Chieti is a pleasant place, as is this restaurant. A Tuesday lunchtime and pretty busy, mainly I suspect with local people. The interior probably wouldn't win any awards for its decor et cetera, but the food was okay. We had one dish of spaghetti con vongole (clams) which was fine, and one of pasta with chickpeas which was delicious. With a half litre of house red wine all for â¬20 which in terms of value, not bad. Service bit matter of fact, but nothing to complain about.

Locale semplice con un'ottima cucina di mare. Il personale gentilissimo. Il cibo molto buono, ma non tutto mi ha convinto, ad esempio l'uso di peperone dolce nelle linguine allo scoglio: sapore troppo invadente. Buoni anche gli antipasti. Il prezzo un po' altro considerando il tipo di osteria, la zona e quanto abbiamo mangiato: 38 euro per un antipasto, un primo, frutta e caffè, senza vino. Comunque è sicuramente un posto che consiglio e ci tornerò sicuramente, magari provando altro.

I passed this rather unassuming restaurant, thought the prices were remarkably low, checked it out on trip advisor and decided to give it a go. Was I glad. The food was excellent, the portions large and the local wine was excellent. I would have given it 5 stars had they not given me a table that was away from their customers. I was on my own. Sadly this is par for the course in most restaurants.
