Chalet Mur opened for Christmas 2014, based in the beautiful, unspoiled and traditional village of St Michael Im Lungau, we are perfectly placed for winter and summer holidays alike. The chalet offers 6 generously sized en-suite rooms with balconies and fast free full cover WIFI. After a memorable day in the mountains relax in our comfy lounge in front of the fire with a drink and slice of freshly baked cake. Dinner with complimentary wine is served in the communal dining room 6 nights per week which is included in our Half board pricing.

Her main concern is that you are having an enjoyable holiday, and to ensure this nothing is too much trouble. The Chalet is comfortable, and a place where you can relax and unwind with other guests after a day on the piste. There is a bus stop right outside the Chalet with regular services to all the local charming ski resorts which make up the Lungau domain. The room we stayed in was spacious and warm with a good sized ensuite bathroom. All the food at breakfast and dinner was of a high standard and the complimentary afternoon cake was something to look forward to once the ski boots were removed for the day. Recommended.

7th year with the Breukelen FC Veteranen
Reviewed By Bernard DBreukelen FC veteranen have been coming here to ski in January for 10 years, this was my 7th and we had a fantastic week skiing with sunny skies for 5 days and 1 cloudy day with a little early snow. I have slept in the main building and in the chalets and it's always been a nice stay. Paul and Sylvie as hosts are outstanding, they will do anything to help you. The rooms are clean, very comfortable and there are well equipt kitchens. There is free WiFi available in all rooms. The breakfast is outstanding so long as you don't expect a full English, it's a continental breakfast that will rival the best hotels anywhere in Europe. The breakfast area is also a meeting place in the evening with a well stocked drinks fridge with beers, wines and soft drinks. Tea and coffee also available. There's plenty of parking and for winter-sport enthusiasts, a room where you can leave your equipment, ski-boots in a heated rack and skis in a ski rack. If you need adjustments to your ski's then that can be done there also. Ski hire is just a 5 minute walk and the village itself is well worth a walk. Syl and Paul don't do lunches or evening meals but ask them where to eat in St Michael, most are within a 5-10 mins walk and you will get a good meal in any of them. So that's the positives, now the negatives. Hmmm..... No, there are no negatives that I can think of other than tea and coffee facilities in the room might be handy but then there are the kitchens so you don't really need them in the room. Whether you want a single night stopover or a few days or a week to stay in the Lungau region, you will be hard pushed to find a friendlier, more comfortable place to stay. Eckenhof is located in Sankt Michael in Lungau. Our House is located directly next to the Speiereck GondolaLift "Sonnenbahn" in a sunny location, 1 km walking distance from the Centre of St. Michael. Our House has 6 apartments (from 2 to maximum 7 persons) and 2 double rooms. There is a breakfast room where the breakfast is served and there is a computer with free internet. Here you can also sit in the evening and watch tv. All rooms are equipped with tv, Radio and CD player and the apartments have a private kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, 4 hotplates, oven, microwave etc. The 6 person apartments have two bedrooms, a bathroom with hairdryer, shower and/or bath and second toilet. Each apartment and room has a private balcony or terrace with garden seats. In the garden there is grill and play area for children. In the winter the House is next to the lift and the ski run. There is a big ski room for ski's and there are also shoe dryers. By the lift is a bus stop where you can go to other areas, such as Obertauern, Fanningberg and Katschberg. Lungau has more than 250 km of ski runs. If you want you can use our breakfast service. We can also cater for various diets (i.e gluten free or lactose free. In the summer we have a shed for your bicycle or motorcycle. For your car there is a parking place directly in front of the House.

The hosts were wonderful and helpful. They responded to inquiries very quickly and gave us all the information for a successful ski trip.

Friendly and convenient for skiing

Such a welcome was had from Thomas and family members that made our stay so special. Nothing was too much for them. The hotel is located a short walking distance from the ski slope and local shops. Good basic food was served. Comfortable and clean rooms although mine was a bit on the small side.

It is located near the river Mur the center oft St. Michael is just 5 minutes walk away and a bus station (skying) is right in Front. Clean, cosy well equipped rooms. Breakfast and Dinner served with a smile. And for those who travel with their "best friend" ?you find some people who welcome you ??.

They have a lot of toys outside, they even have boots for children for when it is raining. You feel at home because it is not that busy and more personal. Ones a week you eat at the lake 5/10 minutes away. What a Beautiful quiet place. We loved that secret place and the grill food too. The salads are very lovely too. The children can sit on the traktor and have marshmallows for desert. Ones a week you can also do the family walk. I recommend that too. The only thing is that they speak german and not English.

Ideal for a Skiing holiday
Reviewed By CraffwrComfortable room with TV. This holtel has a drying room for your ski boots, and a bus stop outside to catch the skibus to the nearby slopes. This hotel accommodates quite a lot of people. We were 90+ on our trip. Plenty of parking spaces as well. The food was fine considering they were catering for so many of us. Throughout the week we had fishfingers, chicken, sausage, chips, rice, spagetti etc. For breakfast, it was a buffett. There is a bar area in the hotel, but very often the tables were layed for breakfast and the bar man wasn’t always welcoming. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

Die Erweiterung des Hotelbereichs und einhergehend auch die Umgestaltung des Restaurantbereichs haben dem Haus gut getan und es noch einmal verbessert. Während des gesamten Aufenthalts ließ es die Familie Sampl keinen Moment lang an vorbildlicher Aufmerksamkeit mangeln, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu erscheinen. Wir drohen damit, bei unserer nächsten Fahrt in Europas Süden erneut als Gäste einzufallen.
