Reviewed By Sarah SFriendly, helpful receptionist who spoke good English. The hotel was simple but brand new and very clean. The room was spacious enough (we were 3 people) and comfortable. The only thing I would have added would have been tea/coffee making facilities in the room - the only hot drinks available in the evening were from the vending machine in the lobby. Also a bin in the room. Good breakfast.

Cozy place with unique facility
Reviewed By gopalavIt'sa cozy place close to the train station. It has a unique feature, they offer you to drink as much as you can from a fridge which is kept in a corner on each floor. They have beer and some non-alcoholic beverages. Staff is friendly and cheerful. There is a lovely moroccon mongrel in the reception. Rooms are big and comfortable. Breakfast spread is good. They have a room to sit and relax with books for those who need to stay a little whike longer and room is not available for late check-out.

I was traveling from Denmark to Oldenburg by train, and arrived late when supermarket/restuarant was closed. The staff took care of me with food and beverages. And it made me settle down and relax. :). The location is central near shopping. The lobby is very clean and nice. I ordered a single room for just myself, and wow how nice it looked. Very spacious room and nice bathroom. Good value hotel. The staff was very welcoming and took care of me. Special thanks to staff Andrew. - T.I

Nice hotel and friendly staff
Reviewed By anjaravnI stayed in a room with windows facing the street. With windows closed almost no traffic noise. Very nice breakfast buffet. They had sweets for us when we arrived and a free lunch bag at departure. I didn't try the theme room but the decor was in general quite fun.

Odd set up but don't be put off - an excellent hotel and good value

The hotel is separate to the restaurant but the rooms are excellent. I had room 7 which was a triple. Rooms are spotless, well equipped and spacious. Although close to a road the double glazing kept out the noise - breakfast was a bit hit and miss (first time i have had stuffed vine leaves at 7:30) but then I am not Greek :) Recommended

Price and quality not in balance
Reviewed By kridenWe have been here the weekend from 8 till 9 december. The location is perfect. In walking distance from the trainstation and the city centre is just accros the street. About the hotel. It is basic. Verry basic but typical German. A lot of wood. The beds where good and the room was clean. A minor is the missing of a safe in the room but there is a mini bar on the room. Breakfast is ok but it was a way to crouded. Extremely busy. People where waiting outside the room for having a sit to get breakfast. We paid 119 euro for one night. A lot of money for a basic hotel. The biggest plus is the location!

I made a mistake
Reviewed By J1412ZKsusansSadly Hotel Alexander can’t accommodate people making mistakes. Today I misplaced a reservation for a room believing that I made it in the correct city. Although I tried making my mistake correct again Hotel Alexander refused to undo the reservation. I find that very unpleasant and not very service minded. I do not recommend that sort of Hotel.

Nice Hotel, Great Staff, Enjoyable Visit
Reviewed By Steve5839Came here to visit the local German market and meet some friends, they booked the hotel and it was a good choice. The reception and bar function as one and the prices of the bar are a little high for the town. The check in was swift and efficient and the rooms very spacious, the breakfast is wide and varied all supported by some great staff. As I said the bar area operates as a parallel to the reception and if there is a lot of reception work the time between drinks could be extended, but it did not detract from the experience. The hotel is well placed for exploring the town, my suggestion - go and enjoy (the market was worth a visit too).

It was disappointing that there were no English speaking channels on the TV - normally one gets at least CNN or BBC world news. The breakfast provided a good selection of food - a bonus point from me for the toaster (always welcome) a minus point for no freshly cooked eggs. We had a snack in the bar one evening which was tasty and good value for money and the bar had a nice atmosphere and again the staff were excellent. The hotel is close to the motorway and to the centre of Oldenburg which made it perfect for our visit,”

The rooms are spacious enough, the beds are comfortable and the building is so quiet: you are guaranteed a good rest! And most important: they accept dogs! This hotel delivers more than you assume. Situated near the centre, it offers free and safe parking, good surroundings to walk the dog, simple but good breakfast buffet, very helpful staff, particularly Khaled in the reception and the Schöne Hausfrau! We were given extra towels, helped with electricity problem and were given a kettle to make my night tea. We love staying here! The picture of Mr Clyde enjoying his siesta???
