In 1715, margrave Karl III Wilhelm decided he needed more space than he had in Durlach, so he moved his capital to Karlsruhe and had it designed in circular spokes around his new palace. Because of its unique radial shape, Karlsruhe is sometimes called the “fan city.” Home to Germany’s most important federal courts, the city accordingly teems with civil servants. Karlsruhe Schloss (castle) was badly damaged in World War II, but was rebuilt and is now home to the Badisches Landesmuseum.

Very Unsafe
Reviewed By Navigator770188In the room next to ours two girls were being abused, while two other men were standing guard outside the hotel entrance door. When we complained, the hotel manager didn't respond until we told her we were going to call the police. We had confronted the men who were holding the girls and they very agressively warned us to stay out of their business. The police arrived several minutes later, but said they couldn't do anything as long as the girls didn't file a complaint (which of course they did not; the men were still around). Feeling threatened we couldn't stay at the hotel and had to move to another place to stay. The hotel had the audacity to charge us for the room anyway.

Da gibt es deutlich bessere in Karlsruhe
Reviewed By ChristophH861Ich hatte das Hotel gebucht weil es in unmittelbarer fußläufiger Nähe zum Bundesgerichtshof ist wo ich zu tun hatte. Kurz vor meiner Anreise wurde das Frühstück abgesagt was aus meiner Sicht gar nicht geht. Das ersatzweise angebotene Frühstück in fußläufiger Nähe (badische Backstube Stube) war eine Katastrophe. Das Zimmer war so lala laut nach vorne wegen der Straßenbahn Kleinbad quasi offen im Zimmer keine richtige Heizung sondern Heizung über die Klimaanlage was gar nicht geht also alles in allem würde ich beim nächsten Mal ein anderes Hotel aufsuchen

Very pleasant stay
Reviewed By globetrotauvergnatI spent two nights in this pleasant hostel, ideally located in the center of the charming Weingarten village (Weingarten is just about 15 min by car, or 10 min with the S-Bahn from Karlsruhe main train station). The Gasthaus zur Krone is a beautiful and very well kept half-timbered house. You will be welcomed by a charming, discrete and helpful lady, as if you were at home. I felt like a real guest, and I really enjoyed the fact of staying in a family owned business, rather than in one of these standard hotel, which all look the same. The hostel seems to be very freshly renovated and refurbished, as everything is in perfect state. It's also very clean and quiet. Bedrooms are wide enough, comfortable, and well equipped. They are also very calm: no noise in corridors, nor from the streets, as in winter time, the village falls asleep after 6 PM. Breakfast is OK. Good buffet with enough choice / not too excessive. On the second evening, I could enjoy as well the chef's cuisine: very generous portions of freshly prepared home-made and tasty food, for very good price. The place seems quite renowned, as many people even come to eat, without staying in the hostel. I had the pleasure as well to be asked by the cook himself whether I liked the food (he did the same to all his guests of the day). Still, be aware that food is served only till 9PM, and that in winter time, it's more or less the same in every of the surrounding restaurants. In short, very pleasant stay. If I go back to Weingarten, I'll surely stay there again.

Angenehmer und ruhiger Aufenthalt
Reviewed By Carmen BDas Hotel liegt zwar direkt an der Strasse, es ist aber sehr ruhig und angenehm zum Übernachten. Das Doppelzimmer ist nicht riesig, aber reicht vollkommen aus. Sehr sauber. Auch das Frühstück war reichhaltig und gut. Hingegen habe ich die Ovo vermisst. Leider gab es keine Möglichkeit am Abend noch etwas zu trinken. Hätte auswärts gehen müssen. Würde aber jederzeit wieder buchen.

MUST STAY HERE!
Reviewed By Lisa HWe absolutely loved the Schloss Neuburg!! The owner and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Most spoke enough English to get us by. The location is lovely! Quiet and on a hill with a great view. The ground were beautiful to walk thru - pretty flowers and comfortable. Didn't feel like a 'stuffy' place but rather a garden you could sit and enjoy a glass of wine. We stayed on the 2nd floor and our room was large! On a corner with great natural light coming from large windows. The restaurant was by far the best we had on our 2.5 week Germany trip! They have a beautiful outside dining area as well as plenty of indoor seating. The free breakfast was also delicious!! A fantastic spread of meats, cheeses, fruits, and breads/sweets. The price wasn't bad either! Overall, the best place we stayed in Europe! We were so sad to leave this place!!! I wish I could give it more then 5 stars!

