Posada del Virrey is perfectly located in the Tequisquiapan's historic center, a fact made especially impressive given that they have free secure parking as well as a beautiful outdoor pool. Staff is gracious and accommodating, and the facilities are safe and secure. Highly recommended, we will definitely stay here on any return trips.

We were recommended this hotel as somewhere pleasant to stay whilst visiting a friend and were pleasantly surprised (as was she) as to how comfortable and accommodating this family-run hotel is. It is a relatively small, exclusive hotel, (21 rooms I think?) staffed by some of the loveliest and most helpful people I've ever know in holiday accommodation. Our 'room' is actually a villa, perfect as it means our little boy can sleep in the bedroom and we can still spend the evening together in the living area. The room is equipped with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker, alongside a small dining table, so we weren't tied down to constantly eating out, which was lovely - we could go into the market and pick what we fancied, which was perfect. The beds are comfortable and generous, and the bedroom fitted with air conditioning which has been a godsend. There is also a bathroom with a very large shower and the towels are plentiful and replenished daily (although you only get one facecloth which is a little odd?) We had had so much fun in the pools - we have come in off season, I think, and we had them to ourselves for the majority of the time. They are heated to a lovely comfortable temperature and there are some big deep pools and some smaller, shallower ones ideal for little ones to splash about. No shortage of sun loungers and the staff of the restaurant popped out throughout the day if you wanted drinks, snacks, ice creams or indeed full meals - they set up a table outside especially for us to eat lunch without having to change out of our swimwear. The restaurant itself is modern and clean and the food very good, whether I'd be simple pasta or chips up to the steaks which are excellent quality and well priced. The waitress we had was very kind and helped us muddle through as non-Spanish speakers! The breakfasts were delicious and we can recommend the hot cakes! The Reception desk were also very helpful, with the lovely, helpful Isla helping out as translator for some of the trickier bits! The hotel provide a minibus that can run you into town and back which was extremely helpful - and you can have a chat with the parrots whilst you wait! We have had an honestly lovely stay and would highly recommend the establishment - we'd be more than happy to stay again some time!

Camas y almohadas un poco duras, t.v.con buena programacion, sin wifi en recamaras ni comedor,(para mi no hay problema),alberca climatizada y techada mediana riquisima,me gustaria se ampliara un poco el horario. Incluye desayuno tipo buffet,muy basico, para nosotros suficiente, area de juegos infantiles, jardin bien cuidado,tranquilo,seguro,pero lo que lleva las 5 estrellas es la atencion de primera que nos dieron las personas que trabajan ahi,siempre coordiales y dispuestos a que nuestra estancia fuera placentera. Tuvimos dos incidentes que de inmediato solucionaron. Gracias

Reviewed By Dena pI paid 200 more pesos for the night than my booking.com reservation said. They said my card was just to reserve but had already charged my card when I arrived. It was very very cold inside, the toilet didn't work, and there is no wifi in the room... you have to sit by the front desk to get wifi. There are no bedside tables nor lamps. Only one overhead lamp that must be turned off near the door. Overpriced for what you get. Sure it is very convenient to the cute, cute center but what a terrible place to stay.

Absolutely Beautiful
Reviewed By Sash122We spent a night here for the wine and cheese festival. The hotel was beautiful. We got a sweet for around 60 USD. There was a full kitchen with a table, three small balconies, great bathroom, living room area, spacious bedroom with two queen sized beds, and a flat screen tv. The pool was beautiful and the entire setting is great if you like brick walls. It had a great location being only about three blocks from the historic district. We took the bus from Queretaro and walked to the hotel without any trouble. Although it said there would be Wi-Fi it was pretty weak signal, but enough to allow us to check social media. The room is very private since each room is located on its own floor (sort of; it kind of makes up its own floor). All in all, our experience here was great! Would definitely go back.

A great property in a wonderful location

We found the hotel to exceptionally clean and organized, with great service in all areas of the property from reception, to housekeeping to the restaur. The staff and management could not have been nicer! We will definitely return, as the hotel has a great central location and is easy to reach in the state of Queretaro. And plenty of free parking!!
