Find out what Caribbean restaurants to try in Spanish Town. Spanish Town is the capital and the largest town in the parish of St. Catherine in the historic county of Middlesex, Jamaica. It was the Spanish and British capital of Jamaica from 1534 until 1872. The town is home to numerous memorials, the national archives, and one of the oldest Anglican churches outside England (the others are in Virginia, Maryland and Bermuda).

A clean, airy, atmosphere where the food is both tasty and attractively displayed. The variety was great including fruits, yogurt, eggs, bacon, pancakes, pastry along with Jamaican style cuisine. A delightful time spent with family.

Terra Nova Hotel Restaurant

This is one of the old, established restaurants in Kingston but definitely showing its age. Food was mediocre considering it is considered a 5-star level restaurant and one of the more famous in Kingston. Recipes probably haven't changed in decades. Go to some of the newer establishments in Kingston. This restaurant caters mostly to tourists and locals with birthdays. And the service was really strange -- they took our food orders and then later another waiter came to take our cocktail orders.Dear will505, Thank you for choosing The Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel, and especially for taking the time to share with us your feedback. We are grateful for your mixed review highlighting aspects of your recent experience with us and are disheartened to understand from your review that we did not meet all your expectations. Waves Beach Restaurant & Bar

Went here one evening with a colleague and couldn't have been happier. We both got the fried lobster in curry sauce, split an order of shrimp with garlic, and a side of Festival and Bammy. The bar was well stocked with top shelf liquor and local beers. It was dark at night so we couldn't enjoy the beach but it looked good and seems like the place would be a great party scene too. Definitely worth a visit. Just keep in mind this is bar is on the beach so dress accordingly.

This outdoor veranda restaurant is fairly new in the Portmore area. It is having some growing pains getting meals out in a timely fashion. We were a party of four and actually waited 1 3/4 hours for lunch. There was no crowd; in fact, there was only one other party of two. That is a new record for us in Jamaica. The fish and the sides were delicious, but the price and the wait took some of the pleasure away. There is a bar onsite that perhaps they hope you will utilize while you wait forever. The site is right on the bay which meant there was a continuous breeze. There is plenty of safe parking.

This restaurant is noted for great local food and is reasonable priced. We had the: Pirate Catch(fried fish, grilled lobster and spicy shrimp), Whole grilled lobster, fish soup, coconut water and it cost less than $40US. The lobster and fish were fresh from the sea. This was the best local meal I had while visiting Kingston.

We had a good selection of seafood (fish soup, lobster, fish shrimp) with side orders at the Hellshire Beach location. Prendy's is a rustic, no frills place serving very tasty Jamaican seafood. Unfortunately, the service was not well timed and only the breadfruit was properly hot when served. Laid-back is OK, but in this case the attitude of the service crew did not impress - however, the manager did her very best.