With style, comfort and great amenities. For example, each apartment has a full kitchen with coffee maker, kettle, cookware, fridge with freezer and microwave. - and welcome coffee and tea for the first morning. The apartment rates include free Wi-Fi, all utilities and final cleaning. Welcome.

Wir können die Unterkunft nicht empfehlen!
Reviewed By ute lDie Unterkunft ist hübsch eingerichtet und ausserordentlich sauber. Sie steht in einem interessanten Gegensatz zu den vielen Punkrockmemorabilia, mit denen sie dekoriert ist. Die Begrüßung war freundlich. Bei einem kurzen Rundgang erhielten wir eine Einweisung in die als Fremdenzimmer genutzte Etage und die Benutzungsregeln der Gemeinschaftseinrichtungen (Badezimmer und Küche). Das Gemeinschaftsbad war schön und sauber, allerdings fand ich das Bild von einem völlig verdreckten Klo neben der Toilette mit Hinweis auf die gewünschte Nutzung der Toilettenbürste ekelhaft. Die Türen auf der Etage waren kaum leise zu schließen, es ist sehr hellhörig. Aus der erhofften geruhsamen Nacht wurde nichts - das als Doppelbett angebotene Bett im grünen Zimmer ist extrem schmal (gefühlt 1,30 m, wir haben nicht nachgemessen). Die Matratze war für uns viel zu weich- wenn der eine sich herumdrehte, gab es eine Wellenbewegung, die den anderen sofort wach gemacht hat. Morgens kündigte sich bei meinem Mann ein Hexenschuss an und wir beide waren völlig gerädert. Wir haben dann beschlossen, keine weitere Nacht zu bleiben, und haben um kurz nach sieben Uhr das Haus verlassen. Den Vermietern, die wir so früh am Wochenende nicht stören wollten, haben wir sofort eine Mail geschrieben. Da wir schon zwei Nächte im Voraus bezahlt hatten, haben wir um eine Kulanzregelung gebeten. Auch unsere zweite Mail war den Gastgebern nicht einmal eine Antwort wert. Im Übrigen ist zu sagen, dass neben allem anderen das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis jedenfalls bei uns nicht gestimmt hat. 76,00 Euro für ein Zimmer mit sehr schmalem Bett, Gemeinschaftsbad und ohne Frühstück ist selbst in Karlsruhe deutlich zu teuer.

Exklusives Hotel in zentraler Lage
Reviewed By Moppel17Freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal empfängt Sie an der Rezeption. Schon der Eintritt in das neu eröffnete Hotel versprüht ein Hauch von Luxus und einem besonderen Ambiente. Das fünfstöckige Hotel verfügt über ausreichend Zimmer in unterschiedlicher Preisklasse. Von der Infrastruktur sind eine hervorragend geführte Bar sowie zwei Lounge im Innenbereich, sowie abendliche Speisemöglichkeiten gegeben. Auch punktet das Hotel mit der zentralen Lage, zu Fuß ist die Innenstadt bequem in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer lässt keine Wünsche offen (äußerst leise Klima, Minibar kostenlos, schallgedämpfte Fenster etc), kleinere Mängel (fehlende Gläser im Badbereich) sind eher der Neueröffnung zuzuschreiben. Vorzügliche Cocktail, Bar mit abgetrennten Raucherbereich (Zigarren im Angebot) und viel Platz in den innen liegenden Loungen laden zum Verweilen ein. Gelegentlich legt am Wochenende der DJ auf.... Frühstück in der Auswahl ausreichend, guter Kaffee, Espresso....etc Angenehmes Hotel auf hohem Niveau, bezahlbare Preise.

Pochissime case ma fortunatamente c'e questo posticino per mangiare formidabile. Ottima cucina tedesca e cucinata al momento. Personale gentile anche se parlano solo germanico ( ci si intende comunque). Prezzi onestissimi . Arrivare presto perche ' anche se' e' estate , essendo il locale familiare, non fa le ore piccole ( non arrivare dopo le otto alla sera). Superconsigliato
