Reviewed By Stephanie THappy hill is located very close to montanita and other small towns around. Their rooms are clean with AC (which is rare to find around this area). They have a big balcony with an amazing view where you can have breakfast (also included with the room).

We are a hotel, located one block away from the beach. There are 26 rooms and 2 suites. There is also a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. We offer air-conditioning and a private bathroom with hot water in every room. There is a restaurant and a bar inside the hotel open in high season. Breakfast included.
Very basic and not clean
Reviewed By travellingfamilyfiveWe stayed at this property for four nights over the New Year with a family group. I can say that the workers try their best to meet your needs. However, they have no experience in running a motel. The rooms are very basic and not clean. The towels seem like sand paper and they do not replace the toiletries on a daily basis. One night we did not even have toilet paper and there was no one tending that could get it for us. The screen doors on the balconies are broken. It is a little ways off the beach and you have to walk through a dirt road to get there. The breakfast was very basic with little variety day after day. Not recommended.

Reviewed By sarabelazregueTravelled to Olon to experience the beautiful coast, and I found this beautiful little paradise of a hostal online. I stayed for a month and couldn't have chosen a more lovely, peaceful and safe place to stay. The Hostal is run by a lovely Italian couple, Patrizia and Nicola, that dedicate themselves to making sure everything is running smoothly and ensuring the customer has a comfortable and peaceful stay at their hostel. Both went out of their way daily to make my stay more special and were always smiling, open to having a chat, recommending trips and places to visit, and welcoming me every time I returned to the hostel from the beach. Both honestly radiate a lot of warmth, I would definitely return in the coming years to visit the two of them (and their adorable pets). All the personnel definitely added a lot to the overall experience and made me feel at home - they were always smiling and very caring. Everyone at the hostal went out of their way to help and make my stay perfect. I had to unfortunately change the duration of my stay due to COVID-19 (one month instead of three) and the personnel there went out of their way to help me organise my trip back home (something I did not expect them to help me with) - very thankful to Patrizia, Nicole and Jorge (the hostal's admin). The hostal's rooms surround a beautiful garden filled with palm trees, flowers, and plants, with comfortable hammocks and hand-crafted wooden table and chairs - the perfect place to sit down and relax in the early hours of the hot afternoon or after dinner. My room was on the 3rd floor and had 2 double beds, it was spotless and spacious with a big tiled bathroom, comfortable double bed, and a balcony with stunning views of the sunset on the sea. Breakfast is not included in the price however is definitely worth having at the hostel - with fresh tropical fruit salads and smoothies available every day. Overall, the hostal is gorgeous and beautifully crafted, it genuinely exudes this tranquillity (something I find key when travelling abroad for such a long period) and peacefulness. Patrizia and Nicola made my stay very memorable and joyful, I would go again for the hostel itself but more so for the people there.

Reviewed By D7072QDthierrylMe and my girlfriend just stayed there for 8 days. This place is exactly what we needed. It is right in front of the ocean and close to the action, but super quiet. The room (cielo) that we had had an amazing view and the sound of the waves was very calming. During the day we worked in their restaurant / chilling area and I rarely got so much work done. The internet is fast and reliable and covers the whole hostal. The staff is really great too. We'll come back next year for sure.

Reviewed By Idea MI booked the big room with an ocean and mountain view. When I arrived, I was given a dark little room with small window overlooking a very fabulous wall LOL. And I was told that there are no rooms with ocean view. NONE. The so called swimming pool is just huge bathtub. No adult could make even one lap there. Might be good for kids, if and when it is cleaned, But it did not look clean either. Sorry, guys, but it is a dumpy place which is advertised as something else altogether. I would not stay there if YOU paid me to stay there. But thank you , very truly, for not charging me for refusing to stay there. And for being very nice about it.

Reviewed By Stephen PSamai Lodge is a lovely little place run mostly by Tanya, the Ecuadorian half of an international couple. The accommodations were comfortable and the site was lovely. It is about 1 km from the beach and several hundred meters up a hill. So it overlooks the ocean and affords welcome breezes and gorgeous sunsets. There lots of small areas to sit around the place so it is easy to find a solitary space. The main building houses the dining room and a space that can be used for retreats. (I was the main speaker at a yoga retreat here.) The dining room offers attentive service and good quality preparation. Vegetarian and vegan diets are easily accommodated. I suspect other special diets can be arranged. As an example, whenever red onion appears in a salad, it has been rinsed in cold water to remove the biting sulphuric compounds. Not many places take that precaution. Spa services are available, both the usual sort and also practices and treatments from indigenous traditions. Before opening this place Tanya was a journalist who worked mostly with indigenous people and her knowledge of the traditions is considerable. We discovered that she lived 10 years in my city and we planned to meet up when they are visiting.

Reviewed By MK030788Ive never left a review for anything in my life but this deserves one. 1) The owners of this resort, Roey and Iris and the staff are incredible people and always accommodating. 2) The resort itself is beautiful and 30 ft from the ocean front. 3) The 9 day ceremony I went for was hands down the best, most healing experience of my life; and Ive tried everything. I got back from this resort and within hours I had 10+ people signing up. If you are looking for help, don't waste time continuing to look around. Sign up, TRUST the process and thank yourself later.

Good value, nice location
Reviewed By 12SNinaIt is well kept B&B close to the beach. Service is pleasant and helpful. Our room was not too big but still enough. Ok wifi, flat TV, good AC. Everything was clean, saw some ants but not too many. We had refrigerator in the room and you can fill your water bottles. No problems with this drinking water. Good breakfast served on terrace and if you say your time ahead, no waiting. You can choose between eggs, pancake and waffles. Only issue was the neighbour's rooster which made lot of noise during the night. All in all recommended place and would stay again.
