Reviewed By bdon257Four of us stayed here for one night in this peaceful hotel in this small hamlet in unspoiled countryside some distance from Passau. It is in a quiet location and we enjoyed a pleasant short stay here. The evening meal was tasty and the breakfast was very good indeed, with a comprehensive buffet with quality food on offer. The staff were helpful and friendly and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to visitors in this area.

Reviewed By ChristinaKLRThe restaurant is located in a picturesque landscape. The food is very good and the staff very polite. They speak English or at least they understand. We had a trout, pork medallions with mushrooms and deer burger (influenced by French cuisine). The beer of the restaurant's brewery was excellent! If you want to discover a hidden non touristic restaurant typical of the Bavarian landscape, this is the place to go!

Reviewed By Eugenio_aus_WienVery friendly staff, parking outside, quiet location however very tiny bedroom, the double bed barely fitting in the room, one side against the wall so one person had to jump out at the foot of the bed.... disappointing. The breakfast in the morning was VERY basic, some cold cuts of ham and cheese, bread and jam, some yogurt and fruit. Getting into town means a good 20min brisk walk...

Reviewed By knctdTerrible service, terrible stuff. Awful condition for sleepiing. I booked this hotel with my boyfriend during my trip to Austria. But I could not sleep, it’s terrible I had noise in my room coming from I guess plumbing and it was never stopped. I tried to find telephone in my room to reach reception and there’s no phone!! I went downstairs and there where nobody. I knocked on the door of reception guy and he never replied. It’s terrible it’s awful I would not recommend this hotel to nobody

Reviewed By genesys2010I was travelling with my wife and friends from Budapest to Great Britain and we were intending to spent the night in this location. After we booked the room we received an email from the hotel administriation to tells us that actually they don't have parking places - though on the website says they do have. They said that there is parking places near by the hotel about 600 meters. As a result of this we asked booking.com to waive the cancelation fee - obviously they did not agree with that, on top of that they said that we need to get at the hotel no later then 22:30 because the reception will be closed - we mentioned to them that the traffiv is jamed and will imposible to get to the hotel in time - no answer after that. I would not recomend this hotel not now not ever.

perfect passage place
Reviewed By BrunoD1We stayed here twice in one week time in passage between Belgium and Slovakia. The Gasthof is perfectly located at about 2/3 of the distance coming from Belgium. Close to the highway, so you don't lose any time driving into the countryside. Much more cosy than the typical roadside chain hotels (Etap, Ibis...) and great value for money. No luxury, but a decent family owned place where you can relax in between long distances on the road. Plus points: proximity to the highway, personal service, reasonable prices, a feeling of peace and quiet and conviviality. There was nothing we did not like, but earlier breakfast would allow leaving earlier to avoid traffic problems.
