Superb for swimming. I go every morning and afternoon. No sharks , they rather stay in Recife. Very beautiful bay and quiet as well. I imagine Rio de Janeiro was more or less the same in the fifties and every sixties

Praia de Tambaba

Tambaba Beach is well known for the nudist beach but that's only a private area there. When you arrive in Tambaba you find an amazing place full of nature and beautiful landscape. It's suitable for family with kids because the water is calm without big waves. The easiest way to get there is by car or buggy. You can stop in Coqueirinho Beach before which is very close. Jacare Beach

Reviewed By DelfinoEdward - Lucena, Brazil

“Alligator Beach” is the translation of the name of this beach. It’s not much of a beach, because it actually is on the main river of the state of Paraiba (the Paraiba River, surprise!). Jacare has become famous for watching the sunset, mostly because of one man and his saxophone. Every evening, Jurandy plays Ravel’s “Bolero” to celebrate the sunset & has played this song more times than anyone else in the world (more than 4,000 times!)—he’s in the Guinness Book of World Records. The area has lots of bars, and they’re all full to watch the sunset and Jurandy playing “Bolero” in a boat in the river as the sun sets. It’s quite a spectacle & really enjoyable. The restaurants are full of spectators and the service in all the bars is quick and the food is decent. This is truly something you must do if you’re anywhere near here, and you won’t be disappointed.
