Reviewed By cindymI4721COThis hotel was terrible. The AC did not work, nor did the WIFI, and the TV in the bedroom had a black stripe through it so we could not watch it. They ran out of coffee and there was dirty bedding, towels and laundry left in the hallway all night. We told the front desk about these issues and nothing was done. False advertising, as the lounge advertised was not even open. The breakfast was absolutely horrid. The only saving grace was that the bed was comfortable.

Excellence Plus!
Reviewed By Lyn KIf I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, I would. Absolutley everything that we look for in a hotel - was perfect: Friendly, warm welcome. Accommodated us with an early check-in. The entire hotel was spotless, including our room. There was not a piece of lint on the floor, or any dust. The bathroom was impeccable, including fresh white towels. The beds were comfy, with clean (not stained) linens. The complimentary breakfast was very good, and lots of options were available. We noticed all the staff were working hard and very friendly. The manager was wiping tables in the breakfast area in the morning, and the front reception clerk was stocking the pantry in the front lobby. The housekeeping staff were friendly and are doing an excellent job in the rooms. With COVID-19 restrictions lifting, we have taken several trips in the past few months. We have noticed a general decline in hotel service and amenities, and have been disappointed elsewhere. This hotel is a perfect example of "getting it right" and succeeding in making the customer experience a positive one. The hotel is close to Highway 11, and there are lots of food options nearby. The parking lot is well lit, and the grounds were well maintained. I would recommend and will stay again if we are in the area.

Good Choice in Hotel
Reviewed By marcia hHotel is very kid friendly the breakfasts are assume for both adult and child. Location near many restaurants eg. Kelsey's. Good green space and gazebo behind the hotel. Staff very nice and helpful, the Olive restaurant attached has a nice bar but limited menu at this time. I will defeatedly stay there again.

Poor lighting
Reviewed By Cheryl DWhere we had to park had 3 lights in the area and only 1 at the far end was working. It was pitch black and I fell leaving the car hurting my knee. I reported it to the front desk and they seemed very indifferent and had been aware of the lights being out. We did not feel our vehicle was safe as did other guests.

2 night stay in Orillia at the Comfort Inn
Reviewed By jane dWe checked in with no issues, after learning there was no elevator I asked for and received a first floor room as my spouse has mobility issues. Room was nice and cool on a super hot day! However: The bathroom sink drained DIRECTLY INTO A BLUE RECYCLE BOX. The room was not touched on our second day. We were out of the room by 8am, back by 5. Not a thing had been done. Clearly they don’t offer any housekeeping in multiple day stays. The shampoo, conditioner and lotion was empty upon check in. There were 2 bath, 2 hand towels for 2 people for 2 days. Unacceptable. Had I been told at check in that there would be absolutely NO service i at the very least could have managed my already quite low expectations. The room felt dirty and the glass door was disgusting. Remember the blue box full of sink water? I made sure to empty it after each use so as not to attract any more flying insects than were already in the bathroom. We counted 14 on the bathroom wall at one point. Do not recommend. Will not return. Full disclosure, I booked via Priceline

Absolutely terrible
Reviewed By Patti NWhat a terrible experience. We have stayed at this hotel before and were very happy. This time the tv did not work, we shared a common wall with the ice maker room and did not get more than 2 hours sleep because of the noise. The “included” breakfast was basically cereal and instant oatmeal with yogurt. We will never be back.

Tired and dated
Reviewed By jojoarbTired, dated resort with mediocre food, but good staff. We stayed over the may long weekend. As other reviewers have mentioned the resort is very dated. All public areas and the rooms need to be brought into the 21st century. The food is ok, but not great. Don’t expect Toronto restaurant quality food. We travelled with our daughter who is in a wheelchair and stayed in an accessible room with a roll in shower (I believe they only have one of these). This worked out fabulously for us. Meal times are odd - breakfast just until 9.30 (this is a vacation- until 10 would have been better), lunch at noon (we would have preferred the option of a later lunch time) with dinner at 6. Meals took a long time to come and perhaps it would be better if they staggered the guests meal times more so the kitchen could cope better.

This place should be condemned. I paid over $170 for one night. Nothing like advertised. Just gross. I don't mind if a place is outdated but it should be clean and fairly decent. I don't know who wrote the other reviews but they are not accurate. Hmmm.... maybe friends and family wrote them. I dare him to respond to this review!

Comfortable and convenient
Reviewed By vz4-familyRented two rooms (each room had two double beds - a bit cozy for 4 adults), both had comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. The “breakfast included” in the booking is only tea and coffee, but there are so many restaurants close by. When we noticed that one of the rooms had an unpleasant odour (a previous guest seems to have ignored the hotel’s non smoking policy), the manager was very apologetic and arranged another room for us. Very grateful to the staff for their quick resolution and hospitality. Overall a good experience- I would stay here again.

Quaint little place

We only had one tiny issue with the air conditioner, but got it cleared up quickly. Check in and out was a breeze, the husband and wife that owns this place were very friendly. Parking was right in front of the room, there was a fridge and microwave (and a complimentary bag of microwave popcorn), a kettle a some instant coffee and sugar packets, no tea or cream provided. Only thing I would change is put a night stand beside the bed and the wall with the window, all that is there is a chair. There was also a rubber ducky in the bathroom, what a cute little touch We were within walking distance to a foodland and a convenience store. No breakfast, but for us, it wasn’t an issue We will definitely return and recommend this gem to others
