostel is just two or three minute walk to the main avenue where there are many shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes and the banks and few hundred meters away to the biggest monastery of UB. It's also very close to one of the biggest local market where you can find things necessary for your countryside trip for a cheaper price. Actually, we're proud that we're one of the original hostels of UB, that have many years experience of arranging countryside tours for budget travelers while hosting them during their stay in UB. Here are the kinds of our fabulous and reliable tours that are waiting for you: - Gobi tour - Horse trekking in Terelj National park - Short trips to mini gobi, central Mongolia, national parks, lakes - City tour - Other tailor-made trips /Please send an e-mail for the details/ The hostel has kitchen, common room and outdoor area where it's easy to meet people if you are traveling alone. FREE BREAKFAST is available daily from 7 am -10 am. Parking space can be found in the garage of the hostel for free of charge. Laundry service at the hostel is also in handy. Reviewed By Gabriello WWe had such an amazing stay at Town Yard Hostel. Gan, Ayohna, and their whole family could not have been more welcoming to us. Even though we came during a quiet time they organised a great couple of days away in the mini-Gobi for us and accompanied us the whole way which was wonderful. They allowed us to share Mongolian New Years lunch with their family which was a very special moment and will certainly not be forgotten. Their extensive knowledge about the country makes for the best recommendations as they have connections all around the place. The hostel itself is very comfortable and Ayonha prepares great breakfasts every morning. It’s close to the city centre and within easy walking distance of all the major attractions. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, it’ll make your trip to Mongolia that bit more special.

Reviewed By Thibaut VThe team there is so dedicated! Two sisters own the hostel and they are two complete sweethearts. They listen, help, and advise travelers as much as they can. They both speak perfect Spanish but their nephew speaks perfect English. I stayed there several nights in between my excursions to the rest of Mongolia, as a base. They always came to find me at the airport, were never late, organized the best trips and made it all happen in such a short time. I recommend Gobi Guest House a million times!! Thibaut from Belgium

Reviewed By Eversummer1156My mother and I flew in, first time in country, in the middle of the night. We were met by the shuttle service w a sign and a smile. Friendly driver gave good travel tips in english. Arrived to find a nice comfortable room ready and waiting. Compimentary coffee is great! This place is sooooo quiet but even more than that, it is spotlessly clean!!!! The bathrooms and shower are immaculate. Great location as well. We highly recomend it!

Reviewed By DurianpizzaUnfortunately our stay at this particular hostel was below par by a long shot. Essentially none of what was promised on the booking happened. The host, Sara, had left for the city within the first hour of us arriving with absolutely no help or information that we really needed. The house was left open and unattended for the entire afternoon and night, all doors unlocked for anyone to wonder in off the street. We had to personally lock the front door to the house with our own locks. We didn’t receive any breakfast as there was nobody in the entire house. The beds had no blankets and were extremely hard, I mean extremely and if they weren’t hard they were completely slumped in the middle making it impossible to sleep on. Be careful if you do stay here, the hostess will prompt you to pay for tours and car rides through her and will insist that it’s the only way, even though this is the wrong information and just a money making scam for the vulnerable tourists. Due to this, we have strong reason to believe that because we didn’t book a tour through her and had organised our own way to up north that she informed the army about us being there before booking a place, even though we had organised a hostel once we arrived at our destination. This created unnecessary trouble and we lost an entire day. Other travellers we met along the way also had many troubles and horror stories of their stay in this place.
