Reviewed By Paulus TLet me start by saying that this place is a great choice if you are a bed seeking nature lover. It is not a perfect place but you can learn to live with its ups and downs. I start with things I did not like. The rooms are well equipped with two beds and place too cook a meal and shower. From room information given to us we were led to believe that it is suitable for 4 adults. Let me tell you it is NOT. It has just two beds and tiny sofa. However for 2 adults it is very comfortable. You have to clean yourself and given the rather higher price it is quite strange to say the least. And the walls are rather thin. (We did not have a problem with that luckily though). On the other hand I loved free parking space, shop, proximity to nature and great views, quite "modern" equipment... I am coming back, but this time in a smaller group with more rooms :-)

The tourist station consists of two houses, a main house with accommodation and a building with reception, shower and sauna. The main building has 68 regular beds creditors put at 8 pcs. 4 (+2) -bäddsrum, 4 pcs 4-bedded rooms and 2 pcs double room. All rooms have equipped kitchen with fridge. The house has a large living room with comfortable sofas where you can relax in front of our fireplace.

När den lilla liften från Katterjokk Turiststation är stängd (vilket den oftast är i mars enligt lokalbefolkningen) så är det i princip omöjligt att ta sig till Riksgränsen (som bara har öppet to-sö i mars) och Björkliden (öppet alla dagar i veckan i mars, dock 3 mil från Katterjokk). Buss från Katterjokk till Riksgränsen eller Björkliden finns bara torsdag till söndag, det går en tur på morgonen och en tur på kvällen. Måndag till onsdag går det inga bussar alls men det finns ett (1) tåg till Björkliden vid 11.35 och ett tillbaka vid 16, dvs, en det blir en riktigt kort skiddag... Transferbussen som ingår i liftkorten stannar inte i Katterjokk utan det är ordinarie tåg och buss som gäller (räkna med en kostnad ungefär 50% av liftkortskostnaden för buss och tåg). Förslag till Katterjokk: Samarbeta med anläggningarna i Riksgränsen och Björkliden, eller var extremt tydliga på er hemsida att detta inte är ett boende för personer som inte har bil med sig och som vill åka alpint i början på säsongen (feb och mars). ELLER: säkerställ egen transfer, det vore ju det bästa kanske? När jag föreslår till personalen i Riksgränsen att de ska låta transferbussen stanna i Katterjokk så säger de "prata med personalen i Katterjokk" (underförstått, vi har försökt). Därefter var personalen i Riksgränsen tillmötesgående och sa att eftersom vi var så många skidåkare i Katterjokk så skulle se om de kunde göra ett undantag och låta bussen stanna medan vi var där. Och, personalen i Katterjokk kan inte dissa den stora fina ICA butiken vid Riksgränsen och säga att Coop butiken i Katterjokk har bättre sortiment. Det har de tyvärr inte alls... Allt detta sammantaget framstår som en trist lokal konflikt mellan Katterjokk och de stora kringliggande anläggningarna som vi som kommer på besökinte vill ta del av... Sammanfattningsvis, vill du åka skidor i detta område i början på säsongen (feb och mars) bo i Riksgränsen eller Björkliden så tar du dig till backen. Alt säkerställ att du har egen bil eller hyrbil (närmaste biluthyrare finns i Kiruna...).

Fuktiga ofräscha rum
Reviewed By hsteforsLäget är bra och sängarna relativt bra. Även skönt med eget badrum, dock vågade vi inte duscha för grova vattenskador i taket. Hela rummet luktade fukt och våra handdukar har inte torkat under hela vår vistelse. Det rann bokstavligen vatten på insidan av fönstret. Ett av våra sällskap fick ett helt okej rum men det blir hotell för oss nästa gång.

Either bad service in general or only to persons of color
Reviewed By 565theosI stayed at the hotel last week (late May 2022) and the receptionists were actually quite nice and friendly. However the service at the lobby bar was concerning. After waiting over 20 min for my food, I walked over to the bar where I had to wait for another 10 min for the staffs to acknowledge my presence (while busily socializing with each other). I politely informed them about my food situation, and they said the food should be out in any min. I waited at the counter for another 10 min, then I saw the staff grabbing the food (which was already out sitting there for the past 15 min at least), and gave it to me. The food was just cold (hamburger and fries), so I asked them why that was the case. The staff immediately looked embarrassed and said it was a "mistake", then awkwardly offered to microwave (like seriously?) the burger and fries. I had to convince them to make me a new plate. Did they think I would not notice how cold the food was and eat anyway? And after making me wait, ignoring me the entire time, deliberately giving me cold food, the best they could offer was reheating the food...? The preferential treatment was very obvious, as other customers were getting their food and service just fine. I was left wondering if the service is either bad service in general or only to persons of color. Disappointment.
