Laurieston Bar

A must visit pub if you're in Glasgow. You always receive a warm welcome from the friendly and efficient bar staff. The pub attracts a clientele of all ages and everyone contributes to the excellent atmosphere. The decor is a throwback to the 1960s with formica topped bar and tables. It also includes a genuine pie warmer from that era. Nothing pretentious about this place. Just a wonderful example of what a pub should be.

The Louden Tavern: Ibrox Stadium

Reviewed By Brian7392 - Milngavie, United Kingdom

First of all this is a Rangers Football Club themed pub with limited opening times, mostly around football matches taking place at Ibrox so anyone thinking of going for a drink will need to check opening times first. The event I was at took place on Saturday 5 September and there was lots of stalls selling Rangers related items of interest for like minded individuals. Inside both the bar and lounge the walls are decorated with all things Rangers with a red, white and blue theme throughout. There is a large beer garden at the back, some of it covered.

This was my first visit here since it used to be Rileys, and there are big changes ... for the better. The staff were friendly, the feel was nice, and the place was well looked after. If you play, the tables are really good. 6 or so Sam K Steel Amerixan pool tables in really good shape. The only gripe is that they put style over substance with too-dim lighting, and purple cloth. What! A bunch of British pool and snooker tables, too, with sensible green cloth, ping-pong, and a nice bar with TV sports area. Most pool halls aren't really spots the girls choose, but this had great ladies rates and family offers, and it's got a friendly, safe feel.

This is a fantastic, classic style pub and one of few left in the area like it. It is always incredibly inviting, punters are friendly and staff incredibly accommodating and helpful. I have not seen a pub run as well as this during current covid times. Great place to go watch the sport, be it horse racing or football with a very mixed support between the Glasgow teams that drink in the pub. Never any trouble either. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic pub going experience.
