Club del Golfo is located on the north west coast of Sardinia, on the Asinara Gulf, directly on the beautiful and crystal clear sea that characterizes this island. The structure, built in typical Sardinian architecture, is nestled in a lush pine forest that extends over the whole surrounding area. Since it leads to long beach with golden sand dunes and spectacular. The sea, sheltered from the winds by the lush greenery, is characterized by beautiful shallow water, perfect for snorkelling and diving. Situated only 10 km from the port of Porto Torres, 40 km from the airport of Alghero airports is also close to places of historical and cultural interest.

Reviewed By timmQ3871SDWe booked an Air B N B in Sorso early August 2021. We arrived to find an insect infestation, so we had to find another place to stay. It was peak season, but Hotel Club del Golfo thankfully had a room. And it changed our entire trip. The staff was so friendly and engaging. They are always getting people involved in activities like ping pong tournaments, archery, aqua fitness classes and so much more. They put on a show at night put together by the creative director, Toto. Don't worry, Toto. I'm not done with you yet ;). I told them I was going to propose to my girlfriend, and quite literally within 10 minutes they pulled me aside and had balloons, leis and music ready to go if I wanted. Thanks to Anita, Alejandra and the other extremely charming young man who's name escapes me right now (I am so sorry!), it went off without a hitch. And they continued to be nothing but wonderful the whole trip. They all work so incredibly hard and always with a smile. We were the only Americans there, and when we asked how many they get, they laughed and said we were the first in two years. The last night we were there, the act that was to perform that night canceled. They found out I played guitar, and Toto and Julien come up to me and ask me if I would be willing to fill in. When I showed up for sound check, I realized there was percussion on the stage and that Toto was going to play the show with me, despite the fact that he didn't even know what songs I knew. As if that wasn't enough, Mateo (another amazing staff member) happens to be an incredible beat boxer, so I called him up on stage and he didn't even blink an eye. these guys absolutely crushed it. The night put a bow on what was the perfect vacation. We were so sad to leave. Thank you so much Toto, Anita, Mateo, Alejandra, Manu, the whole Animation staff, the bartenders, the front desk, the house keeping and everything in between. You were the reason our vacation was truly magical. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you more than you can possibly know.

Amazing hospitality, nothing is too much trouble!
Reviewed By CharlotteR582Our second visit! As a family of four (children 10 and 8) within a party of 11 (6adults 5 children) this hotel is perfect. The family room was spacious with a separate room for Mummy and Daddy. Plenty of storage space. The buffet food was FABULOUS both hot meals/pasta and cold antipasto. We ate, drank and slept like kings. Thank you Micheala, Dino, Elsa and all the wonderful staff. Yes there is a walk to the yacht club/beach/pool and a charge for sunbeds. But as English people it means dawn sunbed wrestling - we like a sunbed and the charge includes pedalo and kayak use and plenty of lifeguards- the beach is spotless. You can also leave your snorkelling equipment and floaties/lilos. The hotel has a bus service that you can utilise to drop and collect you from various spots along the coast including the beautiful la Pelosa beach. We spent a few days on there too (much more expensive sun loungers though...) We rented a speedboat from the yacht club and spent the day cruising around the amazing water, fabulous! Crystal clear water. We are so sad to go and we will be back!

Reviewed By Julio CI was in the Marina Manna for a week with the family and it was very good. The only remark is the houses that need a small refurbished. The breakfast and dinner were good. There were activities for all the family during our stay.

Reviewed By I7913SRpauleI had the most wonderful meal at this family run restaurant. The food was delicious, made with home grown and locally sourced ingredients and prepared with care and love. Great effort was made to explain each dish and how it was made. The portions were very generous. I'm already planning another visit to this wonderful region and I will certainly return for another meal. If anyone is reading this and has the opportunity to taste the food here, I would highly recommend you book and allow yourself to experience a wonderful culinary treat.

