Reviewed By mariaandreaobI’m a hotelier by profession and by passion and during all the traveling I’ve done for so many years, for sure the best thing that Andaluza has is the front desk staff, specially Ma Fernanda, who was so helpful and kind to coordinate every detail for our party of 9. She was on point suggesting spa services (which made us relax to the point that some of our family members repeated the services), a Chimborazo tour with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide, birthday celebration, horse rides even during the night which we enjoyed enormously and a bomb fire during our last evening with s’mores. They surely need training in the dining room, specially on agility and remembering/mixing up additionals we ordered. Having in mind foreigners guests usually are not used to waiting that long, it’s a very important issue to have improved. However, the spotless housekeeping and front office friendliness, surely balances out the experience. Thank you Andaluza and Ma Fernanda for a very good vacation!

Friendly, family atmosphere
Reviewed By HelenDelMThis was our first visit to Ecuador and Riobamba. We stayed at the hotel for about 14 nights . The service, care and attention we got Santiago (the proprietor) was exceptional. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him from arranging to get medical advice (when I wasn't feeling well) to helping us organise trips. This hotel is not a posh modern five star "city" type hotel but a beautiful building with loads of character. We had a room towards the back (one of the ones that do not have exterior windows) but this was not an issue for us. The hotel was in its previous life a spanish style home with an open court yard in the middle. The court yard is now covered with roof that still allows natural light through. So when you step out of your room onto the internal wrap around verandah you see natural light. Anyway we were there on holiday so we were mainly out and about. Which comes to location - perfect. Close to where ever you want to go around Riobamba and if not it didn't matter because catching taxis to go around Riobamba would only cost a maximum $US1.50. So all in all our stay was excellent and would highly recommend this establishment to anyone and hope one day to return.

My wife has an allergy to wool. She mentioned it to Michelle and the bedding was changed before we got back to the room.

Reviewed By kkaulbachI had a great experience at the Mansion Santa Isabella. I got to the hotel at 11:30 in the morning and wanted to see if I could get a tour to Chimborazzo that afternoon. While no tour was understandably then available, the hotel made some quick calls and got a driver to take me to Chimborazzo for a hike to the Laguna and Refugio aet 5100 meters. That worked out perfectly for me. They also helped me with the bus schedule for my bus the following day to Cuenca. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated and appointed and offered a great full breakfast. The hotel is an old mansion and is worth staying at solely for the atmosphere, though the service matches as I have said. The room was really charming and atmospheric and quite quiet, if slightly on the smaller side. It is well located near restaurants and other activities in Riobamba (all within walking distance). The bathroom was impeccably clean and modern. As I mentioned, the service at the hotel was excellent. It was a true 4* experience and a very good value. If you are going to Riobamba or Chimborazzo, I definitely recommend the Santa Isabella.

Quiet and Comfortable Stay
Reviewed By 985debdWe stayed 3 nights as part of a hiking trip that included Chimborazo. When we arrived we were served coffee and tea up on the rooftop terrace. After a long drive from Cuenca it was a great way to relax and enjoy the views. Our rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The showers are huge with strong water pressure and hot water. The area is quiet with no barking dogs or car alarms. A full breakfast was included in our rate which was hearty and delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had access to the kitchen and other guests staying there at the same time fixed full meals in the kitchen.

Reviewed By ZeituniPro: this hotel is really beautiful, rooms are good and the breakfast plentiful. Contra: it is situated very far from the city center, so there is no possibility of going somewhere to dine. What they are preparing in the bar is meagre, and the service there so-so.

Reviewed By Fred AThis is a budget hotel. The price was good and the staff friendly. It is on a main street so there is a lot of traffic noise. The room was large but the bathroom small. The soap / shampoo and towels were dropped off shortly after we checked in. The soaps were very small.

Clean room...friendly staff...somewhat away from centre
Reviewed By Derry MIn April of this year-2018-I spent one night at this hostal.Check-in was handled speedily and the room I was given was clean and comfortable.Unfortunately this hostal in inconveniently located away from the centre and serves no breakfast.Nevertheless the staff were friendly and sleep quality was good.Overall it represented good value for money-I paid 18 dollars for the night.How could this place be improved?Perhaps management might consider offering breakfast...I am happy to give this place 7 out of 10.

The worst 4 stars Hotel ever found!
Reviewed By Wilson Guillerm... SWe decided to make a trip from Guayaquil to Riobamba. We heard about this Hotel from references of near friends. The front desk wasn't friendly and talkative at all. The facilities of the entire Hotel were poor, we expected a spa or some place to relax but the unique option was the bathroom that wasn't very light well at all. The breakfast didn't cover many options and for the money we paid it was very awful, and smell like food in all the places of the lobby. The waitress and help desk didn't help us either as long we decided to ask them for an advice or help. The Hotel need to exchange the furniture of the living room, bathroom, and pillows. In conclusion for the next time we never go back, they need to improve a lot, but what we can expect from a town that is call city such us Riobamba.
