The four of us went there for lunch. Hotel Postgaarden is an old inn sitting on the main street of the little of Soro. It is only a 10 minute walk from the Academy grounds.
We had fish, accompanied by beer and soda. Afterwards we had coffee and cake.
The meal was very well prepared, the portions perhaps to the smallish side but so was the price. Very good and strong coffee was served after the meal accompanied by a tasty slice of cake.
There is a nice atmosphere in this place - and the service is no less than impeccable. We left in high spirits. This was a good experience.

You can sit inside, and with the doors/windows wide open, there is a nice view of the city square just in front of you. There are also tables outsider der large big black umbrellas. Truly Italian style. The interior is nicely decorated, with funny quotes on the wall. Like: "House Rules: Love each other, laugh a lot, never give up."
We had penne, one gorgonzola and one diavola. Two pints of dark Carl's. Just time for an espresso. Arrivederci.

This classy restaurant serving fine dining was recommended to us by Danish friends. With sparkling glassware, damask tablecloths, and impeccable service it's probably the best place in Soro for a special meal. We ate steak and fish with both cooked well. We'll try the tasting menu next time!

As many other minor cities the majority of restaurants in Sorø are either fast food restaurants og hotel restaurants. This us a little strange since Sorø has many tourist attractions an lies like a green oasis with Forests and lakes in the middle of Zealand less than an hour from Copenhagen. However, there is an exception; a small oasis in the oasis - Cafe Tre Konger in Oestergade only two minutes from the town hall square. It is housed in a former cinema with a charming interior + if the wether is warm and sunny, there are tables in a nice backyard. We have been there several times, and last we tried their omelettes. They were perfect. Service was polite and quick, and the beer had the right temperature. Cheers!

Not what I expected. The chips was just OK. The fish it self tasted fine and was nice and flaky; but had been fried in old oil. Not good.

Just what we needed for lunch, pizza and cake. My husband and I shared a pizza, then he had a carrot cake muffin and hot chocolate and I had an Americano coffee and a directorsnel kage, that is Danish for what we would call a chocolate coated Danish pastry.
All very nice, I would recommend this place.

Restaurant Kragerup Gods servers gourmet food based on meat from our own cattle farm and fruits and vegetables from our own garden . The food is always cooked from scratch, and every day you can scents homemade bread or cake when you move around on the estate .

Breakfast buffet with hotel was an open buffet of generally very good freshly cooked and prepared food, yoghurt, eggs, cheeses and bread with some smoothies and juice. Lunches were freshly prepared sandwiches.
Dinner was a wonderful combination of local food, well prepared and presented.
Highly recommend.

Vi kom forbi om eftermiddagen efter en lang gåtur ved søen og fik et stykker lækker kage med hvid chokolade og lemonade. Senere vendte vi tilbage til aftensmad, hvor vi fik lækre rodfrugtechips med aioli og et tapasbræt til deling og herefter oksemedaljoner med bacon, nye kartofler, garniture og en god sauce til. Alt har været meget velsmagende og lavet af gode råvarer, der var perfekt tilberedt. Serveringspigerne mangler lidt rutine, så derfor får Parnas ikke topkarakter, men de er meget søde, og stedet er absolut et besøg værd. Der er geder og høns og legeplads i området og det er tæt på en badebro, hvor man kan stige på båden, der sejler på Sorø Sø. Man kan dagen i forvejen bestille en picnic-kurv, der eksempelvis kan tages med på sådan en tur eller bare til at nyde i det hyggelige område.
