South Ayrshire Bed and Breakfast Inns | Places to Stay in South Ayrshire

April 24, 2023 Jasper Kershner

The village of Alloway is home to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and the Robert Burns Heritage Trail. Highlights of the trail include Auld Kirk Alloway, Burns Cottage, Burns Monument Gardens and the 13th century Brig O'Doon. South of Alloway along the attractive A719 coastal road is Culzean Castle and Country Park which offers much of interest all ages. En route is an unusual roadside attraction called Electric Brae, a 'magnetic hill' where a car left out of gear will appear to go uphill due to an optical illusion. A few minutes drive from Culzean Castle is the famous Open Golf championship course at Turnberry where the clubhouse is open to the public.

Lovely place where you are well looked after

Reviewed By C3944KKcarolinep

I really enjoyed my stay. The guest house is set in a peaceful, leafy part of the town and had all the facilities you could need. The room was bright and spotlessly clean, with a massive comfy bed which I was sad to leave behind! The room had all that you could need, including a walk in wardrobe, nice en-suite and coffee/tea area including a china cup and saucer. The staff were also lovely and genuinely helpful. I had paid £6 for an options breakfast and expected it to be continental for that price - but a full cooked breakfast was on offer, as well as variations such as Eggs Benedict and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. A central buffet area complimented this with cereals, yoghurt and fruit. Really couldn’t fault the place and was most impressed. Very good value all round.

We visited Ayr for the races and stayed at The Burnside for two nights. The guesthouse is in a peaceful location 10 minutes walk from the centre of town but very near the coast, in fact we stayed in the room at the top of the house and witnessed beautiful sunsets over the Isle of Arran. The house is spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, linen sheets and great pillows! Breakfast was promptly served and delicious. Thank you Paul

10/10. Best bed and breakfast I've stayed in. Would highly recommend. Trying to book a local hotel in the area but everywhere was booked up. This bed and breakfast was a great find. Much better than any hotel I would have got. If I'm ever out this way again I know where I'll be staying. The place is spotless, the bed is comfy and the breakfast is outstanding.

Fantastic stay

Reviewed By westwing2

We stayed for three nights and had a fantastic stay. The house is in a lovely street with some beautiful houses, the street is quiet and less than 10 minutes walk from Ayr train station. Our room (room 3) was large, bright with a large bathroom, mini fridge with fresh milk and water, kettle Azera coffee and tea. There is a large kitchen for everyone’s use with another fridge and fully fitted, it was very clean with nice views to the garden. The whole house and rooms are extremely clean. Any staff we met were very nice and chatty, the location was great and having stayed here now I would not stay anywhere else in Ayr.
