Well, almost... sturgeon, trout and other fish swim around merrily in the bubbling waters in this popular barbecue restaurant. Several dining rooms scattered around so it doesn't feel crowded. Lots of rocky steps to climb down, and rails are not always provided so you have to be steady on your feet. Cool piano music all through the evening. Wonderful spread of appetizers, followed by an entire, very tasty, sturgeon.

We took the soup Solyanka (Russian soup) which was very tasty, the fish soup also good, the Gyumri salad which is a meal on its own, and excellent. I would not recommend the âCaliforniaâ (beef with cheese) and would rather go for one of the local dishes. Excellent 0.5 litre béer for less than 1 euro and the whole dinner for us two for some â¬10. Nice atmosphere with the wooden banks. I would recommend this one.

We almost missed this restaurant, as it only says Florence Gyumri on its sign and looks so stylish we thought it was some kind of fancy boutique hotel. In fact it is a beautifully styled restaurant with friendly service, English spoken. We were surprised by the quality and taste of the food, good sizes too. Not too expensive. Very new restaurant, give it a try.
