With its historic monuments, cultural events, charming streets, thermal baths, fine wines and scenic hiking routes, Pécs is understandably one of Hungary’s leading tourist destinations – and Palatinus Grand Hotel is among its most beautiful buildings! Entering the grand lobby is like stepping into a different era, and Art-Nouveau masterpieces like the stunning ballroom – where Béla Bartók once performed – continue to enchant guests to this day. The hotel is also an excellent base for exploring, located just off the main square in the historic old town, and next door to shops and restaurants.
If you're looking to spend a night or two in a Grand Hotel from a bygone era, this amazing hotel will show you what it was like in the days of old. The Grand staircase, the beautiful mosaics and porcelain from Zsolnay at its heyday with the service as if you were in the movie "The Grand Budapest Hotel." Don't look for the modern luxury of the Marriott BonVoy Elite upgrades, but, with the right mindset, you will appreciate a different era's luxury. I personally welcomed the infrequent breaks of cookie-cutter hotels.

The Adele Boutique Hotel opens in July 2015 and it is one of the newest hotels of the city. The four-star hotel is located in a historical building from the 19th century and is under monumental protection. The rooms are classy and elegant. The hotel has 19 rooms, among 3 apartments and 3 suits, sauna, relax area, fitness centre, inside garden plus breakfast room.
Spent 2 nights in this hotel with my wife, and I must say that we were not pleased with the services at all. In general the room was clean, however in the bathroom the soap dispenser was empty and I literally had to argue with the staff to get a refill (which I never received) in fact they said that it is not possible that there is no soap in it. Breakfast was okay, however we had to wait quite a lot for refills there too, for example for water?! The other thing is that, if you want to use the sauna (which is why we picked this particular accommodation) you need to pay extra fee (little bit more than 8 euros) to get it turned on, also you need to pay extra if you want to park your car near the hotel (even on weekend days when it is free anyway). Overally not terrible experience, but kind of a ripp off, didn't offer anything beyond the average.

This is a well positioned and excellent hotel, within a short walking distance of the centre of Pécs. All the staff on reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and the room was spotless with good amenities. The bed was a little hard but the room was a good size with a lot of storage facilities and good ventilation.

The hotel and sport centre is located in a quiet area only a few minutes away from the University of Pecs and 2,2 km from the historical city-centre. The newest 4* star part of the complex was opened in Apr 2011. The older 3* star part of the establishment was completely refurbished also in 2011. The facilities of the complex are also ideal for weddings, family and business meetings, and conferences. In addition, guests can enjoy a variety of sports such as tennis, squash, aerobics, and swimming. Please enjoy the hotel, sport, and dining facilities of the complex; our staff will do its best to satisfy all your needs. The hotel ideally suited for wedding parties, family and corporate events, meetings, conferences and free time programs.
The room (an appartmant) ws large enough. But the bed is uncomfotable, safe and hair dryer did not work. Breakfest was ok, a normal continental. But the dinner is overpriced, especially if a half-pension. Do not buy that! The lokation was fair for my purpose. The hotel operates two reception desk, and I had to go always to the other one....

We stayed in a triple room (006). Spacious room with good modern design, large closet, refrigerator, international TV, 2 beds and sofa, 2 armchairs, table. I want to note comfortable beds, excellent shower room, high-quality filling (shower gel, soap, etc.). The view from the window is not the most presentable, but it was not important for us. Breakfasts are rich and varied. The products are fresh and tasty. Cons: location, 20 minutes by public transport to the center, ~40 minutes on foot.

Hotel Arkadia was opened in 2010 in Pécs's city centre. All the 25 rooms are equipped with air condition, bathroom (shower/wc), minibar, telefon, television. Wifi is available free of charge in the entire hotel. Self-service buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.
We spent there 2 nights during a gloomy autumn season. The hotel was well equipped to fight with the cold and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The room was decorated with taste in mind. The breakfast area was friendly. We could imagine some more selection for eat, but IMHO that was just enough to start the day with a smile. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for one night during the conference in the city. Hotel is some 3km from the city centre, up the hill. Driving can be a bit demanding, but there are plenty of taxis. Hotel is new and smaller one, nicely fitted with modern furniture. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Breakfast was ok. Price very affordable.

I had booked this B&B because the website featured what looked like a really nice veranda with good views over Pecs. I also liked the ethnographic decoration which was featured online. When we arrived in the evening there was a big noisy wedding. So we could not have a bite to eat and a glass of wine on the veranda/terrace. All we could do is go to the room which, as it was very much decorated, felt rather overwhelming. The bathroom is dated and the toilet seat not properly adjusted. The next morning we were told that we would have breakfast in another building just below because in the hotel they had to prepare for yet another wedding. This room had a terrace too but even while the rather basic buffet breakfast (which itself could be much improved) was served, here too tables and chairs etc. were moved because the of the preparations for the wedding. So this was, all in all, a rather disappointing stay.

Hotel Fonix is located in the historical centre of Pecs. It was built in the early 1980's by a famous Hungarian architect. It has 13 rooms that can satisfy the needs of larger families and people who are travelling alone. The hotel is in the heart of the city, just next (20 meters) to the main square of Pecs and Kiraly street, the main walking street of Pecs. The location of the hotel makes it an ideal spot for businessman and tourists as well.
I really liked this place. Becsuse it’s affordable and also nice hotel. The staff is really lovely too. You are next to the city centre, every morning you can go for a walk. Maybe the best word, that summarize that place is the: homely
