Its unrivalled location and slightly laid-back atmosphere, refreshing to the senses and inspired by the sea, turns Fred’s into the best spot to enjoy the coolness of the tropical paradise that surrounds this location. At Fred’s, the culinary experience is

Nice ambiance. Excellent greeting and service from the moment we walked in the door. We had lobster bisque and oysters Rockefeller, both were amazing. For entrees my wife had the scallop risotto and I had the coconut shrimp. Excellent. Have to comment on having even great restrooms which at some places can ruin the overall experience. Our Westin Lagunamar concierge recommended Fred’s when we asked about best seafood in Cancun. She definitely steered us the right way. Manager stopped by a couple times to check. Our waiter Xavier was super great.Hello tomass1112Thanks a lot for your time to share us your experience. We're happy to know that the attention and food was to your liking, for us it will be a pleasure to see you again.Warm regards.

Very nice gourmet Italian in a clean, modern setting. The atmosphere was wonderful in this locally owned classy restaurant. It's on, Bonampak, the main road, right near the exit getting off the Hotel Zone, across from Superama Walmart Grocery and Starbucks. You can go into the downtown but not venture too far in. American tourists will love this. They have wait staff that speaks excellent English. Prices are great and the food was amazing. Also a private dining room for about 10 or so. Romantic, easy street parking.

Was recommended this restaurant from our hotel “consigliere” and was pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent, service was fairly attentive and quick. Ambience is definitely lacking though. My biggest complaint is, after coming to Cancun for 10 years, and dining out often, I’ve never had a restaurant “not “take American Express. Unfortunately, that was all I ever take out wit me, so you can imagine my embarrassment when I had to take a taxi to my hotel to grab another card. It does not state that anywhere, that AMEX is not taken. NOT COOL!!!!

Have been fortunate enough to eat fine meals in cities like, ew York, Rome, Florence, Las Vegas, Dallas, Mexico City and the like. Not only was the food amazing to see and eat, the staff was excellent as well. If you are fortunate enough to be seated in Gerado’s or Pablo’s section, you are in for a treat. Their service is the best I have ever received from any fine dining restaurant in my life and complimented the quality of the meal perfectly. They were always ready when we needed service, but never in our fave. They never made us feel rushed or hurried during the entire course of the meal which lasted more than two hours. We like to take our time and enjoy each course that we eat. My wife and I started with two excellent Margaritas. We then split two of the wood fired octopus meals. Octopus can be difficult to prepare correctly, but this restaurant did it perfectly. We followed the octopus course with the Spanish ham which was carved table side and presented in an artisan style. I have sampled different prosciutto’s and hams from a variety of different places; this one is absolutely the best I have ever eaten. Finally, The staff that made my family and I feel very welcome at the table. We were never rushed despite having an excellent view of the marina and the interest rather casually. They treated us like royalty and did not charge us by our physical appearance or clothing. We I have eaten at many other nice restaurants in this area. However, this one is the best for the quality of the food and the service. As a bonus, this meal was not as expensive as some of the other lesser quality meals we have to eaten while on our travels. If you have read my other reviews and you know I only comment on locations that are exceptionally good or exceptionally terrible with their service. I am happy to report that this is one of the most exceptional restaurants I have ever had the pleasure to dine in. Please come enjoy this excellent meal. I was not compensated for my opinions. Hello, We are very honored with your comment, we really appreciate the time you took to write your experience with us in such detail. We are a company dedicated entirely to our visitors to live the best possible experience and fill us with joy that we could accomplish that mission with you. We would love to see you again and find Montemar and their team as a place that will always receive you with a smile and take care of you! Again I really appreciate the time to write, we are really happy! Kind Rewards.

My husband and I are big fans of this restaurant. We have gone for dinner and brunch on several occasions in the past but tonight we went back to try their new concept " All you can eat a la carte tasting menu for one low price!" WOW! We tried 8 different tapas each paired with the whiskey experience ( 4 different whiskeys varying in taste and age) and shared a dessert. Everything and I mean everything was simply excellent! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. As usual, the service and quality of food were top notch. If you are on vacation in Cancun make sure you add this place to your list and if you live in Cancun like we do and haven't been here yet then my question is "what are you waiting for?"SolunaCancun,Thank you so much for your lovely words and beautiful pictures, it's always a pleasure having you both dine with us.Thanks again from all of us here at The Bears Den.

First of all, the cabaret itself is gorgeous and so are the female dancers. The costumes for women and the stage, light show and settings are superb as well. Some dancers are excellent, but others seem injured, exhausted or simply jaded.Who could blame them when they work constantly for more than 3 1/2 hours and do other shows on the side? This show is too long and should be cut down to 2 hours, without meals...The food was terrible, served cold, almost thrown at you and it's always embarrassing to me to eat in front of performers...Now the show itself : very uneven. Most signers sing well in Spanish but English is not their forte. False notes galore ! Sometimes even a little funny it's so bad.And you never get to "settle" into a piece that is well executed and where an actual emotion is felt and happening because of the constant switches to other songs. It feels like a hypomanic medley for promoting K-Tel records.Your head spins trying to keep up with all the action and costume changes, thus, never allowing the spectator to ease into and appreciate a complete number. It's like the creators wanted to "throw it all in there", not having the discernment to know when to stop, pause, edit or allow emotions to rise up.Being in this industry, I can tell you this is no Vegas or Broadway show.It has the glitter, but none of the soul...Special shout out to the young MC who's got fabulous energy !Bottomline, glad I went and did not have to pay for it.Dear Customer,Thank you for deciding to attend our Chic Cabaret & Restaurant. We are very pleased that you liked the beautiful costumes, the beautiful dancers, and the place, as well as the energy of our MC.Your comments are very important for us and you can be sure that your opinion about the duration of the show will be transmitted to our Administration for their consideration. It will be a pleasure to welcome you again on your next visit to Costa Mujeres.Best regards,Heidi JiménezHospitality Manager Assistant

Blind tasting experience dinner.

We will definitely never forget the Black Hole. Our experience was a little unique. Typically a number of people will have the same reservation time and you all go through the experience together from beginning to end. However, we were alone! The only table. Nearly all the food was really good. Some stuff that wasn’t as good might have been because you don’t know what your eating at the time. One of the only downsides was that it all felt a bit rushed. In the beginning our waiter (Juan) would bring two items and tell us which order to eat them as he disappeared into the darkness. After a few minutes he would return and have us guess what we ate (and tell us if we were correct). As the meal progressed, he gave us less time to try the food before he would be replacing with new plates. Leaving very little time to feel and smell and taste. The entertainer Nicole was amazing! Humorous and a beautiful singer. Don’t miss out on this truly unique experience! Side note: they also sent us home with a unopened bottle of wine! No idea why, or if they do this for everyone!?
