Rhodes Town All-inclusives | Places to Stay in Rhodes Town

The largest of the twelve Dodecanese islands on the Aegean's eastern edge, Rhodes is also its most popular. The well-preserved medieval city of Rhodes sits at the north of the island of the same name. High rise hotels line the northern and eastern coastlines. Small villages and resorts dot the island's other shores. Whether your interests are beaches, bars or ancient sites, Rhodes offers an abundance of all three. Authentic Greece can be found in the hilly interior of the 50-mile long island.

Two weeks ago we came back from the holiday spending 10 wonderful days in Mitsis Grand hotel. The hotel and especially the en-suite are a little bit dated, the indoor swimming pool unfortunately closed and both outdoor pools very cold. Bearing in mind last 2 Covid 19 years, extremely difficult for the tourist industry, the hotel is trying to do the best to compensate all this by an exceptional cleanness, excellent customer service and great entertainment and food. NEFELI at the concierge desk was our angel sorting out ALL our problems and answering questions as soon as we had one. ELENA in the Greek restaurant was so quick serving us, she was almost flying! And all the time with a smile on her face. In fact it’s very difficult to mention everyone helping at the hotel as everybody was very kind and always ready to help. The food was very tasty especially in the Greek and Italian restaurants. The room was spacious with a nice size balcony overlooking the garden. As the sea side was very windy we’ve done the right choice booking the garden facing one. And finely: During our stay my husband celebrated his birthday. We didn’t mention this while checking in so it was a very pleasant surprise for him to receive that day an email and card with birthday wishes from the hotel and a birthday cake (very tasty!) with a bottle of Prosecco in our room! Overall our stay was extremely pleasant and we would strongly recommend this hotel.

An honest review from a UK couple - the best holiday

Reviewed By not_a_karen28

I actually can’t believe how spoilt some people are reading these ridiculous negative reviews!!! 1) The staff are SO lovely and really go out of their way to give amazing service. 2) The food here has been amazing, I’m a veggie and there’s so much choice for me here. I actually find it easier to eat here than a restaurant so I can choose what I want. My partner loves meat and always has a full plate every night. The breakfast is delicious you can have hot cooked breakfast or pancakes or fruit and yoghurt. The restaurant by the pool you can get lunch and snacks all day, like gyros wraps and chips, toasties, salads, ice cream and take this to your sunbeds by the pool 3) People make me laugh when they complain about all inclusive drinks. Obviously they aren’t going to be amazing quality but you can have just spirit and mixer e.g vodka lemonade or vodka and juice and it’s actually really nice. The beer is decent. You can have wine or prosecco too. A couple of the cocktails on there were really nice too. The bar staff are so friendly and let you order more than 1 at a time which is handy. 4) Pools are good size and they do an aqua aerobics class in the mornings which is actually quite funny 5) we had a sea view room and the view was stunning! Loved waking up to it every morning and the sunsets are so pretty, definitely recommend upgrading to it 6) downstairs from reception they have a games room, think we paid 5 euros for a game of pool they also have arcade games, board games etc 7) didn’t go much on the hotel entertainment but that’s more for families anyway, and we liked to spend our evenings out for a drink (recommend Amalfi beach bar which is 5 mins walk away) 8) location is amazing - you literally have a beach right at your doorstep it’s a couple minutes walk away that has a lovely beach bar and a taxi can take you into Rhodes town for 8 euros 10 mins away

Fantastic Staff......That's it.

