Reviewed By Sean C CI stayed in the Sobol for two weeks. The hotel looks new from the outside but inside tells a different story. The decor is very basic and of a cold welcoming. When I arrived the room was very cold so they put an additional electric heater in. I was still very cold so I wore my work clothes in the damp bed. I could not sleep because the room was so bright. When I had a shower, very little water came out because the pipe was blocked with dirty water. This is due to bad maintenance and failure of the hotel to use filters. The breakfast was bread and jam with tea. When you pay 5500 ruble (140 euro) per night, you would expect more from the hotel. The reception was just like the room, very cold. I came back from the nightclub but forgot lost my key, and the reception did not have a second key for the room. They told me that they will charge me 1000 ruble to remove the door if i wanted access to sleep. I was shocked but very tired and agreed to pay the extortionate price to the hotel which should have it's own second key. I would say that this hotel is like the white collar mafia in Russia. You pay or die in the cold. Do not visit the restaraunt downstairs if you are hungry. Visit the main shop and restaraunts 0,5 km from the hotel. To be honest this hotel does not deserve 1 or 2 star rating. If you are coming to Nyagan, book an apartment, no matter what the cost. It is so much more comfortable with district heating. I travel worldwide and have extensive hotel experiences because of work. This will be the worst experience you could possibly imagine.
