We left the forbidden city through the back exit and decided to walk around a lake we saw on the map.
Since it was lunch time and we were very hungry, we decided to stop at the first decent place we would find.
This place is a mix of restaurant during the day and a bar in the evening and apparently they even have live music based on the instruments we saw on a small stage.
It serves not only Chinese food but also Thai. You will also find German wheat beer for sale.
We decided to order Chinese this time and everything we got was just delicious, freshly made and really tasty.
The service was efficient and attentive.
The only thing we did not like is that the waiter kept clearing his throat all the time, but apparently this is cultural since we've heard it everywhere here in China.

和女朋友来的，朋友也特别推荐这家店，进去后感觉环境很温馨，尤其是餐厅的墙上可以当涂鸦版，服务员态度也很好，餐点可口诱人，点一杯白雪公主坐下来聊天很有气氛。

地方稍微有点偏，在一个小胡同里，不过味道和服务和城区里的没差别，环境也很舒适，点了一个东坡肘子，个头不大，但是肉很多，辣汁全被肘子吸收了，特别入味，价格也算得上合理。

The Thai pepper is a decent restaurant in a dull airport. The green curry is very tasty and the food is quick and hot. Red curry is so so and the satay is good but the accompanying sauce average. Service is alright.

Taishuxi is not as famous as Quanjude Restaurant, but the food is very pulular among local Beijing people and those who living in Beijing. It is the best place to try local Beijing food, the price is reasonable. The restaurant is nearby to Dongyuemiao Temple.