Very sad to write this because the staff are some of the best, friendliest, kind, happy and lovely people we have ever encountered in a hotel. The housekeeping workers, the chef's, restaurant staff, reception team and bar staff were all incredible (Christina and Barbie always had a smile and Christina remembered our names and drinks from the first hour of us being there and bought us a little gift ❤️).....but this was all overshadowed by avoidable accidents caused by a run down hotel. We were here for 2 weeks, our 4th destination from our 2019 booking due to covid and we were excited and had high hopes due to other stays at other Atlantica hotels. We arrived and were greeted warmly and shown to our rooms. We had a family room with a king size bed ?? and bunk beds (not ideal for a 6 and 2 year old but we made do) and we had a sea 'view' I use quotations as if you were sat down all you can see was concrete so only good thing was it was the quiet side of the hotel. The bathroom was dark and dingy but spotless so that wasn't too much of an issue either. The shower has a curtain so hard to keep it dry and we used our towels to stop a flood. Entertainment was ok at night and through the day ridiculous.....about 30+ grown men playing water polo, whacking the ball at each other, missing and hitting guests, knocking over drinks etc and full fights in the pool....GROW UP....and to the entertainment team....manage this, not just better.....at ALL!!! Food was ok......their themed nights were non existent apart from one Mexican and one Chinese then the rest were just variations of pork and Mediterranean veg in oil. The breakfasts was also ok, pancakes and French toast (waffles were fab but only did this once in 2 weeks) omelettes and fried/scrambled eggs, beautiful yogurt and honey etc. The snack bar was great, gyros (chicken thighs not pork as stated), toasties, hot dogs and fries plus a fridge of gorgeous Greek salads, yogurt and seeds, jelly and sometimes fruit/mixed salads. The vanilla ice cream was ok, the chocolate not so much. Drinks we found quite bad......very watered down, even the pepsi sometimes but we got special frappes which were amazing......thank you Christina and Barbie) The white wine however is the best I've had at an AI hotel (bar the Atlantica Imperial). The outside pool restaurant also had a good salad bar, good use of leftovers, good ice cream and a pizza station although too hard and thick for our liking. The grounds of the hotel, pool, gardens, park corridors etc are all very clean. The staff make sure of this but in my opinion this hotel opened when it shouldn't have. The park tarmac tiles are curled and dangerous.....saw countless kids trip on these including my own. The pool is dangerous, countless small chips which is fine and expected but 3 big chips out of the side and one so sharp it took a chunk out of my daughter's knee....reported to reception and looked into straight away....filed down I believe. The bathroom in my mother's room was ridiculous.....it flooded every time the shower was used, no matter how low the water pressure was, no matter how much you tried to mop it up it just wasn't able to be managed and the floor was like an ice rink. We reported this 3 times before anything was done. The drain was also broken and dangerous and the floor very slippery from even a little steam.....and my 2 year old daughter was unfortunately the victim of this. We are currently waiting to see if her nose/eye socket is broken as she injured herself so badly. These accidents could have been avoided. I spoke to a few guests who are yearly returners (sometimes multiple times a year) and they all said the hotel is run down, the food has gone from a 10 to a 4..... everything is pork or chicken thighs in different variations, it should have been renovated while closed and it's no longer somewhere they'd recommend. The staff are the only good thing about this hotel. Sad to say it but it's true.

Meal timings need reviewed

Reviewed By 367sheldonm

Me and my friend came for a weeks holiday at the beginning of June. Rooms are fine, pretty simple but fine. One issue for us is there was no iron. The most annoying thing was the breakfast timing as it states on their website 6;30am to 10:30am however when we went down at 9:50 there was only bread to eat (no cereal, croissants) leading us to eat out every morning . The lunch to dinner timings also need reviewing in my opinion, lunch being 12:30 to 2;30 then dinner being 7 to 9:30. Therefore 4.5 hours of no food

Book elsewhere

We booked through love holidays, was advertised with a restaurant and pool and all regular amenities, we have arrived and the pool is empty. The restaurant isn’t open after breakfast (10am) and because you have to go through the bar / restaurant area to the pool , with it being closed - so is the whole poolside area. It should state that the restaurant and pool isn’t open as it’s false advertising. It’s only opened for breakfast and then locks the doors meaning you have no access to any seating area other than your one seat size balcony (unless you get a bigger room) If I was aware there wasn’t an evening restaurant / seating & a pool we wouldn’t have booked to stay here. It makes it worse that we can’t even sit outside together unless we go to a cafe. Reception staff don’t give a crap either. Would book in a hostel for the same service

Amazing Staff

I can't express enough how wonderful the staff at this hotel are. On our first day my sister broke her leg and Eleni at reception was so helpful in arranging transportation to the hospital for us. She and Margarita were both so helpful and showed great concern for my sister. The bell boys, Nikkos and Savvas were amazing. They were always ready to assist with pushing the wheelchair or providing any other service we needed. The staff really made a potentially miserable vacation into a very enjoyable one. The hotel was lovely and the food was excellent.
