The 10 best Bed and Breakfast Inns in Emilia-Romagna, Italy

April 27, 2023 Vivienne Hutton

Nearly crossing northern Italy from the Adriatic Sea westward, Emilia-Romagna gets its name from Via Emilia, the Rimini-to-Piacenza ancient Roman road it straddles. With a rich mix of age-old agriculture and modern industry, the region is home to many historic and cultural gems, both in its larger towns like Bologna, Modena and Ravenna, as well as in its many small hilltop villages. Of course, the region’s best offerings also include native culinary wonders like parmigiano cheese and tortellini.

You & Me Beach Hotel

Modern Beach Hotel with great staff.

Reviewed By morganenright1

We enjoyed a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this hotel. It is very modern and stylish, right on the beach. The rooms are superb, very well appointed, ours had a whirlpool bath and a small balcony. Immaculately clean throughout. The breakfast was delicious and the ladies at breakfast were very friendly and courteous. We had lunch and cocktails by the pool which was fantastic, the piade are delicious. The staff were polite and helpful, Tania was extremely helpful in organising our trip and gave us many helpful tips for authentic restaurants with amazing pasta as well as nearby places to visit such as Cesenatico & Sant’Arcangelo which we could definitely recommend visiting. We used the hotel bikes to cycle into Rimini itself which is full of history and character, lovely old centre to walk around. If you want a modern hotel with friendly staff right on the beach then this place is for you. Highly recommended.

Incredible Location and People!

Reviewed By clpimental

I can not say enough great things about 051 Suites. We recently stayed there, and due to an unfortunate flight situation, we lost an entire night stay and were only there for one night. Once we arrived, they ensured we had the best time we could in Bologna. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, the concierge (Camilla) made our entire trip. She gave us incredible recommendations and even scored us a dinner reservation. The breakfast included is also delicious, and the location can not be beat. I will recommend this spot to anyone looking to travel to Bologna!

Lovely place!

I only spent one night here but can say it is immaculately clean, really close to the train station, and is run by a very nice and informative owner. Giovy almost cried too watching my sister and I meet for the first time in almost 5 years (we just happened to be vacationing in Italy at the same time). Easy walk to historic areas, and he gave us some great suggestions of things to see that we had not seen on prior visits. He is extremely responsive and helpful.

Great renovated farmhouse in the countryside

Reviewed By Dagan E

Between Reggio Emilia and Parma, in the middle of the fields, we found this nicely renovated farmhouse. As we are a family with two kids (1 baby), we booked a two bedroom room in the 1st floor. The owner, Andrea, was very friendly and helpful since the first email correspondence. The rooms were large and clean, and breakfast was fine. The location is good, not far from Parma, Modena, Fidenza (shopping), Castell'Arquato, etc.

The perfect place to stay in Parma

Reviewed By Bridget E

Right from the start, with my initial booking enquiry about Opera 11 R&B, Roberto could not have been any more helpful and welcoming. He was there to greet us on our arrival. We were in the room on the second floor (there is one room per floor) and it was comfortable, charming and clean. The kitchen and breakfast room is on the ground floor as you enter and you are made to feel welcome to help yourself to all the facilities and drinks. In the mornings Francesca has all the breakfast ready for you to help yourself, and again, is super friendly and welcoming. Opera 11 is perfectly placed for anything that you wish to see in Parma and in the heart of fantastic bars, restaurants and galleries, etc and is easy walking distance from the station. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying at Opera 11 R&B to anyone, and very much hope that we will stay there on our next visit to Parma

Great B&B in Beautiful Ravenna

Reviewed By davidisings

We rented the studio with our little boy of 1 year. All expactations of a nice cozy B&B in Italy were met. The owner Massimiliano was superfriendly - although only spoke Italian - in the morning and "playing" with our little boy. The B&B is on a perfect location and everything is walkable. There is a private parking inside the gate. This was the most clean B&B we have ever stayed in, we easily allowed the boy to play and crawl on the ground. The breakfast was a choice of delicacies you have to order seperately the night before, don't know if this post-covid is also like this or a buffet. But we had an excellent and relaxed stay and we will come back in a few years. Also a shout out to Michele - the son of the owners - who was very helpfull at the check-in and all questions we had and as a pre he speaks very good english, so non-italian speakers don't be afraid to book here.

Great stay in lovely quiet hotel, you can walk onto the marches from just behind the structure and birdwatch. The owners and hosts are so kind and go out of their way to make the stay nice with endless information and delicious food! The room was also very nice, it was cleaned while we where out in the morning, only note, the bed was not comfortable, as I like a firm mattress, and possibly needs changing. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return, thank you both!

B&B Lattemiele

Very nice and quiet one-night stay with friends, amazing cakes and sweets at breakfast

Reviewed By GianlucaMarcellino

Our friends and us took up all two rooms in this lovely quiet B&B for a Saturday night while visiting some sights near Parma. The place is quite far from the city, near to the sights we were coming to visit so very convenient if you can drive there. The couple who hosted us is very friendly, and so are their dogs - so much, the latter, that the couple understandably keeps them away as one of them very enthusiastically greets strangers. Advice on where to buy food and go to eat was spot on, including the amazing Mezzadri restaurant barely a minute's walk from here. Breakfast was just as amazing, with a combination of breads, cakes, biscuits quite as rich as a 4-star hotel's, and much better in quality. The landlady did offer to cook eggs and bring more substantial savoury breakfast, which we have yet to try. Rooms were very freshly refurbished, with a mattress that's better than that I use at home. The neighbourhood is few houses. a couple miles away from the main town, itself a few miles from Parma. As quiet as it gets short of a lone house in the countryside. In the morning, the landlord greeted us and treated us to his story and world view, if pleasantly enough and for few minutes. He kindly took our hint while we were still enjoying it, and he even took some comments, making it very nearly a two-way conversation. I will leave it for you to hear directly. Highly recommended for visiting castles around Parma and other sights in the area. Prices are also very reasonable.
