Reviewed By Ian SA friendly guest house situated a 10 minute walk from the centre of this picturesque little town on the Volga river . The staff are pleasant and helpful but do not expect any English . . The breakfasts are freshly cooked to order and there is plenty to eat . Dinner ,if taken, is basic Russian food . The rooms are adequate in size , comfortable and furnished in local cottage style . The town is quaint, a mixture of pretty renovated houses or houses in need of restoration . Plenty of little market shops for tourists and restaurants . The art galleries are especially interesting with pictures by important Russian artists of local scenes

Incredible place with delicious food
Reviewed By Tatiana TThe small hotel (10 rooms) and a restaurant are located on a hill in a Russian province. From the terrace you have a breathtaking view on the Volga river and native Russian landscape. Rooms are decorated in a mixture of Russian village and French provance with cute small things that make you feel like at home. The cost of the room includes incredible breakfast: pancakes, fried eggs, cereals, jams, muffins, red caviar, sour cream, fruits, duck liver pate, fresh juices, coffee, tea. Delicious! Most of products are delivered from the farm that also belongs to the hotel owner. The staff of the hotel takes care of the guest. You may have excurcions to the nearest Russian towns with long history (Ples, Kostroma, Palekh). The last one is famous for its traditional Russian laquer miniature boxes. You may entertain yourself at master class of cooking famous Russian pirozhki, sing songs or simply relax listening birds singing. This is a small, boutique hotel with incredible art atmosphere. You also may have lunch and dinner with fresh farm food.

Reviewed By Valentin RHotel is conveniently located in a picturesque and quite area on Gora Svobody, but still it will take just several minutes to get to the town's center, embankment and most of the sights. You're embraced with hospitality and kindness (actually, it starts a bit earlier - when you're booking your stay) of personnel just immediately after your arrival. Breakfast is both tasty and healthy, additionally you may have tea (or coffee) with hand-made pies (absolutely delicious!) and jam whenever you like and for free in the kitchen. Moreover, the hotel itself could boast both attractive design (nicely furnished) and modern convenience. Well, it was a wonderful stay and obviously I'll choose the same hotel when I'm in Plyos next time!

Reviewed By Stefania FWe stayed in Hotel Zolotoi Ples for one night in January. It is located not far from the bus station where we arrived, we walked 10 or 15 minutes maximum. At the reception we found a nice woman who gave us the key and took us to the room. The room was how we sow it in the pictures, clean and smelling nice. Our room had a TV and Wi-Fi connection (not perfectly working), but they are unnecessary when you can relish a good company and such a nice view from the window. The Hotel is provided with a small kitchen with the minimum requirement if one wants to prepare himself something fast to eat or an hot tea. Better if you speak a little bit of Russian, in order to understand each other for basic information. Everything was nice and we really enjoied our time. Thank you!

A restful and enjoyable stay
Reviewed By KPS918Staying at this hotel was pleasant and restful. I was greeted by a friendly staff that immediately checked me in. I arrived early, but the staff had an available room and kindly welcomed me. The large room was well appointed. The furniture was comfortable and functional. The room was well lit and spotless. The large windows allowed me to enjoy the view of the snowy landscape. The hotel is conveniently located, yet surprisingly quiet. I was able to concentrate and catch up on some work. The wifi signal was strong and reliable. I streamed videos while simultaneously performing other bandwidth intensive tasks. I used room service and was impressed by the prompt delivery. The menu selection was vast and the food was outstanding. I also enjoyed a fabulous lunch in the restaurant, served by a gracious staff. I visited the spa and found the facilities to be spotless, like the rest of the hotel. The pool temperature was perfect and the sauna melted away the stress of the day. I know it contributed to a perfect sleep. The hotel was silent at night and my sleep was restful. I am pleased that I selected this hotel. My stay left pleasant memories and I look forward to returning in the future.
