Does the job

Compared with similar sized hotels in other parts of Germany, we were not so impressed, but if we needed to return to Schneeberg we would stay again. The room, a "standard", was a decent size; the bathroom, as another review said, definitely a retro-fit, but everything worked ok. Mattress felt soft and the sheets a bit cheap. Pillow too, although I have a problem with pillows in most German and Austrian hotels, they are useless. But the twin bed was a decent size and we slept well enough. Breakfast was where the hotel could and should improve. At least some fresh fruit and vegetables should be offered, as could coffee which was not made at 7.00 and placed on the table until 10.00. Customers might also expect some croissants or cakes, but none were made available. But the rolls were fresh. At this price level, you generally get a better breakfast in German hotels. It is a family run hotel, and the welcome is warm enough, but sometimes in the dining room, where the bar is too, we felt there was a little too much fuss about where we could or could not sit. As we learnt, the area is both conservative and religious,and while we were not exactly there to party ( I am over 60), and the hotel feels like it expects guests to be in bed by 22.00. It is dog friendly, with fields and trails right behind the hotel for the morning walk. So not a hotel to rave about, but if you need to be in Schneeberg, it will not let you down, either.

Lovely Hotel with Excellent Service
Reviewed By 86ShelbygirlWe had a lovely large room at the top of the hotel - warning that there is no lift, so if mobility is an issue, be aware. The hotel is very clean and the bedding is crisp and fresh. I found the mattress a bit firm but otherwise the room and bathroom facilities are excellent. The hotel is located right on the square, so an easy walk to everything, including the church. Staff is very good - one member speaks English reasonably well, and they are most accommodating. Breakfast is traditional - bread, meats, cheeses, egg, fruit, etc. and nicely presented. The restaurant was not open while we were there, and had to do a bit of looking to find somewhere to eat - we eventually found Goldne Sonne, just a short walk away, which was also excellent. Definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again on our next visit.

Die Bewertung findet in seinem Namen statt: "Da leider kein Schnee lag, wurden tagsüber die Angebote angepasst- wandern, Sport-und Spiel.Die abendlichen Beschäftigungsangebote waren leider sehr wenig. Wir mussten uns oft selbst beschäftigten. Wir hatten zu 4.ein kleines Zimmer und für alle nur 1 Steckdose. Die Gemeinschaftsduschen waren gewöhnungsbedürftig und oft kalt. Das Essen ging so- leider war das Brot jeden Tag hart. Schade, ich habe mir das anders vorgestellt. " Alles in allem ist er trotzdem glücklich wieder zu Hause angekommen und möchte gern wieder verreisen.

Reviewed By 379nadjaeEs ist jetzt schon das zweite mal das wir in dieser Pension übernachten. Das erste mal war es ganz okay im Mai 2019. Zwar schon so mit naja Effekt,aber wir konnten unsere Hunde mitnehmen. Deswegen dachten wir okay für 1 Nacht reicht das. Aber naja. Die Einrichtung ist von Anno 1970. Ich habe nix gegen alte Möbel, aber auch diese können sauber sein. Überall an den Wänden und Decken hingen Spinnen weben mit ihren Bewohnern. Das die Pension mitten im Wald ist,alles gut. Aber das waren die Spinner die kommen wenn man nicht richtig sauber macht oder gar nicht. Die sogenannte Terrasse lädt auch nicht zum verweilen ein. Es gleicht einen pflanzen Friedhof. Es ist hoch sommer und Pflanzen und Blumen sind gerade nicht teuer. Aber alles voller toter verwelkter pflanzen und Blumen. Da reißt es die eine plastik verglaste Blume auch nicht raus. Die Terrassen Möbel sind dreckig und schmuddelig. Von der Wand ganz zu schweigen. Alles voller Spinnen und ihren Geweben. Das geht gar nicht. Wenn ich weiß es kommen Gäste,auch wenn es nur für 1 Nacht ist,gehe ich noch mal mit einem Staubwedel lang. Die Deko in der Wohnung war auch völlig eingestsubt und verwebt. Die Betreiber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber mit Sauberkeit haben sie es nicht so. Ich bin nicht anspruchsvoll,mir reicht auch eine Besenkammer zum Schlafen,aber auch die kann sauber sein! Man könnte aus dieser Pension richtig was machen,die Umgebung ist einfach traumhaft keine Frage. Aber diese Pension Adler geht gar nicht! Für das nächste Mal gehen wir in die Pension Engel. Ein Dorf weiter.
