The Boxty House

Our restaurant has been at the beating heart of a dynamic, contemporary community for over 25 years. Our customers experience a genuine taste of modern Ireland, full of eclectic talking points and the warmth of that country kitchen down the west. Today, o

Local hotel recommended Boxty for great fish and chips on our first night in Dublin and it truly was the best and really set the bar high for all others meals in Dublin. Fish was crunchy, not greasy, fresh and hot. Chips were fat and full of potato. Pea mash was a great side dish. Hubby had lamb stew and he is still raving about it days later. Great, friendly service, too. Host warmly welcomed everyone coming in. Our server was great and didn’t rush us. Overall, a great kick start to an awesome stay in an amazing city. Dublin, we love your accents! Hello Cindy C,We are grateful for your review. We are beaming with pride knowing that we hit the mark and delivered on everything that we promised and we hope to welcome you again soon!Kind regards,The Boxty House

Was invited to lunch with the family, food and wine menu is very good. Would recommend the Scampi, but all the food is excellent and not that expensive. Staff were very helpful and obliging. Parking is the only issue, you can get lucky and get a space outside otherwise it’s a walk, and in the rain, not nice.Hello Bernard G,Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We are delighted you enjoyed your meal with us and appreciate your kind words. We look forward to seeing you again soon.Kind regards,Matt the Thresher

I love both Michael’s and Little Mikes. First off their staff are amazing, so welcoming and accommodating and knowledgable about their menu. The food is simply stunning, if you love great steak and seafood you are in for a treat. I first learned about this restaurant from a business friend of mine and he suggested I visited, so I did. Since then I’ve taken many of my clients for a real experience of Irish seafood and fish in Michael’s and Little Mikes and they’ve left being very impressed. A trip to both Michael’s and Little Mikes will not disappoint. Never mind the stuck up review yer man gave below. Can’t wait for my next visit. Keep up the great work guys!

Recently had a very enjoyable dinner at Sole while visiting Dublin. The food was fantastic. We started with a dozen rock oysters - we tried 3 different varietals from Ireland. Wonderful presentation, and the oysters were top notch. We then shared the mussels as a starter - the portion size here is enormous, so if you have the mussels (and I highly recommend them), they can be shared by 2 (or even 3 or 4 people). For mains, we shared the Coquilles St. Jacques, and then the Norwegian King Crab lags - both entrees were presented well, and prepared to perfection. We also shared a bottle of Sancerre with the meals. The wine list is not extensive, but entirely adequate. My only complaint about our dinner was our table. We had booked ahead, and arrived to find the restaurant about half full. We were given one of the worst tables in the restaurant, right adjacent to a service station with a POS terminal. There was a lot of waiter traffic to this station, which disturbed our otherwise nice meal. I would have expected the restaurant to seat a walk-in customer at this table, and leave the better tables for those that booked ahead, especially given that the restaurant was about never more than 3/4 full for the entire meal.Dear Guest,I appreciate you taking the time to review our restaurant and for sharing your recent experience. I will also be sure to pass on your kind words regarding the food to the culinary team! They will be thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the oyster, king crab and Coquilles St Jacques. We are sincerely sorry you were not happy with your table on this occasion; if you had let us know your feelings, we would have been happy to offer a different table.I do hope If you should return to Dublin you can contact me directly at [email protected] to oversee your bookingKind Regards,Victor NedeleaGeneral Manager

Mykonos Taverna

Mykonos Taverna is a Greek Authentic Restaurant in the heart of Dublin. Everything is homemade very Authentic and taste of Greece.

Firstly, the restaurant is beautiful & the service was good. That, unfortunately is where the positive ends. I had dolmades, feta & spinach parcels & a chicken gyros. The dolmades were soggy and tasteless. The filo parcels were, albeit the best of a bad lot, deep fried & heavy. The gyros was inedible, as the chicken was poor quality (even for a gyros), poorly seasoned & dry. I was so looking forward to some authentic Greek cuisine, as it’s hard to come by in Dublin, and I was bitterly disappointed. I was also charged for the uneaten food. Such a shame the food doesn’t match the beautiful surroundings.
