Handara Golf & Resort Bali

The Handara Golf & Resort Bali, ranked by GOLF Magazine among the "Top 50 Greatest Golf Courses in the World" attracts golfers from all corners of the world to travel to Bali in order to play golf at one of Asia's most iconic and "World-Class" golf courses. Handara Golf & Resort Bali is located in the central highlands of Bali and is nestled down inside the crater of a dormant volcano at an altitude of almost 1,200 meters (almost 4,000 feet) above sea level. The resort is surrounded by lush green mountains, crater lakes and an equatorial rain forest that creates dramatic backdrops for approach shots into the well maintained creeping bentgrass greens. Another unique characteristic of this world-renowned golf resort is the year round coolness of the fresh mountain air (14-24 C), which will make for a pleasantly comfortable round of golf at this 18-hole championship golf course designed by five time British Open Champion Peter Thomson along with his design associates Michael Wolveridge and Ronald Fream. We invite you to take a tour of our facility online and we look forward to welcoming you to Handara Golf & Resort Bali.

Beautiful and Peaceful place

Reviewed By GunBali

Stayed in this resort recently. The place is beautiful and full of energy. It is good to see the place is busy comparing to other place which are affected by Pandemic Covid-19. They also provide affordable short golf course guest can try. One of the trainer named Andre is very communicative and knowledgeable on golf. Thank you Andre for great lesson. This place is highly recommendable for those looking for beautiful and peaceful stay. Beside golf, one can enjoy their tennis court as well. Can't wait to be back Inputs for improvement : Linen having too much 'parfume' from washing process. It need to be softer smell. We got two pair slipper. One pair was all LEFT foot instead of Left and Right.

Villa Manuk

Off the beaten track, in the foothills that fringe the north coast of Bali, Villa Manuk is surrounded by beautiful countryside, tucked away in an idyllic valley of terraced rice fields. Backed by mountainous hills and forest, it is the ideal place for nature lovers who wish to discover the country life of Bali. Here life moves at a gentle pace. Paths meander through the rice fields, a tiny village, and around the valleys, following the contours of the hills. Nestled just outside the village at the top of the valley, looking out over (rice) fields, is Villa Manuk. The comfortably appointed bedrooms open onto large verandahs with views over the adjoining fields to the hills beyond. Comfortably furnished, the verandahs are perfectly secluded, ideal for relaxing with a book, sketching or writing. Just a short drive from Villa Manuk to the East, through the villages of Sawan and Bebetin, is the beautiful Sekumpul Waterfall, which makes a wonderful trek. And many more. Enjoy your stay.

Relaxing stay

Reviewed By Christina L

Villa Manuk is finally open for guests again. It was not my first stay here and it was pleasant and relaxing as always. Lovely staff, good food (you can order now from the auntie next door), beautiful view, refreshing spring water pool and great Balinese massages. Bali‘s tallest waterfall, Sekumpul, is located just nearby. The villa is also a good starting point for trekking tours or walks in the rice paddies.

Home from home

What a beautiful family and hotel. Ker and Gelgel made us feel at home as soon as we arrived by greeting us so warmly and giving us a welcome juice and offering to cook for us. We appreciated this so much as we had just had a long journey to Lovina. Their home cooked food was delicious, some of the very best we had tried during our Bali trip. We stayed at Puri Tugu Belanda for 3 nights but could have easily stayed longer. The room was very clean and comfortable. The pool and view was beautiful. We booked trips from the hotel and they were fantastic. We went to Sekumpul waterfall, the holy hot springs, nearby temple, Krishna shopping mall and central Lovina. Gelgel made our trips so enjoyable by telling us about the traditions and history of Lovina. He is such a warm, lovely, kind man. Ker also made us feel so welcome and offered us lots of information about the area and local life. Our conversations were so interesting and I learnt a lot from the family. We also went on a sunrise dolphin trip which was incredible! During our trip there was a holy celebration for yellow day and the family were so kind to invite us to their local temple to experience the celebration. They lent us their traditional Balinese clothes and made us feel so welcome and appreciated in their local temple. We loved the experience so much. We would love to return here one day, back to our Lovina home :-) Thank you Ker and Gelgel so much for such a beautiful stay and memories we will keep forever!

