Their goal was to create a top quality English retreat, where people could not only study English and Chinese, but also enjoy the beautiful scenery, sights, and atmosphere of Lijiang. Woods & Weeds is a cocktail bar in the old town of Dali, Yunnan province, that crafts drinks primarily using locally sourced ingredients. The bar is run by a Chinese American from San Francisco and his wife, a Wuhan, Hubei province, native. Both worked as journalists in Beijing before moving to Dali in March 2017.

The Backyard is a bar & grill restaurant, it focuses on fresh food using good ingredients and having a limited selections of dishes to keep the best quality as possible. We keep our prices reasonable in order to sell out everything the same day.

We tried this bar out by accident and we were very pleased. The staff is friendly and the food, most importantly is awesome. The burger ans the steaks were served with fries and a salad or coleslaw. Probably the best western food in Dali. The Coffee was good and the fruit juices are amazing. It's a little hidden away, but you will find it in a little alley. The venue seems small at first but has terraces with comfortable sofas. I'd recommend all to try, One last note, they have a truly lovely dog, came up to say hi, then lied down and sunbathed, a well-trained dog.