The beach can be reached on foot or by our complimentary shuttle service. The Resort enjoys a spectacular 360 degree views over the sea. In front of it you can see the “Corsica” Island, on the left a magnificent view of the village “Castelsardo” and of the “Asinara” Island, and on the right a view of “Isola Rossa”. The Resort consists of a main building where are located the Reception, the Lobby Bar, the Restaurant and the Terrace with the Pool Bar, and the Pool fed by sea water, the Theatre, the Bazaar, the Mini Club, the Games Room, and in the garden there are 6 smaller buildings, where are located the rooms that are built as bungalows. Each room has a private entrance and has a veranda or a balcony.All the rooms are located on a hill, overlooking the beautiful bay, face the ocean and have a wonderful sea view. Before the summer season 2011, all 100 Rooms have been equipped with every comforts: Independent Air Conditioning, Hair Dryer, Refrigerator, Flat screen color TV, Safe, and the verandahs and balconies have been equipped with Chairs, little Table and Drying Rack for Laundry . Reviewed By shetraveller365Castelsardo Resort was a good resort to relax. Especially if you plan to stay for a few days. A good place to come back to after a long day of exploring Sardinia. The animation team Mattia and Camila did their absolute best to entertain their guests.

Worst massage experience ever

I was treated like a slab of meat, with the thermal mud slapped on, being showered with the door open to the hallway, told to relax in the jacuzzi bath while she cleaned the floor and the massage which I think was supposed to be full body - consisted of spider movements up and down my back and legs, followed by the occasional long stroke. No attention was paid whatsoever to my arms, neck or shoulders. The pool was scruffy and the whole experience was a massive disappointment, especially as we had travelled for 2.5 hours to get there. I wish I had just swum in the river outside.

Tried our best Italian, woman barely spoke a word to us in any language, just demanded the tax payment and took us to our room without any word about anything. Had to call her back to ask about the air conditioning (which incidentally is in the main living area, not the bedrooms). Apartments are for those happy to slum-it a bit, which we are prepared to do for a great location - which it was. Kitchen equipment very basic. Bathroom a bit mouldy but otherwise clean enough. Shutters broken, curtains kept falling off the wall. Generally shabby, chipped, rusty etc. Worst things: absolutely banging loud Euro-trash music by the pool. Asked them to turn it down/off but the DJ was enjoying it too much. Even though some of the time we were the only guests there. Also the water in the pool was so over chlorinated that our children got chlorine burns around the edges of their swimsuits and their nipples. They were absolutely raw. Best thing: location good with lovely view and hearing distance of Castelsardo's bells, although a good 20 minutes walk into town. If you stay here, don't make the mistake we did - you need a car to get to the beautiful beaches. Apparently the hotel has a shuttle service to the beach but they were so unhelpful and unwilling to try speaking a mix of Italian and English, we never got to use it. Oh and the WiFi didn't work - we weren't within range of it. Apparently it's only available at the top of the hill in the hotel rooms, not the apartments or by the pool.

Nice and quiet
Reviewed By Alessandro CNice beach umbrellas in a nice spot close to la Pelosa. Pristine waters and great colours. Quiet and nice, unlike the club beside where they still have music and aqua gym animation like it’s the 80s. Bit pricey but well maintained. Avoid the restaurant, which is unrelated to the club, but very bad and overpriced.

Nice property, good food, rather isolated
Reviewed By Johnnie WWe just returned from a week’s stay at La Plage. We were Americans traveling with a group of Austrians from Vienna. There was much to like about our visit. The setting directly on the Mediterranean is picture perfect, the property is expansive and the food at our nightly buffet was very good. We had a room on the first (European) floor of the hotel. It was simple and very comfortable and clean. We had a lovely terrace overlooking the sea. Our recommendation for the future would be to rent a car for the length of any stay. That can be done right at the property. As there is no close by town except the not too interesting Sorso, wonderful hour long drives to both Alghero and Stintino were highlights. There are very nice pools, but the beach is only a rock one.
