Hotel Piran

Hotel Piran was renovated for the 100 years anniversary in 2013 with an upgrade to 4*. The hotel design is based on the cultural heritage of the building with chic decoration. Hotel Piran offers you 15 spacious suites and 74 modern 4* rooms. After a day at the beach which is located at the doorsteps of the hotel lobby, you may enjoy a sundowner on the rooftop terrace and taste the Mediterranean culinary experience at the hotel restaurant.

Top location, extremely friendly staff, but missing some extras for a 4* hotel

Reviewed By HNina

The hotel has an awesome location directly at the sea. Parking is available at a garage 5 min drive away and there is a convenient shuttle available that runs back and forth. The rooms are spacious, but make sure to book one overlooking the sea, as the rooms facing the street can get a bit loud due to traffic below. We would have loved some extra items in the room (as it is a 4* hotel), like slippers and cottonbuds. The beds were ok, but it seems there is a protective sheet underneath the bed linen which is quite loud when turning around at night. Be careful with the body lotion which is provided in the bathroom if you have any skin allergies, as it contains alcohol and can give you a rash (did to me). Breakfast is magnificent and very tasty, would return only for having a breakfast there again.

Hotel Marina

The old Mediterranean town of Izola nestles on the south western coast of the Gulf of Trieste, where the genuine tradition of fishing and winemaking, and the friendliness of the locals join into an unforgettable mosaic of experiences. Hotel Marina is located in the very centre of this small town. Izola’s turbulent history has contributed to the creation of beautiful architectural treasures and ancient legends that take you back in time to when Izola was still an island. Hotel guests can breathe the fresh sea air from their hotel rooms, as most of them face out toward Izola harbour. The hotel offers more than 100 beds in 49 air-conditioned and modern rooms. The beach is located only 200 metres from the hotel. The ground floor of the hotel is something for those who love pampering. We offer Finnish and infra-red sauna, whirlpool and massages. We recommend a visit to the Restaurant Hotel Marina. Freshly prepared Mediterranean specialties will convince even the most sceptical.

Location, customer service, comfort and food make this play the ONLY place to stay.

Definitely the only place to stay in Izola. I decided to book direct since I had the flexibility to walk into town on my drive from Rovinj, Croatia back to Ljubljana, so I walked in the front door only to be greeted by the sweetest person on Earth, Breda, who speaks perfect English and many other languages. If you book direct they have more flexibility to accommodate special requests. She easily made my decision to stay that night and an extra night very easy. You absolutely MUST see this town lit up for Christmas and Hotel Marina is perfectly located to take a stroll to the right and see the stunning mountains and in the evening a stroll to the left to see the center lit up like a Winter Wonderland (truly). The children were ice skating and Christmas music playing. With such a rushed agenda to see “the Balkans” in 3 weeks this was a perfect relaxing gorgeous surprise of a stop over on the way back. I wish I could stay longer. Thank you Hotel Marina. Highly recommend.

Barbara Piran Beach Hotel & Spa

Barbara Piran Beach Hotel & Spa is bathing in the greenest bay of the Slovenian cost. Located between the Adriatic Sea and the only lake in Slovenia where both fresh and salt water combine, it offers a unique starting point in all seasons of the year. Piran is only a few minutes’ walk by the sea. In summer guests can indulge in a spacious beach with deckchairs, sun umbrellas and cabanas, and in cooler months they warm up in Wellness Barbara.

Beautiful sea view

Very nice ambience with a sea view, where you can hear the waves of the sea at night and where you get a pleasant feeling of homeliness due to the employees. With courtesy and helpfulness, they strive at every step to make the guest feel good. We will definitely be back again!

Hotel Fiesa

We are located on the shore of bay Fiesa, the cleanest bay in the northern part of Adriatic. Our Hotel is suitable for families with small children. The coast is clean and well maintained. Next to the hotel is a lot of green grass where children can play and a dive center for those who are into discovering our local reef. If you are up for a walk, you can go and visit Piran. It takes about five minutes on foot, or you can rent one of our scooters or bikes.

Great location

Reviewed By Qaz567

We stayed one night at this hotel on the seafront, 15 minutes walk along a coastal path into the town of Piran. Pleasant rooms with little balconies to sit on. Good breakfast which can be eaten inside or on the terrace overlooking the sea. We ate at the restaurant in the evening which was abit soulless (maybe needed music playing). Food was good though with big portions. The only downside was the campsite and beach bar next door. There was a large group who were drinking and partying till the early hours which kept us awake. We told reception who didn’t appear to be bothered.

Our backyard and rooftop garden escape, connoisseur restaurant and cocktail bar and other charming amenities make us one of Piran’s most outstanding and one-of-a-kind accommodations.

Amazing view

Reviewed By Matej B

Interesting interior and very friendly staff. Hotel is on amazing location on the Tartini square. My wife and I spent the night in the presidential suite with unbeatable view on the square and on the sea from a gorgeous and very spacious terrace on the top of the roof. Interesting to see many Ikea items incorporated in the artistic theme of the hotel. Hotel was refurbished and restyled in 2018, but will need investment in windows soon. Overall a very pleasant experience!

So bad, that I'm writing a review while I'm still at the hotel

Reviewed By Nika C

Before we checked in, I called the hotel three times to check about parking, but no response. We checked in to the hotel yesterday and were greeted by two rude and arrogant staff members at the reception. Finding key information is like a scavenger hunt. The phone number of the reception remains a secret. Next, the building of the hotel Mirta has an awful smell, as the carpets were cleaned and, I assume, not dried properly. This morning's breakfast was acceptable enough, but undrinkable coffee in 2020 is unforgivable. Parking is free for guests, but not guaranteed (??). The only good thing about the resort is the beach, which seems to be public and not connected to the hotel anyway.

Excellent choice for travelers

Reviewed By GMDesert

Hotel Keltika in Izola is a sensible choice for a short stay in the seaside area of Slovenia. It is not in the crowded cities of Koper or Piran but you can easily drive to both. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood. It is about 15 minutes walk from the yact harbor, seaside front and downtown areas. The room are very simple with all the basic amenities. Super clean! Be aware that by American standards, the room and bath are very small, the shower stall is cruise ship size. Despite this, it is an excellent value. Breakfast is included with the stay with plenty of food and options.

Nice surprise

Reviewed By Mateja L

We spent 3 nights at this hotel over the weekend. At the first glimpse, I was a little bit worried, that I made a mistake by booking weekend getaway in this hotel. However, in the moment, that we stepped in the lobby, my worries disappeared. The lobby already gave a warm filling, maybe because of fireplace or big, cozy chairs. Staff is very friendly, welcoming and skilled. Our room was on the first floor, looked on the main street. Room was very big, bed cozy; there was also a big sofa in the room, so a third person would easily stay with us. Bathroom was also very big, and there was a tub, which I did not expect. Room was very quiet; we did not hear neighbors or any sounds from the main street. There was also large balcony. Breakfast was good, simple. There is also a restaurant as a part of hotel, and it is possible for the guest of hotel and random guest to come and have diner in this restaurant. We ate dinner at our first evening and it was tasty. If you plan your stay over the weekend, you have to consider the fact, that restaurant is closed on Sundays. Hotel is a little bit far from the Koper beach, maybe half hour walk, with car 5 minutes, so you bring your walking shoes if you plan to walk to the city center or to the beach. Overall, the stay was nice. There is still a room for improvement, maybe more closets for clothes in the little lobby, which is also a part of the room and probably muffles the sound from the hall.
