I have just relocated to Killarney for a 3-month work contract in Tralee. I am totally finding my feet in this stunning location. Every single day my partner & I try to find something new we were so impressed when we went for a wander to Torc Waterfall and the old Muckross Abbey, and they are incredible; a must-do, took us about two and a half hours. We are three weeks into our time in Killarney and I am already a die-hard Kerry GAA fan! Kerry Abu.We found Piccolo and the team by total accident because we read about this place on TA and heard the funky acid jazz music and had to check it out after our walk. First, initial thoughts are its a very small "hybrid" takeawy that does allow one to eat in! About 20/28 seats max. If you eat in or takeaway it's the same price, same menu, hence "Hybrid" ;-)The food was bloody amazing. the staff are so cool and the red wine was so, so, so made for Pizza. The place is so different, cool, laidback and a really nice atmosphere. It was also packed..., so many people waiting for a table but at no point did we feel under pressure, we had the wine to sip while waiting. The chef who came over to was Italian was brilliant and the waitress knew her stuff. I can honestly say the evening was perfect. # Great value for money # Fresh hand made food # A beautiful little restaurant in the town centre# Good Music# Safe & Friendly feel# Brillant staffWe will be back & thank you TA for highlighting this gem of a pizzeria with amazing red wine!! It certainly went down a bit too easyscouse pair - thanksWow Dylan thank you so much for this amazing review. We love hearing feedback from our customers.Hopefully we will be seeing you more frequently throughout your contractual work commitments, we will have the wine ready for you ;) Thanks again, - Kasia

Did takeout from Little Italy. My wife ordered a gluten free pizza and it was excellent. The crust was tasty and the sauce appeared to be homemade. I had a regular pizza and it to was excellent. The restaurant is a little difficult to find (in a plaza down an alley way) but it's well worth it.

Tucked away from the crowds, this is an absolute gem! Walking up the stairs, there are holes in the carpet. Up on the second floor, the floor is scratched BUT wow, the food was absolutely spot on! Friendly, courteous staff. I had the prawns in brandy cream sauce with asparagus. Full of flavor but not overpowering, each bite readies me for the next one. My wife had the gnocchi in carbonara, the look on her face told me all I needed to know but she slipped me a sample anyway. Her face was right...... Reasonable prices, comparable to others in the area. If we were in town longer we would go back there again!

This restaurant looked attractive and we therefore booked a table for dinner. Our bruschetta starter was fine but my spaghetti was truly awful. The bowl in which it came had a load of unexpected liquid at the bottom of it. It tasted of rancid butter so I sent it back. I chose penne alla arabbiata instead which was edible but nowhere near what I expected. The atmosphere in the restaurant was tense throughout the evening suggesting something was wrong behind the scenes. It’s also quite expensive so it was a real disappointment after a long day driving the Ring of Kerry.

I ordered the Guinness Irish stew and it was phenomenal. One of my favorite meals ever. I went home and googled how to make it myself. Huge portions. Staff was friendly but not overly attentive.
