Lovely place, excellent value, good base for exploring the south of the island.
Reviewed By RJMLynchMy friend and I booked Elena Rooms at the last minute, our flight having been put back two days at short notice. On arrival we were given a friendly welcome and shown our room, which was very clean, stocked with essentials to make hot drinks, fridge, quite a good kitchenette with a three-spot hob (and a mini oven, I think? Didn't use it), a TV which we also didn't use, but both there there if you want them, wifi, and had a lovely terrace, bright, but shaded by some well-kept shrubs. It was a little small, compared to the apartment we'd just vacated, but perfectly good for a holiday, and was exactly as described, i.e. 'room' and not 'apartment'. There is a very good, panoramic view of the hills to the rear, though you would need to sit outside to enjoy it. The price was excellent. Initially I'd booked this as an 'emergency' measure but we were both very impressed (and my friend tends to say what she thinks!).

Stefanos Village Hotel is a small family hotel with luxury Studios and Apartments providing ideal conditions for relaxing and enjoyable family holidays. The lodgings enjoy panoramic sea view from a private balcony or terrace. They are equipped with air conditioning and some with a functioning fire place. The decor is based on the modern Cretan life with wooden furniture, ceilings and/or floors. They are very spacious and have a kitchenette, private bathroom with a shower, bath or a Jacuzzi. Pool with bar and a restaurant serving home cooked specialties.
A good place that has gone bad, VERY VERY BAD!
Reviewed By tomersiFirst of all, NEVER pay until you see, and check out the room We have stayed in this place several times in the last few years Unfortunately, the place has turned from one of the best places that were in the area, to a very bad place. We stayed at the place for almost a month. The maintenance of the place, is poor, broken chairs, torn sun beds, inactive sun umbrellas, the place is not as clean as it used to be. Our apartment had a musty smell that did not go away, the closet in the shower crumbled (probably from moisture) there was no strong water flow and there was almost no hot water in the morning. The kitchen did not have any kitchen utensils and we had to ask for basic things and buy some. The refrigerator door got stuck in the floor and we had to put a stone under the refrigerator to balance it. There was an inactive hot tub on the balcony, which took up half a balcony space and we received a different answer from each hotel representative regarding its operation. The hosts have their own pace, slow and not serviceable. The poor excuse for all our questions and requests was "Corona" which did not really work out with the problems we presented ... The place does not appear to have a manager present. There are so many good places in Plakias, it's a waste of time, money and aggravation. Stay Away.

Great location but mediocrity of service

The hotel was unsatisfactory: the bathroom was smelly, the bed matrix was rather uncomfortable and the kitchen had less than the basic. The breakfast was also unsatisfactory since the raw materials were of medium quality. The personnel was helpful though.

Good location for a short stay
Reviewed By WillappI only spent one night here so it's difficult to give a comprehensive review, but the location was excellent being quite central in Plakias and just across the road from the beach. Breakfast wasn't included but you get a discount at the cafe next door due to it being owned by another family member. The staff were friendly and kept my luggage secure as I arrived early before the room was ready. The room itself was comfortable and more than adequate for the price I paid.

Reviewed By George TI stayed in mid November, during the last 2-3 days of a slightly tough business trip. I felt really happy with the room I got taking into account the price I paid. I don't know if it was due to the rough program I had, but I really wish I could stay there a bit more to relax. I had nice temperature in the room, strong wifi signal, TV, air conditioning, large spacious bathroom, large spacious kitchen/living room. Only minor downside, I didn't find a top sheet for the bed to put between me and the blanket.

OASIS is a small hotel, run by Nikos, born and bred in Crete and his Spanish-Belgian wife Maria. It is situated 800m from Plakias beach and Damnoni beach, and 1 km from Plakias village. It has 6 double rooms and 4 apartments. All rooms/apartments have a big balcony or terrace and picturesque mountain view. Set in spacious gardens, OASIS has a much appreciated swimming pool and a bar/taverna where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks or drinks all day long.
Clean and confortables, good for the money
Reviewed By d dLike most of the studios in the area Oasis is by the main route, so quite noisy during the day. Regardless of that the swimming pool area proved to be a nice, cool place to relax. The apartment is basic but, as the rest of the building, extremely clean. Personel is very nice and professionals to solve any little issues we had immediately. Plakias beach and center and Dam noninvasive beach are just 1 km away. Wick all over the hotel was just ok.

Voiture indispensable car il faut monter sur une petite colline. Comme l'endroit est isolé, la voiture permet de se déplacer en journée et le soir. Idéal pour les couples. Les propriétaires sont charmants et très discrets. Nous avons séjourné dans un studio simple mais bien aménagé et propre. Le ménage est fait tous les jours quelquefois tous les deux jours mais c'est suffisant. Superbe terrasse avec vue mer

Όταν έφτασα στο συγκεκριμένο κατάλλυμα το δωμάτιο ήταν άλλο από αυτό που έκλεισα και οι φωτογραφίες από το site είχαν σβηστεί, οπότε δεν μπορούσα να αποδείξω τίποτα. Ο κύριος στη ρεσεψιόν δεν ενδιαφέρθηκε καθόλου για την αναστάτωση που μας προκάλεσε ήθελε απλά να εισπράξει το 30% της ακύρωσης.Αν κλείσετε δωμάτιο απλά ελέγξτε ότι είναι σωστό.