Exceeded expectations given the price point

Reviewed By c13229

I had read the reviews for this hotel and seen the pictures, but given the price point had managed my expectations that it might not be as nice as I was expecting. In fact, it exceeded expectations. This place is fantastic value for money. Location: access from the main road, though the rooms are at the back (behind the restaurant and overlooking the pool). Rooms: Modern rooms - very clean and designed well. The bedsheets were very soft and the light robes in the rooms were both great touches. Food: I ate at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was of a good standard. Pool area: The pool area, courtyard and general hotel are well maintained. You can see the staff regularly sweeping etc. They are all friendly. Areas for improvement: - My bathroom had a slightly strange odour (though it was very clean) - The safe is a little small, though not too much of an issue - Despite the number of staff (often found chatting with each other in reception), I found the service was not attentive in the restaurant on a couple of occasions. (I would wait a while and then go to ask them for a dessert menu, a while later no one would come to check on me so I’d go again to the front desk to ask for my bill etc) - I arranged the Lovina dolphin tour through them. They had advised a number of us staying in the hotel to be ready at 6am. Yet, at 5.30am we all had knocks on our door telling us the captain was here and ready. I came out of my room at 5.45am and the boat captain was pacing until we were all ready. Majority of the boats appeared to have left earlier and we were playing “catch up”. I’d recommend they work with the company to establish better instructions or agree an earlier time for everyone to be ready. - On a couple of occasions, I felt the staff could have been better trained. Ie I asked what I should wear to the dolphin tour, they seemed uncertain. I asked what sauce was included in the vegetarian penne, they said mushroom. I asked them to double check and then they came back and said it will come with a tomato sauce etc. - The restaurants only alcoholic options are 1. beer 2. Wine by the bottle. I’d recommend they include wines by the glass and / or cocktails. If I’d paid more for the hotel and taken into account the suggested improvements above, I probably would’ve rated it a 4/5. However, as mentioned at this price point is far exceeds the competition!

A gem in the jungle

This resort is simply paradise. That is if you like it quiet, private and love the ocean. If you want to party, I believe it is better to book elsewhere. The moment you set your foot on the premises, you feel the gorgeous energy, even if you do not believe in Feng Shui principles. There is a pool with something like a pool bar, but clearly this place is for restoration of your health and body, and to meditate. The wantan is lovely for yoga, there is a small beauty parlour at the back of one of the houses and a massage temple in the garden. There you have the privilege to get healing massages from two totally different healers. When you stay at #Felicianas, this is definitely a must. :) Ketut in the kitchen caters for nearly every need if you like healthy food, the vegetables and fruit come directly from their own plantation. The pool with a tree of life sign on the bottom has great water, with nearly no chemicals in it. The rooms are very individual in style and size. In the garden there are places to meditate and to relax in the shadows of the big palm trees. Make up a party with your friends, your yoga group or gather your family around you - this is the ideal place. From the airport about 3 hours driving through idyllic jungle roads, crossing the mountains to get to the other side. There are quite a few excursions you can book from there as well as a dolphin trip - the little boats are only a few footsteps away. I was there with a group of friends - just the thing to do. The sunrise is spectactular to watch, bathing in the ocean is ideal in the morning - what a start into the day.

I loved the place! This place has a spirit, a very calming and nice atmosphere. The owner is caring, helpful and attentive. The breakfast was a true Balinese experience, delicious!! They have a beautiful garden with lots of fruit trees and flowers. We had a simple but clean and nice room. You might not have a hot shower, however, the water is cool and good on a hot day.

Staff are wonderful - room is terrible

Reviewed By JHM08

We took a budget room around 200,000IDR a night I think. So we cannot speak for other rooms. The staff were very nice and helpful, parking was available and the place itself was nice. The room was however basic and not so clean, no hot water dirty mosquito net and cardboard walls. One wall fan all leads to an uncomfortable stay and no sleep. Wouldn't recommend.
