Reviewed By Chris NThe hotel is popular with photographic tours as its location is superb for views over the Tuscany rolling hills . There are a variety of rooms some have sunny patios , best at the back of the hotel . Our room was decorated in a period style twin beds , lovely soft linen & towels , whirlpool bath with shower , bidet too . A/c easy to use . Really clean. Safe & plenty of storage space . No tea making , although some rooms have a kitchenette, but no kettle. Good sized room . Yes maybe style is a bit dated but it is in keeping & I don't like modern concrete blocks of hotels . The heated indoor pool with water jets , free to guests is a real bonus in early May when the outdoor pool was too cold . The public areas are nice, there is a bar . The breakfast room is not lit by daylight and the continental breakfast is adequate , but no fresh orange juice , no fresh hot eggs , but has a toaster for the English . Lots of cakes & types of croissants but not freshly baked . Excellent coffee machine . The walled village of San Quirico d'Orcia is a 7 min stroll . Lots of restaurants & old narrow streets to explore with a central main street & square by the church . Reception staff will book a table .

We are really grateful to Lorenzo and his family for the wonderful hospitality. Beautiful hotel, pool, gardens, and restaurant! San Quirico is a perfect village to stay in Val d'Orcia, as it is closer to Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and Bagno Vignoni. We really enjoyed our stay, and can't wait to be back!

Never had such a bad Hotel experience
Reviewed By stampsonpassportThe ladies that work in this hotel are rude and have no idea how people should behave in the Hospitality industry. The men were better and because of them I gave the one star. There is a lady in the reception, who refused to give us a table for dinner, even though many tables were available, and we were staying in the Hotel. Later, an older man, he had no trouble reserving a Table for us. There's a chubby looking waitress, who was also extremely rude. and in all these cases the behaviour was downright racist. The rooms were small and no room service were available. A hotel, we want to forget.

Very good quality for the price, strongly recommend. San Quirico d’Orcia is in the middle of the valley which is in my opinion the best country side you can see in Tuscany

Nice, but far from perfect
Reviewed By iPutMyTowelOutEarlyCommunication with their staff ahead of arrival was fine, but I had to ask several questions twice. Free parking is close enough, but a few flights of stairs and a stretch of cobblestones need to be conquered to get to the property from the closest parking. Check in wasn't great. I was asked for an arrival time through WhatsApp (actually a good idea, very convenient) and I provided it, but when I arrived punctually nobody was there. Nobody answered the bell. After a few minutes, a page arrived, but spoke no English. After 20 minutes a reception staff arrived and showed me to my room. I understand that it's not always possible to staff all properties all over town, especially outside of high season, but when I provide a time and arrive punctually, someone should have been waiting for me. WiFi didn't work, apparently a problem with the telecoms company. The room itself was nice and well appointed. No AC, and the provided fan was unfortunately quite noisy, should be upgraded. Good breakfast, their Indian staff is very friendly and helpful. 12-hour laundry service was great, if not exactly great value. Arianna could have been a little friendlier at checkout, she seemed in a hurry. Giardino Segreto was one of the most expensive places I staid at during my Tuscany tour, and the quality wasn't quite there. For €80-90 per night, it would be good value.

Reviewed By Mike MExcellent comfortable and beautiful accommodation. Well situated and just outside main center so very quiet and peaceful. The only issue was that we were lead to believe that we had access to the main hotel pool and facilities but this was unfortunately not the case. We particularly wanted access to a pool during our stay and the information from the the hotel was in our opinion misleading. However this did not stop us from enjoying our stay.

Reviewed By simon bGreat hosts, great location - calm, picturesque place outside of town, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees but still in walking distance from old town, restaurants and shops. Top quality wines and olive oil from their production. Different wines (all excellent) were presented during wine tasting event. We stayed in an apartment for 2 persons. It was big enough. Very clean, with conformable bed and well equipped kitchen. Very good free wi-fi. There is also outdoor space were you can enjoy your meal. We also had space to securely store our bikes overnight. Highly recommended!

Wonderful spot over the valley
Reviewed By Virginia SWe stayed at Il Miraggio 4 nights and we had a lovely time. The property is really beautiful, with great panoramic views of the valley. The hotel is elegant and refined and we loved the big old fashioned bathtub in the middle of the room. The pool area is wonderful and so are all the cute spots where one can seat and admire the view. We also loved the SPA where we had a wonderful massage. The staff is extremely kind. We entrained in lovely conversations with Felice, the owner who is really charming and attentive to his guests. We definitely recommend this place for a lovely vacation in Tuscany. Val d’Orcia is a true corner of paradise. Virginia, Marisa,Sofia and Emma

A Tuscan delight !
Reviewed By 260richardbIl Rigo is a delightful family run Tuscan Agriturismo. Although it’s setting is very rural it is not too remote,we found it convenient for accessing the local area, Pienza, Siena, Asciano etc and easy to find. The wildlife and flora and fauna abound. We spent a week walking in the local area, the views are tremendous as is the variety of walks available. We stayed in the main house, Casabianca, the rooms are large and airy and very comfortable with great views. The food was typically Tuscan, a great variety of 4 courses were offered every evening and they were superb. All the staff were so helpful I didn’t get all their names so it would not be fair to single any of them out but they were all so helpful and there to please. Thank you Il Rigo we had a great holiday .
