Top experience!

The rooms were spacious and clean. The property has onsite parking and is near the historic centre but far enough not to be bothered by the noise. The host, Maradona, was absolutely fantastic and one of the most helpfully hosts I've met on my trips. Since it can be difficult to psrk in the historic centre, Maradona will take you there and pick you up whenever you need. He also seems to know everyone in town, and he'll give you recommendations for places to visit and for restaurants if you need. Before we checked out, Maradona also gave us some tips for our onward journey. Really grateful as wouldn't have visited the Blue Eye otherwise.

Fantastic Hotel

The hotel was wonderful. It's a traditional-style house, with beautiful windows and windowseats, benches, and decorations. The wifi was excellent, I was able to get a lot of work done without a problem. The location was terrific, just a little out of the way of the hustle and bustle, but an easy walk to just about everything. Breakfast was terrific and delicious! The hosts were absolutely wonderful. They went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed, and when there was a problem with the bus departures and schedules being different, they actually came to the bus station and helped me track down a bus leaving at the right time, complete with the driver's phone number!

Room with a spectacular view!

Reviewed By Boo73

We arrived in Gjiroskaster in the early afternoon and then resorted to google maps to navigate our way to Stone Rooms. The route that was suggested was up so many steep cobbled streets with horrific bends that in the end, partly out of terror and partly out of helpless mirth of where we were expected to drive the car we ended up back in the main square, parked the car and took a taxi for about 500 lek. In short, Stone Rooms is close to the top of the old town and whilst the view is amazing give it a bit of thought as to how you are going to get there. The taxi took no time at all and there is some parking if you can make it. Stone Rooms is accessed via an ancient gate and you emerge into a lovely garden with fabulous views, lots of tortoises and a small area with tables and chairs where we had breakfast. Lovely warm welcome from the family who run Stone Rooms. The room was beautifully furnished, comfortable, with far reaching views over the valley. I sat and watched a shepherd on the nearby hill, with his herd, whistling occasionally and it was like stepping back in time. There is a fan to keep the warm air moving in the room which was welcome, The shower room was en suite and whilst very efficient had a definite pong from the drains. We had breakfast the following morning, delicious, jams, cake, eggs, coffee, just divine. We walked up and down the hill a number of times whilst we were in Gjirokaster and in reality the bazaar etc is only 15 minutes or so away but you do need a mindset that says yes, this is fine I can walk up a vertical road! Highly recommended and there is lots to see in Gjirokaster.
