We would have liked to have a dinner in this place. We got a menu in Italian, and when I asked an English one, they did, if itâs impossible. When I asked I got pizza, the woman became nervous and she took an other menu, but she was not kind or friendly. The meal was average, we were much better restaurant in Tuscany

The pizza was terrible with no taste at all!! This was nothing compared to the lady that served it!! When we tried to pay not only she didnât accept credit cards (it was nowhere written of course), we saw the credit card machine and she laughed at as and make an ironic comment in Italian (bad thought since two of us speak Italian). Eat somewhere else or even in another village but not there!!

This lovely restaurant in the centre of Pienza, Italy, is a family run business and like all good family businesses Francesca, her mother, her sister and the rest of the people who work here seriously care about what they do with food and the customers they serve it to. It's a delight to eat and drink here at any time of the day from 7:30 in the morning through to late in the evening. The food is good wholesome Italian tastes that set the taste buds tingling with pizzas and pasta that are really quite remarkable. Relax outside with a glass of wine or beer in the shade of the Italian summer heat and you're in heaven. No rush, no cares, just Italy.Italy is a place where people love to pass time in light hearted chatter, a place where people find one another through talking. Walk into 'La Mensa Del Conte' and you walk into the real Italy where, even having limited knowledge of Italian is no barrier to great communication. It's a fun place, full of people wearing big smiles who make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive to the very last goodbye.Ciao, Francesca and La Mensa Del Conte. The walk from Querico D' Orcia, along the Via Francigena, was amazing! We arrived in Castiglione D' Orcia a little after sunset. Though there were no hotel rooms available in town, a staff person at the Le Rocche bar helped arrange a room for us, in a beautiful house with an amazing view of the castle. Thank you! We returned for dinner after checking into our room. It was wonderful. Friendly staff, efficient service and tremendous food. One of the best meals of our trip.

This is the pizza you write home about. Perfect in every way. Makes even the best Napoli style pizza back home in Toronto disappointing. We had the margherita and the cappriciosa (with some lovely anchovies). Amazing. The place has no table service and seems to be a combination grocery and pizzeria. You order at the check out counter on the way in and give them your name. When the pizzas are ready they call your name...as pronounced in the local dialect, so listen carefully!!! Also just grab drinks from the cooler on the left...when you're done, pay at the check out counter. It was slightly confusing but the effort was completely worth it.

Had called for a reservation, since it was a Sunday night. Everyone from the neighborhood comes to this place.We had a friendly waitress seat us at a perfect corner table outside and help us order. Started with a Comigliano Rosso Di Montalcino 2014 and water with gas. I ordered Pici, my new fav pasta, with mushrooms and beef and a tomato mista salate. The guys had pizza with a salad. The food really is so fresh and delicious. Then, we were forgotten. Waited around for the check, only to see that they charged us for 3 pizzas. Tried to explain, sat and waited for 1/2 hour. Finally my husband went to the desk and tried to explain, he decided to just pay the bill and not leave a tip. Came out the same way. But, we would have love to see our friendly waitress again. It was not to be. Great food, loved the ambiance and being outside was perfect...just not good collecting the bill skills.

This place is a nice place to stop and have something to eat on your way to the historic center of San Quirico d'Orcia. There is a public parking place in front. You can view it on Google Street although this video looks a few years old.

This is a typical local restaurant. The entire cities eats here at the end of the day. A family place, everyone know each other. A simple and tasteful food at the end of the day. San Quiricio lacks on dinner option but this place was a good surprise.

This is where the locals eat, no nonsense pizza & pasta of all sorts . One can even get fish & chips . beside petrol station. Try liver terrine and strips of tender beef called tagliata with pasta or chips . The pizza in the area is the best without any doubt! All of the ingredients are stop quality as well as those for spaghetti. Aldo very good location and service. Strongly recommended.
