Best Mediterranean restaurants nearby. Discover the best Mediterranean food in Dresden. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for Mediterranean restaurants near you.. On the banks of the lovely Elbe River, the German city of Dresden is lush and green, filled with forests and gardens and parks. The city is rich with cultural and artistic history; the great operatic composer Wilhelm Wagner debuted a number of works here in the 1800s and, today, an independent light opera company keeps the classical art form modern and fresh. Culture vultures will love the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister and Grünes Gewölbe museums, and architecture buffs will salivate over the mélange of styles reflected in the cityscape.

Sfizio

Having read some of the good reviews, we made a point to taste their pizza. We couldn’t believe how good it was, so close to a perfect representation of a Neapolitan Vera Pizza ….and that without a wood-fire oven. Great dough texture, soft, easy to fold. That’s it. The way it “must” be. The owner told us to have invested in an oven capable to reach over 400 degrees so that pizza could bake in less than 90 seconds, as it should and must. Oh, so nice to talk about “pizza science” with someone with understanding and knowledge, even in Germany! It makes you think, what’s wrong with all those “pseudo-Italian” restaurants that build wood-brick-oven but have absolutely no clue on what to do with it. Kudos to Sfizio. Dresden! Do not take Sfizio for granted, appreciate what you have, it is NOT common. BTW, we met the pizza-baker, he was from Napoli. Of course! Make sense! How else would he know the Truth!

A friend introduced us to this restaurant very close to the Steigenberger Hotel where we were staying for a week.We ate there several times after that and loved the pineapple and ham pizza (only one large size), Lasagne, Rigatoni Gorganzola, Mango Salad, Caesar Salad, Tomato Soup, and Chicken Salad. The service was great and the atmosphere was lively. Many young people were enjoying the food inside and outside on their patio.Ciao Cheri,Thank you very much for giving us a good rating. We were pleased to have you with us. And we're glad you enjoyed your meal. As you may have noticed, all our dishes are freshly prepared “á la mamma“ in our open kitchen. So our guests see first hand what passionate Italian cooking is like. Cordiali saluti! The L'Osteria Team

We booked this restaurant on a Friday evening and we enjoyed its nice and cosy atmopshere. The menu also in English is written on blackboards and has a Mediterranean influence: we had pot au feu and winter salad and then fish. The main problem - apart from the starter portions being a bit too small - is that service can improve: we had to wait one hour for main courses and then they arrived without the changes that we requested.Good that they offered the beer as a compensation when we paid the reasonable bill.

We dined over the Christmas period at Kastenmeiers Seafood Restaurant in Dresden, located in a beautiful refurbished Rococo building near the heart of the old city. The interior of the restaurant has exposed brick walls embellished with highly colorful and interesting artwork. The visual experience of the restaurant is an event unto itself. But it is the food, wine and service that warrant the highest accolades. We arrived early and sat at the holding bar, ordering a bottle of wine. The bartender was highly knowledgeable and took the time to elaborate a number of different wine options - all excellent - for the grape type and locales in which we were interested. The wine was reasonably priced, even at the high end of the scale. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, at a table with an expansive view of the large restaurant. The menu provides a broad array of choices, obviously focused on fish (which is why we booked there). We were served by Enrico, who provided not just excellent service, but interesting conversation and detailed descriptions of any food choices we asked about. Enrico was consistently attentive without being overly intrusive or overly familiar. We would like to commend him in the highest terms.Out meal of ceviche, oysters, turbot and various desserts was without exception excellent. After days of venison, beef, wurst, and assorted other eastern German meats, a lighter meal of seafood was a welcome change. If you are traveling in the Dresden/Berlin/Leipzig triangle, make a point of visiting Kastenmeiers. You won't be disappointed.

Fabulous restaurant! It’s located outside the old town, but there’s a tram stop a 5-minute walk away. The food was superb. The iced lemon yoghurt soup was amazing. So was the amuse bouche, which was a wonderful avocado-infused sour cream concoction served over tomato bread. I loved my pork and octopus (which included a delicious pumpernickel paté topped with a sun-dried tomato glaze). The octopus, by the way, was the best I’ve ever had. My wife’s guinea fowl was perfectly cooked. The sour cream rhubarb ice cream was heavenly. This was one of the best two or three meal we had during our month-long stay in Germany (and one of the others has a Michelin star). The chef is delightfully creative—we think he’s going to be a star himself. We ate outside, on a warm summer evening, which was very pleasant. The wait staff was informative, and steered us to excellent but reasonably priced wines, which paired well with our mains. I couldn’t recommend Stresa more highly—it was a real high point of our trip.
