molodost means youth. if you stay in hermes hotel like us, you will eat your breakfast in here cuz its next to hotel. very popular place all day long. we shocked its popularity. there are three options for the breakfast. I recommend you the other two but not the oathmeal. cuz I missed the breakfast last day:))

It's the ideal stop between long walks, sightseeing tours or whatever other obligations one has. The buffet offers a good choice of freshly coocked meals, including local soups which I highly recommend. Moreover, it's an ideal place to get hold of vitamins - fresh fruit and vegetables, in case there's no place for meat in your system. You are charged per 100gr of starters/ main dish

Hope we had, walking in we thought we found the cheap buffet option of Odessa. Something like Puxata Hata but perhaps a bit cheaper as it wasn't the capital and there were no staff serving the food. Oh were we dead wrong. First, all the food is cold, all of it. The owner won't pay for food heaters or staff to serve the food. The food is above local market price for such dishes. There is no way to get around it. This food is overpriced. All the food is cold, but don't worry, in a buffet with dozens of tables there is one microwave to heat up your food. That's right, overpriced food you can heat up in a microwave. Every dish I tried was loaded with salt. There were ample flies enjoying the food and the customers as well as, I hope ironically, one of the female employees backside. For a small portion of three dishes, and I do mean small by local standards, and one beer I was charged 300 hyrivna or 10 euros. For that price you can eat twice as much food in a nice beach bar. After years of coming to Ukraine and Odessa, I have finally had truly the worst meal I have ever paid for. I left unsatisfied. Do no trust these paid for reviews. This place is genuinely awful.

We visited this branch of the two in Odessa after returning from Tiraspol by train. We had used the other branch for breakfast so when we were looking for refreshment on arrival back this was a no brainer. On this occasion we had tea and cake. The way they serve tea is a bit of an art, they bring a caddy to the table spoon the tea into a container which is "pegged", yes a proper peg, onto the cup and then add the hot water. Also they give you small pieces of poppy seed biscuit to go with your drink. To eat I thoroughly enjoyed a rather nice piece of strudel. All waiting staff are very friendly and a menu in English to boot!

Just a few steps fro the national theater and opera house, the heart of Odessa. They welcome you at the entrance. The place is big with many tables among the trees outside, which are very comfortable. The food is excellent: my wife enjoyed a traditional Borsch, we had an interesting version of Caprese salad with avocado and chicken cutlets with various types of cheese. Service was fast, precise and efficient. Highly recommended

3 out of my 4 dishes were simply disgusting, one was even dangerous as I hurt my tooth on a cherry pit that wasn't supposed to be in my desert. It also took nearly 2.5hrs just for a solo dinner - with the waitress often disappearing for 30 mins or more at a time. The setting is nice, but honestly does not make up for the awful food, especially at such a high price.

In the heart of Odessa city right by the Cebtral Garden ( Gorsad) is located this great authentic Ukrainian restaurant. You can choose a wide variety of meat and potatoes dumplings, fish, pork and other delicacy. All the waiting stuff are dressed in Ukrainian national clothing. The decor is Ukrainian village with a cow and the rooster on the fence. Tasty food and generous portions. Friendly and caring service . You will enjoy it !!! Try it !

Ukraine is an impressive country still largely undiscovered by western tourists. Magnificent churches and monasteries, important historic landmarks, rundown palaces, grim reminders of wars and revolutions: Ukraine has it all. But a destination for foodies it is not. During my one week holiday I had only a couple of really good culinary experiences. One of them happened to be in the Frederic Koklen hotel in Odesa where I stayed the night. Sophie Cafe is a stylish restaurant with a lovely all-glass enclosure that serves very traditional food: a simple but delicious plate of pike caviar, quail flambéed at the table and served with grapes and mashed potatoes (how very eighties - but quite tasteful nonetheless), the chefâs own take on Kiev cake. Good wines by the glass to accompany the meal. And all this at a very reasonable price indeed. In the barren culinary land Ukraine in my experience is, Sophie Cafe definitely deserves an honourable mention.
